Can you see my referral link anywhere ?

  • +1

    cheaper on ebay

does NOT come with eneloops comes with some cheap fuji or something i think it was batteries

    uses 4 batteries not 2

i picked mine up on the 50% off ebay BBQ sale, used it pretty much every night since. uses staggeringly little charcoal and can quickly be extinguished with an upturned milo (or similar) metal can and easily relit the next night

chicken wings cooked over charcoal are epic

      does NOT come with eneloops

Obviously you didnt get the joke them

      • +2

how could i be around this long and not get an eneloop joke? please.

obviously i did but also felt the need to point out to perspective purchasers who may be expecting them that they will be very much disappointed.

  • "This is the Weber of Charcoal Grills"
    ummmmm what?

I am a bit of a bbq enthusiast and it's the first time I have seen this product so checked out a vid on youtube and all I have to say is I never thought it would be possible to get such uneven heat distribution on such a small bbq!

You would be insane to buy this over a Weber babyQ.

    • you are joking right?

I am a bit of a bbq enthusiast and

arent all the shitty babyq's gas powered? in which case hang your head in shame. your not even a bbq fan let alone enthusiast if you claim any gas grill is even close 2nd to a charcoal grill…..

as for the uneven heat, it is a bit of an issue but thats part of the glory of charcoal. its a learned skill unlike plonking your shitty $2 steak on a gas bbq, turning it every 30 seconds until its an overcooked tastless lump of cardboard…… all while slurping your can of fosters down….

You would be insane to buy this over a Weber babyQ.

just…. speechless…. its like comparing a hungry jacks "restaurant" to one with 5 michelin stars…

      lotus grill all the way

      • Shitty babyQ??

I'm not going to get into an arguement with you, rest assured I have 2 smokers, 1 roti, a weber kettle and an awesome GAS weber q220 which I use 2-3 times a week.

I never mentioned anything about coals vs gas, what I did say is that the babyQ craps all over this BBQ.

I'm glad you enjoy your lotusgrill.

        • you are clearly delusional

I never mentioned anything about coals vs gas

          but

all I have to say is I never thought it would be possible to get such uneven heat distribution on such a small bbq!

cooking with charcoal obviously has greater unevenness just by its very nature compared to carefully planned and spaced gas burner jets. so obviously you ARE comparing gas to charcoal. and the fact that you can cook a couple of massive steaks on a lotus with as little as 1/2 a cup of charcoal means you are obviously going to give up a little "perfect heat distribution" in favour of reduction in fuel use.

obviously any nutjob can own and drive a formula 1 car but just having the "tools" does not make said nutjob an expert formula 1 driver…… just because you own certain bbq's does not prove you have any clue what your talking about.

and just to compare bbqpeen as it seems you think that it somehow validates your opinions (why else would you have even mentioned it otherwise?) i also have an electric smoker and a charcoal offset smoker, a couple of webers as well which i never use any more. i also only use mallee lump charcoal because the brickettes also taste like arse in comparison imho. smoking i hate a variety of woods including redwood, almond, apricot, olive, plum, citrus and im sure others which i cant remember all cut myself from local trees.

          @nosdan:

Actually I'm not comparing, further to that I didn't even mention the words "gas" or "charcoal" in the sentence!
If you think cooking with charcoal = uneven cooking then you need to go back to bbq basics.

Furthermore you have gone so off track to my initial statement which is the babyq is a better bbq.

If you want to provide anything of use here I would recommend your reply be about how a lotusgrill is superior.

Some tips I can provide are that:
Weber is made with more quality grills
Bottle of gas per bag of charcoal is cheaper
Weber after sales support is second to none
You dont have to always buy lighting gel
Grill area on the weber is larger
Weber has more flexibility in what you could cook for eg whole chicken.

All this is worth the extra cost, feel free to post the positives of the lotusgrill.

PS If you want to sell any of your bbqs since you don't use them anymore and are in Sydney feel free to send me a msg with the models and a price.

I didn't even mention the words "gas" or "charcoal"

but… you are comparing a gas and charcoal bbq… so by default you are also comparing the 2 fuels. do you claim there is no difference to flavour between gas and charcoal? is that you hank hill?

If you want to provide anything of use here I would recommend your reply be about how a lotusgrill is superior.

          charcoal

argument over and as a BBQ fanatic its a clear and decisive victory

  • +4

I changed my mind about not negging.
    Cheaper elsewhere.

    • -7

lol .. i feel like ozbargain has turned into a online kindy .

Hope you feel better about negging.

Luckily for me , i dont take the internet seriously

      • +3

        Honestly what did you expect?
I actually started out by politely pointing out that its cheaper elsewhere but NOT negging your deal.
I like you and your posts fine easty, but you have put on the biggest display of male-PMT I have seen here in a while.
We are all friends here (sort of), no reason to act like a prick.
And I kinda do think you take the internet seriously, but thats OK ;)

      • +3

Your comment above proves otherwise. You're a sensitive one arent ya!

      • +1

@EC werent you one of the ones to have a public meltdown and/or threaten to quit posting or something on the forums here a while back?

might be getting you mixed up with some of the other deal spammers posters who did the same cry for attention….

        • -4

Looks to me like your the one crying for attention here from your comments. You've only posted 2 deals and now your an expert. Good on ya buddy

        • @easternculture: hahaha so that is a yes then? nice one.

there is a difference between pointing out someones bullshit and giving a soppy attention whoring "unless you tell me you love me ill [insert what ever thinly veiled threat here]"

          You've only posted 2 deals and now…….

im far to scared to post deals in case i end up turning out like you, with so little self confidence that the only positive thing in life you can use as a bragging right is an imaginary number on the internet. i can just picture your tombstone "here lies EC, they posted lots of deals to OzB"

          congratulations champ. well played

          @nosdan:

im far to scared to post deals in case i end up turning out like you

Your already showing low self esteem with only 2 deals

the only positive thing in life you can use as a bragging right is an imaginary number on the internet.

Its not imaginary, its real. And unlike you, alot of members appreciate the effort

          congratulations champ. well played

Thanks man (or woman), appreciate that

        • +3

          @easternculture:

Your already showing low self esteem with only 2 deals

Didn't realise self esteem was measured in deal post!

  • Cheaper elsewhere as detailed above.

Negging the deal not the OP's childish hissy fit
