Image storage is a bit more than 'slightly cheaper'. It's $11.99 a year! Very tempting.

    • On the other hand the free 1TB that flickr offers is already pretty close to unlimited if you are only storing photos.

  • Likely to start a bit of a chain reaction amongst competitor cloud storage providers.

  • Be mindful of this term. 3.2 Usage Restrictions and Limits. The Service is offered in the United States. We may restrict access from other locations.

  • I have found the Amazon Photo Cloud storage to be a bit slow. It took a long time for photos to upload to the cloud. How was everyone else's experince?

    • I'd be more interested in the download speed……. :)

  • Sadly only for the US as far as i can see. Could probably sign up through VPN, but not keen on doing that.

Why pay Amazon when Google Drive (easily vi G+), OneDrive, etc, offer basically free storage for most people?

    • Because this is unlimited?

      • For most people, the easily collected 300GB or so that I've got in Onedrive might as well be as well.

    • Is that unlimited storage for all files (videos etc)?
My one drive is 40GB, no idea about Google.

Why don't you try clicking the link?

        • I was replying to Mic Cullen about Google Drive, there is no link on their comment to click.

I'm really disappointed in this actually. I've been using Amazon Cloud Drive for a couple of years for my photo storage plus about 10GB of other random data.

I have been paying $25 USD per year for 50GB, and it suited me perfectly.

Rather than more than doubling my annual spend to $59.99, I've decided to move all of my data to Google Drive - $1.99 USD per month for 100GB. ($23.88 USD per year). Perfectly suits my needs. I don't need "unlimited" storage, and the $11.99 plan isn't any good because it only allows for 5GB of "other" storage.

This might be a good deal for those of you who have 200GB of photos and an ever growing collection, but it'll be a while before I fill this 100GB that I've just purchased from Google.

  • Looking at some of the outright creepy "Recommended for you" Amazon ads I get, they're about the last company I would trust with any personal info about me. Undisputed kings of data mining.
