iOS app launched on 23rd. After free launch special it will be $9.95/year. Looks promising: receipt scanning, personalised lists, graphs to tracks spending.

  • Android app will be released AFTER the first free month…!!???

  • +1

free for ever, or free for a limited time of use .
Above comment says 9.95 a year.

Download during our launch campaign and yours is FREE for LIFE

      • Thanks, I can only find "Download Trolley Saver FREE …. (free for limited time only)"

  • Downloaded as seems promising. Can't see shit on iPhone 4s display. Just see half a facebook login and I don't do fakebook. Optimised for iphone 5 onwards so what about us old school users??

    • +1

      Or us Andriod folk?

  • I could see this being worth the money if it could scrape the shopping websites of coles and woolworths and sort them by % discount. 2000 specials takes a long time to sort through

I think sorting by packaging colour would be more useful.

Not much point in getting the most savings if the colour clashes with the other items in your pantry.

        Can't argue with that logic

Doesn't work on 2 of my 3 ios devices, great idea poorly coded

    • I got past the home screen on my iPhone 4S to it asking me for my address & then a pin, then nothing more would work. So really it did nothing…

  • Doesn't work on IOS. The opening screen is cut off at the bottom, so there is nothing to click on.

  • Shame it doesn't work - it's a great idea though - and Im sure the developer realises this version is bugged and improves it for an update soon

  • Come on people it's available in English, Arabic, Bokmål, Norwegian, Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese. :) Android comes next :)

    So stop your bitching…. :)

BTW if there are bugs hopefully it will be resolved, great concept. And after it's been debugged, then android will surely get a version as well. Likewise for the older displays on IOS.

Voted postive as a way of encouraging the development of this useful concept.

  • Ultra buggy software, hope they fix it.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for the comments and encouragement! As you're no doubt aware, the server has crashed so the app is not working as it should.
Don't worry - the developers are going to cop it tomorrow!

    In other news:
    1) We will revisit the design so that it will work for iPhone 4, but you're right - it has been optimised for iPhone 5.
    2) We will look into Android in a month or so, so we can establish the best user experience from the start.
    3) The app is yours free for life - you won't be charged even when we change to a subscription model in the future.

Thanks again. Hopefully the servers are fixed tomorrow.

    Cheers
    Sam

  • Hi,
if it says free app for life then why I have been charged $6.49 after I downloaded it. Can you please clarify it.

  • Hi Rasika

There is NO WAY the $6.49 was charged from Trolley Saver. It has been marked as 'free' with no end date specified.

Also, there are no apps (or the App Store for that matter) that can charge your credit card unless you authorise it - so I suggest this charge is from another app.

    Sam

    • oh sorry. i will check for it. Sorry once again

  • No problem - if you email me your email address, I will happily share the screenshot of the Apple Developer page that will confirm this.

    =)

    My email is [email protected]

    Cheers

  • We're back up and running!

Sincerely sorry that the server went down yesterday. Thank you all for your patience

    Best regards,
    Sam

  • I can't get passed the page where I enter my pin?

    • Let me look into this and fix it for you. Your email address was registered correctly so I will reply directly to that…

      Cheers
      Sam

      • I received your email and can log in now.

        Thanks

  • We're back up and running!

Really. All I can see on loading is a Dutch looking lady with a shopping basket is some specialty Latvian produce supermarket with half of a "connect with facebook" button which opens a new screen. I don't do facebook. What are my options?

    • I meant the server is back up and running. We haven't finished coding so that it can be viewed on all iOS - still optimised for iPhone 5 onwards.

There are options to signup and login without Facebook but unfortunately those buttons aren't visible on iPhone 4 (or iPad for that matter). Please bear with me - Hopefully will get a version out soon!

  • This is an awesome concept! I scanned a couple of receipts and a few hours later I've got categorised purchasing history. I'm keen to see how this translates to "your specials" when I've inputted more receipts.

The specials section is probably the least polished part. It only loads 5 specials at a time and is very slow to load more. Also - and this is the biggest issue so far I think - sort doesn't work like I would expect. When sorting by anything other than the default (e.g. biggest % savings), it sorts by that field within the category. While this might be useful sometimes, it would be better to sort in an absolute sense ("what is the biggest saving this week across all categories").

So long as the devs take feedback on board, I think this will be a very good app.

Amazing, can see a bright future, especially amongst the OzBargain community, any idea how I can invest as a silent equity partner and reap millions later on?
