For my 2c I got the DC35 to do my staircase (12 steps) and also my huge bedroom (64mSQ 8x8).
I could not be happier and have not run out of battery yet, I can do the Bedroom, landing (12mSQ), steps and rugs downstairs plus bathroom (9mSQ), office (12mSQ) and WIR (7mSQ) all on 1 charge. All areas are charcoal twist pile except bathroom.
It's great for the stairs…….
The dust canister is the same on both models AFAIAA and that's full long or I lose interest in vacuuming long before the battery drains.
I have never had to push the turbo button so don't see that a stronger motor is that beneficial. Would have no hesitation going for the lower rated model again.
