Sammy phones are getting a heck of a lot more expensive that is for sure.

    • I actually agree!

    • I agree too. Samsung have maintained their prices and are chasing Apple, won't work. They should have maintained the cheaper case and sold these for $500.

      • I would think the majority of people would prefer a quality product that will last the 2 years that they'll most likely sign up for on a plan!

        • LG G3. Enough said.

  • Will be interesting if its better than iphone or not

Held the s6 edge and its amazing.

Sammy has really improved the quality and workmanship to equal if not surpass iphone

10min charge for 4hrs battery life! Bring it on!

      • dude where? are they instore already? please share

      • Are you sure it wasnt the Note Edge?

        • Not out yet guys but i was fortunate to be at right place at right time. A Samsung manager had 1 of only 3 in the country at the time of the Barcelona announcement, and yeah it's like no other previous Samsung phone that's for sure.

The note edge curves on the right side and has a prominent edge where you can clearly display information. The S6 edge is on both sides but it's subtle, and the edge area is quite small. But very cool anyway

  • OUCH

Why won't they put this on ebay…

  • how long is delivery? Interesting there is a discount already.

  • not a very significant discount htc one m9 got into the $800s. If your already on a plan of $35-40 or more its probably worth getting it through optus or virgin or (don't know about telstra, they're fast but expensive), handset repayment comes much cheaper and you get a $100 visa gift card if you're a student.

    • Buy outright with vaya plan will be half the price of a telstra or optus plan

      • is vaya 4g? how many gb? unlimited calls and text? reception and speed as good as optus?
compare it to the optus deal which includes $10 discount every month if ur a broadband customer and $100 visa card.
so from each of the optus deals subtract $340. (10x24=240)+100=$340

        • Yep uses the Optus 4G Network and $18 a month will give you $650 of calls and 1.5GB of data. So thats $432 over 24 months.
I'm a TPG Customer so I save money there as well then being on Optus Internet.

        • @asa79: optus still seems like a better deal, unlimited calls and text 3 gigs data, and some other stuff, for 1484 after the discounts i mentioned are applied, so turns out your paying 484 dollars for 2 years plan! So how is it not a better deal? So for an extra 50$ you get double data and unlimited calls an text. Im pretty sure that is the obvious better deal

        • @striker5950: You forgot to add on your internet plan cost as well, it all adds up

        • @asa79: what do you mean add your internet plan cost? lol
if you have optus broadband which im sure lot of people on ozbargain do, its a great deal. even beats buying it outright and getting a vaya plan.

It says in the terms and conditions that the S6 and S6 Edge are excluded (like many other items)?

iPhone prices. Samsung is believing its own hype.

Took away the SD card slot and removable battery, made a metallic case, jacked up the prices. Basically an iPhone wannabe now.

    • Yeah, no, you're totally right, the 14nm SoC, QHD AMOLED display, LPDDR4 RAM and UFS 2.0 storage basically count for nothing, right? Where's my pitchfork, damn it?!

      • Those are just natural evolution. Every phone increases its specs each year.

The metal casing looks like a reaction to criticism from iphone owners about cheap plastic. Everything else I listed is a bit surprising and uncharacteristic of the Galaxy line.

  • Did anyone actually click through and order to confirm this deal worked? Because it clearly states: "Excludes… Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge" NO DEAL!

  • -4

It looks to be priced higher than the iPhone 6

  • As pointed out earlier, fine print says S6 and S6 Edge are excluded. I just saw it.

    positive vote revoked.

At the time of posting, applying the code worked.obviously shortly after they have adjusted the 7% offer and added it to the exclusion list. Apologies for those it didn't work for

  • Wow, how unusual for Dick to change a deal midstream!

Yes Schumi5, Dick's not a silly willy when it comes to gouging the market for all they can get!

    • Giving people false hope should be their catchphrase. With the amount of times I have been refunded or stuffed around by them, I don't bother anymore.

At least on their eBay site, you have some buyer protection..
