VIPRE Internet Security 2015 - 1 PC - PC Lifetime $19.99USD @ Newegg

30

Vipre seems to have a good rep among techs (affiliated with GFI remote admin system, which is very popular) although I have not seen a lot about it in independent av reviews. This seems like a really good deal. The product is usually $35 per year. I had a look the setup on newegg (which doesnt usually offer its specials to oz customers in my experience) and the site gave me the option to purchase specifying "australia" as the digital delivery destination, so looks like a legit offer for ozbargainers.

Not sure how long it will last, but its on there at the time of writing this.

Thanks Jim - great bargain. I've used Vipre for years and years and love it. Very low resource utilisation, and most reviews/comparisons give it equal top or 2nd place in terms of detecting all possible malware.
My home license expires in November ($250 for 10 PCs for 3 years) so I've bought 5 of these lifetime subscriptions for $99 from Newegg.
Only drama was that it wouldn't ship to Australia or an Australian paypal account so had to lie about my address.
(Remember, if you're pretending you're in the states, choose a state that doesn't have sales tax - I usually go with the address of any Hilton hotel in Oregon.

  • $250 for antivirus?
    Wow.

    • $25 per machine. Not so much "wow".

  • Well that'd be the cost to renew the subscription at current pricr… I got the original license for $100 or thereabouts.

  • so you only pay once and there is no need to renew licence every year ever?

Correct - that's the idea of a lifetime licence.

  • Do they have one for Mac OS X?

  • Dammit, just went to get another copy and no longer "shipping" to Australia.

And for US orders they only accept either a PayPal account with verified US address, or a billing address that's in the same country as the shipping address. Anyone know a way around this?

    • Ah, worked it out - added a US shipping account to my AU PayPal account and shipped to that address via PayPal checkout. Seems to have worked.
