Logitech MX Master should be released pretty soon. Should see the m950 being sold as clearance

    • It's taken ~10 years to finally have a successor to the MX revolution.

The king is dead, long live the king.

I'll be picking one up on the first bargain posted, or I might have to pay retail if it doesn't happen soon enough.

      • I will be also keeping a very close eye on the mx master. Should be good

      • I had to replace a button switch in my MX revo last year; I can't let go of that sweet autoswitching scroll wheel.

Am I the only one that hates their auto switching wheels? I like flicking the heavy wheel with the clicks on so it only scrolls half way down and not all the way to the bottom at 100km/h

        • Which button?

I've got 2 myself and I don't see a need to replace them, but the master finally has all the functions of the MX Revolution (including the scroll wheel and a better side scrolling wheel + USB charging), and also having the gesture pad on the thumb rest.

It also comes down to the software. Uberoptions on the MX revolution has become a imperative for me, so I hope that the software for the Master is as good, or that 3rd party software becomes available.

I'm just excited to be exited about a mouse after so long!

        • @krisspy:

With software you can change the strength needed, or even disable it completely leaving a button to switch between modes. You can go as light as a feather or require a herculean effort to get it to engage.

Give me the option and control over not having the function at all.

        • @c0balt: I was under the impression that the switching was mechanical and was fixed???

        • @krisspy:

You can set in software the pressure required to switch between click to click and free spin for the scroll wheel, or disable it completely.

It's controlled by a motorised ratchet with varying resistance.

I use my MX Revo at work.
One of the best mouse ever
I use this at home and its killer :D

        • @c0balt: My right mouse button stopped working after about 6 years, so I bought a new microswitch and soldered it in. Mouse is good as new again.

      • The new MX master uses a lithium polymer battery, which will eventually cease to hold a charge, and it'll end up like the Mx1000 - useless.

        • the battery is pretty easy to replace, I did it a couple of years ago. Not AA easy, but it's only a 10 minute job with a couple of screwdrivers.

        • @freefall101: It's not too bad if you can find one, but they aren't nearly as common as AA cells, nor as safe.

I still think this is a good deal, the revolution price didn't drop much lower when the performance was released. The MX will also be $130 so a reasonable difference there.

Heres a review of the upcoming MX Master here for anyone interested.

    • without a doubt its a great deal. sure not as great as $60 from LTS (i think thats the lowest it has ever been for that mouse). infact i bought mine from DSE with the ctech20 ebay code. but still a very good price

long story short, excellent mouse, excellent value for money for $70.

      Wipe up drool

  • wonder what the T stands for?

  • Like my M950 very much. The MX Master looks like a good replacement if it dies.

  • Can you use 2 of these in the same room on 2 computers? (One on each computer)

    • +1

It has pairing, so I'd assume that is yes.

      yeh. works fine.
i always swap mouse with myy mate when he leaves the rooom to do something.
most of the time he thinks the battery is dead.

  • Mouse also same price at Officeworks now (so we can't pricematch, boooo!) http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/logitech-m950…

    • The price on display was $139.95, both in store and online, when I approached Officeworks on 11/4/2015, so I got mine for $65.50.
