any body please help is this a good price?
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Yardstore-Garden-Shed-G88-Slate-/…
    only for 400$

    • It's a good price, especially given that it's painted (the plain stainless steel ones are cheaper). For that size, definitely cheap.
Be careful, though. These things are not easy to assemble, especially if you haven't done it before. I spent over a day with two people assembling a smaller version. And that does not include laying a concrete slab to put it on (you will need that). For one that's 2.8x2.8m, you would want to outsource the slab and take the costs for that into consideration too.
      The delivery is quite affordable.

It's not painted for a start and the base material is NOT stainless steel nor is the "plain" one stainless steel. You might want to look at both what stainless steel looks like and the cost!

Zincalume sheds have a alloy coating of zinc and aluminium and can last four times longer than a regular galvanised steel surface whereas Colorbond has two coats baked onto modified Zincalume (modified to ensure adhesion of the coats). As to which one is best this is hard to answer as it depends on the environment and the cost is higher for the Colorbond sheds.

Be careful, though. These things are not easy to assemble, especially if you haven't done it before. I spent over a day with two people assembling a smaller version.

They're not that hard to assemble if you follow the instructions.

And that does not include laying a concrete slab to put it on (you will need that).

Many of the sheds can be mounted on large concrete pavers (unless you live in a cyclone area) and bases can even be purchased with many sheds.

        • These are a bastard to assemble, if you value your time a truck delivered one from stratco comes in full panels and will save yourself at least 6 hours work, plus another 6 hours trying to keep the kids away from the 1000s of razor sharp edges during construction.

        • I agree, they're crap!
For a starter, they don't have an actual frame. You screw the side panels together with tec screws then slot them onto a pissy u channel section top and bottom. You then join the four panels up in the corners with 3 more screws. The roof is similar in 2 panels that are a bastard to slot together and mount to the wall channels. The doors are also incredibly flimsy even with the cross straps screwed on.
It will take you some time to build as you'll find that the pre punched holes do not line up 100%, so you'll have to twist and contort it into shape!
In all honestly, the whole thing is that flimsy a construction that one or two decent kicks would probably tear the panels apart!
Ps. Even the way the padbolt screws on is flimsy and crap. I purchased my own padbolt and modified the door with a piece of steel behind to at least stop a kid from being able to break it!

        • I think i paid $280 for mine which was 1.1m deep and 2.9m wide. that was the only upshot. The locks are completely laughable.

Also its all screw assembly anyway so you can just unscrew the lock. much better to get rivet together sheds

  • Even with 20% off, many items are still more expensive than other stores. For example this vacuum cleaner cost $79 with $5 flat shipping at Bing Lee, whereas at Masters it will cost $96 even after 20% discount. Seems like they first jacked up prices by 20%, then advertised 20% off everything sale ….. old dirty rotten marketing practice to fool people ….

    • +1

Why not just price beat 10% then if u find it cheaper elsewhere.

      • +2

Good idea but his point is to alert everyone not to believe 20% off is the cheapest before you do some price search.

Many items or just a few?

Seems like they first jacked up prices by 20%, then advertised 20% off everything sale

So why are the prices the same as their website and in store before the 20% off?

old dirty rotten marketing practice to fool people ….

Utter bollocks, you're making false and misleading claims about Masters with the use of ONE example. Seems that the only person fooled here is yourself.

Can't edit my other post but just compared a few random cleaners not one that I cherry picked to show Masters in a bad light (Bunnings employee perhaps??)

      Dyson DC59 Cleaner
      $548 - http://www.binglee.com.au/dyson-dc59-animal-handstick-vacuum…
      $548 before 20% discount of $109.60 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-Cordless-Handstick-Vacuum-C…

      Dyson DC50 Cleaner
      $588 - http://www.binglee.com.au/dyson-dc50-multi-floor-upright-vac…
      $598 before 20% discount of $119.60 - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dyson-DC50-Upright-Vacuum-Cleaner…

And there were plenty of other examples where Masters were around the price of BingLee and these prices also aligned with their website/store price.

Who cares in some pays $17 more one vacuum cleaner! You can save well over $100 by buying Dyson from Masters so should Bing Lee be attacked for having such high prices?

  • thanks op

anyone have feedback on the troy bilt 4 stroke trimmers? i have read honda's 4 stroke gx35's are better known, but really is there any difference? wondering if both are built in the same factory in thailand..

    • +1

I've got a troy bilt for 2 years and it is OK. No mixing fuel and oil is a bless. However you should watch their YouTube video for the correct way to re-string the bump head before you use it, or it will keep jamming.

      • thanks for the tip, appreciate it :)

  • Can anyone recommend a good/semi-decent pressure washer from this deal? Primary puspose will be washing driveway/paving first before a seal and after every couple of weeks if needed. And the occasional car wash.

    • +1

I bought this http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/221619679205 , worx 1.5, few months back when they had on special around $120. So far it works well. You can get additional 1 yr warranty on top of the 2 yrs warranty..
