    For those TL;DR OZB skim readers:
    N.B. these are USB 2.0 drives. i.e. a "3 Pack" of "V20 USB" drives, not a "Pack" of "V20 USB 3" drives :-}

    • i was trying to google that. ~ thanks

    These are about 4-6MB/s write and 18-25MB/s read.
    Okay if you're just storing a few documents though a bit slow for copying larger files.. You're looking at about 5 minutes to copy a 720p movie, 7-10 for a HD movie.. If you're wanting to copy uncompressed game files you're looking at well over an hour.

    TL;DR: these are not a replacement to copying files over your network. They are slow. These are simply for storing a few small documents on.

      Is anyone really looking to copy uncompressed game files with these?

    • I think many uncompressed games now are larger than 8Gb, you would probably want to use a 32Gb or larger USB drive.

      • Modernday games indeed are, but for those like myself who enjoy GTA:SA, COD2, hell even the older Sims and age of empires games.. Most of those would fit on 8GB with a far bit to spare.

        I was more commenting for anyone considering using them for copying video files or movies/TV shows though. Yeah, it'll do the job.. Slowly.

    Similar to the normal price of these at Officeworks: http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/sandisk-8gb-c… I've been using them for a while and they're very very good. Compact size, well built metal construction and seem to be very reliable as I haven't had a problem yet.

    • Whats the speed like on the Sandisk ones? Been thinking of using them for Hirens boot 'CD', DOS startup disk, firmware updating etc.

        I've never actually tested them but they work just as well as all the other 'branded' USB2 memory I've used in the past. I got about 100 of them to hand out whenever people ask for them at work and I've had none back but I have used some 'no-name' ones in the past that haven't even worked out of the pack so I'm liking these for obvious reasons ;)

  • Good deal but who buys these? I have a pile of them, people just give them to you. And not all the crap promo one either

  • Great deal, thank you Trent86.

  • I picked up my click n collect this morning and got another pack for a friend. TGG Hectorville sold the pack off the shelf for $9 , looks like my friend is getting the $9.95 pack :)
