Thanks. Grabbed the [+] Trip Vent Mount for my partner.

Received my [+] Drive Mount yesterday from the eBay sale and was impressed.

  • Just grabbed the Z240 (don't ask why I buy so many speakers). Thanks!

Why do you buy so many speakers?

Turns out I have a massive cyst on the brain causing anger issues among other things. I'm organising my surgery tonight, was told this morning.

        • +3

I hope your surgery goes well and you get happier.

          One + = One Prayer

I hope the surgery doesn't damage your hearing at the very least.

    • My son trialed a set of these 2 days ago, they have the logitech hum big time :(
They were returned the mext day.

      • Just turn it up for what :) Then you don't hear the hum.

Can anyone vouch if the Philips Headphones are good?

    • Are they not? Philips is a brand the Chinese LOVE and will pay Western prices for even though they are Made in China!

For the price it's almost a no-brainer :) It also has some really good reviews by the way. Some people have compared them to $100 headsets.

Phillips is good, cant go wrong for $16

I purchased one last time it was on special. I think it was for $21. For that price they are very good. I have Sen HD202 II also and sound quality is similar.

Only thing I don't like is that they are not completely over ear. They are closed but not sealed as I can still hear noises of people talking in the room.

If you don't mind the over ear aspect, then I think it is the best price for it.

There's nothing wrong with the sound quality, it's as good anything within the sub-$100 dollar price bracket, but there's everything wrong with the design and comfort of these. They become incredibly uncomfortable after a mere 20-30 minutes of use, even more so if you have a large head. As already stated, they are not circumaural (fully enclosing the ears) but supra-aural; they press onto your ears, hence the discomfort and poor noise isolation.

See my post here. Philips make the best budget cans imho, my personal pick for a budget would be the SHL3000.

      • I'm a little confused. In your link you state avoid the SHL3000, and here you say your personal pick for budget would be the SHL3000???

Edit: I think you just mixed up the two models, SHL and SHP. Looks like your pick is the SHP not L

I personally love the Philips SHL 3300 Very powerful DJ/Monitor style with clean natural sound, plenty of deep bass and solid build.
If you can find under $100 or sometimes even $70 they are great value. They fold up compact too for travelling, single sided fixed coiled cord, partly on ear but comfortable with good sound isolation and little sound leak.

        • You're right, I was meaning to deter people from buying the SHL3000, as they are crap (and I speak from first-hand experience as mine are gathering dust in a drawer somewhere; the cups are way too small and the sound is tinny). The SHP3000 are solid; again, speaking from experience.

I also own the SHL3300 and while the sound quality is once again, very commendable, the comfort factor just isn't there (the same failings as their little cousin, the SHL3100). I managed to pick them up on sale at DSE for around $60-ish a long time ago, but they have been cheaper since. It's a moot point for me really as all of my budget Philips cans have taken a backseat to my Fidelio X1s, which are my default cans these days.

        • @Amar89:

Thanks for the tip on the Fidelio X1's
Have read that these are really good, just have to find them for a good low price.

        • @ozhunter68: Unfortunately they've yet to dip back to their all-time low of $149 + Shipping. That was stupendously good value and the dollar was still decent back then too.

The X2s are out now as well, basically the same deal but with a lower impedance cable (the only failing of the X1; though you can switch it out with any 3rd-party cable you like), removable ear pads and supposedly a more "neutral" soundstage. Very thorough review here if you're interested.

Dont assume any brand makes all good anything. I have three Philips headphones, as the 1st I bought years ago was the best allround for me (SBC HL140, very light & great sound). So I bought two more recently.

HP1900 (Kogan) - comfy but sound quality clearly much, much worse.
      and
Philips Notebook Headphones, https://www.catchoftheday.com.au/product/philips-notebook-he… - rediculous design, are they made for heads with ears, really? If you can use these hphones AND have ears please contact me immediately :-)
      Crap sound and fit!

Another words try in store if possible.

The Pioneer DJ headphones appears to be out of stock :( Lets you add it to cart, but can't finalise.

  • anyone have any recommendations for some wireless over-ear headphones for running/gym. My ear holes don't seem to support any in-ear earphones unfortunately..

  • SHL4500 Requires shipping for me. None around my way.

  • Bought the Logitech Trip for $22 something delivered.

    • Don't you need the Case+ to be able to use it?

      • No, is optional. The mount comes with a solution that's supposed to work in with your existing case.

The SHE3905WT is 40% off the already 50% off - all the other colours say 50% off and are at $20. With the 8% it comes down to $11.02 - http://www.dicksmith.com.au/in-ear-earphones/philips-in-ear-…

Either way, they're $25US on Amazon.com and head-fi reviews of them seem pretty good, so I ordered :)

    • Have you taken a look at the Kenu? Comes in a larger size now, Kenu Airframe+ I think. I've had the original for over a year and it's done a good job.

  • Again no stock in Canberra for Philips SHL4500!

  • Went for the Acer E5-571-52, reduced from $699-$599 and with flash8off it came down to $551, not bad for a 5th gen I5 laptop. Only had 4GB ram, extra module is $45 to bring it to 8GB ……….. sons new minecraft machine.

    • In description is also Intel HD4400, that's 4th generation cpu graphics, hope it's just a typo.
