Lynda.com has great courses. Hardly 'low level'. I've learned more out of some Lynda courses than I did at uni.

Hi. I asked for specific examples. If you look under Teaching, they're basically wikipedia articles in video form. So please do share

  • I became a member of QLD Library but I did not receive any membership number…Any info how to get it?

    • Maybe they'd heard about / read this page & have their IT guru's mapping IP address to states/territories, & bouncing those NOT in Qld…?

        Here are their IT gurus.

Not quite sure, but I was able to log in when they asked me for a SLQ username and password. Just go through the linked image, not the link in the description

Anyone know if we can download the courses for offline viewing? Thanks.

    • Yes..Use this plugin in Chrome.

  • Thank you so much. Been wanting to invest in Lynda for some time, check back on them a couple of times a year to see if prices have dropped enough to pull the trigger, never been the case though.

  • Was able to log in first time after registering. However, a few hours later tried to log in again with same user id and password and it didn't work. Anybody else have the same problem?

    • Yeh. Was working yesterday but not now… do we have to login during library opening hours lol

    • Still working for me…. :)

    • Same here. I can't log in to the new account I made yesterday. I followed the steps again to sign in with my old Lynda.com account that I used to use and I got access. But I tried to sign in again with a different browser and now I can't get in and get this message:

      Permission denied

You are trying to log in from an IP address that is not associated with a lynda.com account. For additional assistance, use our Contact Us form or call Customer Service at 1 (888) 335-9632 or +1 (805) 477-3900.

  • I signed up with no problems but now it's giving me this error when I try to log in again:

    "Permission denied

I'm using my genuine library account so not sure what's going on? Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, I get that as well.
I believe that Lynda is denying access to those that don't have a QLD IP address.

      • It's weird though, since I'm in QLD so I definitely have a local IP address. I know it's free so I'm not losing out on anything but it's pretty disappointing as I've wanted to access Lynda for years :(

        • What you can do is,(works for me) is just reapply the same steps as before(same lydna account is fine), and you'll have full access for the next hour or so.
It's a pain, but it works.

        • @edfrane:

You need to login via http://wwwlyndacom.ezystate.slq.qld.gov.au/

This will stop the ip error

        • @thirtysixd:
          Thanks,
How do I get the "6 digit Payroll No" though?

        • it's locked to library IP's. Rang Lynda, and they said i'd have to be at the library to use :(

    • I think you're trying lynda.com.

      You should connect via https://wwwlyndacom.ezystate.slq.qld.gov.au/Login/

      • I tried your link and it takes me to this:

"Access to the requested resource is generally available to Queensland Health Hospital and Health Service staff. If you are unable to login to the resource, either contact your local Queensland Health Library or register as a client with your local Queensland Health Library at: http://www.health.qld.gov.au/libraries/client-rego-new.asp"

  • Ozbargained?

  • I can confirm logging in through the eastern regional libraries link on their site for lynda with another libraries details, in my case; Melton libraries; my library number & pin; has given me full access to lynda.

  • Man this is great

Just downloaded several courses that I couldn't find anywhere on the usual sites

  • Rang Lynda, and this deal is only usable if you are actually at the library. Locked to the library IP addresses it seems.

    • Can confirm it does work from home.

  • Absolutely fantastic!

Link given in the description didn't work anymore. After some poking around on their site, it seems it's now disabled for public library members and requires a QLD State Library membership. Which can be signed up for easily online with supplying an address in QLD.

    Instructions are at:
