In the Back to School section there is an insulated Frozen Lunch bag. I've seen this product in other shops but never in Woolworths. The price advertised for Woolworths is $8. This is the best price I have seen it at. Best and Less are currently selling them at $15.

    Thanks OP.

  • Can you use Vodafone credit in play store?
    Thanks

      This guy serious?

      • +2

If you don't ask, you'll never know for sure…

    • +2

      Sadly not available for Vodafone.
Only Optus and Telstra (along with some resellers) support carrier billing with Google Play in Australia.

      • Thanks Dyl.

Didn't realise Optus had carrier billing :-)

        • Only on certain plans, though I'm not sure which.
I've been on a few optus prepaid plans and all stated it's not supported.. May only be on postpaid where they can directly bill you for purchases.
Telstra defiently provides it on most (all?) prepaid plans though.

        • how about use it to buy riot point for lol?

        • @adpaholic: Don't think so, tried making a purchase with Jagex to use up $50 credit from starter sim but got a "Transaction Failed - Insufficient funds" text. League also uses Boku and in the small text it states "Vodafone Pre Pay Cap customers are not supported."

        • @adpaholic:
Most premium content seems not to be available on prepaid with Vodafone sadly.

Telstra works with this when there's half priced starter kits (only certain plans), though it's only about the same value as buying RP cards.

You get 1630 RP with $1 left over when using a $30 ($15) Telstra starter kit. A $10 card gets you 1100RP, which equates to a cost of $14.81 for 1630. A $25 card equates to $14.41. If you have a use for the $1 credit when using Telstra sims, it's $14.50 for 1630, if not it's $15. Never really worth it, sadly. Now for those lucky enough to be on the old Woolworths mobile plan… Enjoy your 1630RP, 5GB data and $470 call/text credit on a 45day expiry for $26.

        • @dyl:
          what is RP cards?

        • @xavster:
Above was asking about League of Legends Riot Points. RP = Riot Points. They're prepaid cards for content on League.

        • @dyl:

          Enjoy your 1630RP, 5GB data and $470 call/text credit on a 45day expiry for $26?

so this kind of old plan can use credit to buy RP point? but why 1630 RP only? because 26 dollar?

        • @adpaholic:
Mobile payment prices are different to actual RP prices as boku and your mobile provider both take a cut. It's an Optus reseller plan, usually the credit is only usable for Optus premium content not actual third-party purchases, though I guess they forgot about that on this plan? It's the old woolworths mobile plan, it changed to pure Optus branding last year, that was when the credit became usable for third party content. Guess it was a bit of a mistake by Optus, don't tell them though.. :P

Edit: It costs $26, though you get $30 usable credit BTW. The $26 price is an online recharge special.

      • Would be great if Twitch has in app purchases (instead of sub), so we could use the mobile credits for watching streams in HD…

    • I think the value in Vodafone's 'Kit, is that one can stream freely at every weekend, to/from mobile 4G LTE. Will collect a spare SIM for a flexible_100gigs..:-)

  • Nudie 2L juice $5. Save $1.45. It doesn't get any lower than this unfortunately.
Oak Milk 3L $6. I'm unsure of the usual price but 2L is $5.65 at the moment. Hopefully I can find Iced Coffee flavour.

Hopefully I can find Iced Coffee flavour.

      Can you shake?

      • Mmmm Bickfords is tasty.

    • +1

There's no caffeine in it. Just saying

      • Oak it is then. I need caffeine.

        • oak doesnt have it…
you mean you dont need caffeine?

        • @astarman: Oh I thought you meant Bickfords had no caffeine. Sorry parallax error.

    • Last time I tried Oak Iced Coffee it was terribad.

      • +1

Not as good as Ice Break but still good. I had a few during the Buy 1 Get 2 Free 7-11 sale.

  • +3

So a $40 opal recharge and get a $30 Vodafone starter for $5

    • $40 of cherry

    • +1

Will this work? Does Opal topup count as groceries? Woolies wouldn't give my targetted offer of $10 off $40 spend for Opal topup.

  • +3

Thanks for taking the time to scan the pages

    • No worries! Taken with a phone camera hence the dodgy quality.

    • -3

      Sarcasm or sincere?

  • Nice! I'll have to stock up on the Vida packs. Thanks op

    • Silly question: If you're stocking up on the packs, does that mean you can activate them at a later time (say, the end of the year)? Or is there usually an expiry on them so that you need to activate it asap?

      Thanks for any help!

      • No there's an expiry date on the packs (normally a year or two (or three)) in advance. So yes, can activate at a later time.

  • +2

Savoury shapes etc at $1.49 per packet, then use the voucher for 15% off when you spend $15 or more on biscuits (AAH3JNM3). Nice!!

  • Wonder if the Voda is one per EDR card? Or can you split your shop.

    • +20

I personally find it useful to know the specials before the week starts so we can plan meals for the week after and also to avoid buying something this week that could be much cheaper next week.

      • +2

We do our shopping on a Tuesday or Wednesday, so you can see what's on special both weeks.

      • If you buy the same things regularly that's great (because you already know the sizes). I was interested in the blue cheese… but the pic is so small I can't see which one is cheaper per kg. But that's ok - obviously I'm one of the ones that can wait til later.

    • i just asked a genuine question. wtf the neggers? i can see the negger's names from 9 up-voters for dodger's response.

btw, i agree with dodger and am not saying its useless.

      • +6

Negged because you asked a question in a manner that was attacking. Grocery deals are the most popular on here and people appreciate seeing the catalogues early.

  • Vodafone currently has unlimited weekend downloads (until 26/04), just wondering if this $30 sim will work for that.

    • yep

  • +1

    50cents off a chicken!! Bargain

  • By the looks of this, the lack of EDR in Tassie makes the voda deal without a spend.

    No spend necessary?

  • To get it for $5 do you need to buy the Vodafone $30 Prepaid Cap Starter Kit at the same time as the $30 spend or can you scan your EDR card later and still get the discount if you have recently spent $30 or more and scanned your EDR card?

Good as the photos are, I can't read the fine print so I might need to try it myself unless someone can answer it? Thanks.

    • The catalogue is up on the Woolies website and it doesn't say much but I gather that you take the docket which shows that you have qualified to the service desk and buy the kit there. Maybe someone can confirm my interpretation?

      • +2

Last time with the Telstra $30 for $1 EDR deal, you had to purchase the pack at the same time as over $30 of groceries and scan your EDR card at the same time, then the discount was automatically applied. In practice there was a bit of confusion though.

        • +2

Ok, this morning I did a $40 Opal topup with EDR. My docket had a note saying that I was eligible to purchase the $30 starter kit for $5 up till 23/4. Probably it's recorded in the EDR account so I think in theory you could do it in one go.

However there were no starter kits anywhere near the checkouts. When I asked at the service desk, they directed me to the Internet section on the 2nd floor, this was Town Hall Woolies. They had lots of starter kits in the display but the lady said there were problems in the system causing it to be scanned at full price and to come back later after they had fixed up the system.

        • +2

          @greenpossum:
          Good to know cheers.
BTW they should have manually done it for you, specially if you had the voucher.

        • +2

@King Tightarse: I think it's the EDR record that matters, not the docket. Anyway I didn't want be an AH, I'm sure I can get a kit before the 23rd or a raincheck.

        • +4

@King Tightarse: OK just got the kit. Reduces to $5 on scanning the EDR. So one per EDR card.

        • @greenpossum: Sweet, just what I needed for the massive GTA V download =P

Now to find something to buy that is worth $30 in woolworths…

        • @greenpossum:
So I can still spend $30 on the 23rd to get this deal?
I got a spend $30 and get $10 off email for my EDR so am hoping I can do both at once tomorrow.

        • +1

          @dan76n:

Once the $10 discount comes off, your final total for the transaction will still have to be over $30 in order to qualify for the Vodafone deal.

        • +1

@dan76n: I think this EDR special expired on Tue 21st. It's the redemption of the bonus that can be done until the 23rd.

  • Successfully got two packs at a Woolies in Launceston, no $30 purchase required.
Although I got the old pack with a manufactured date of 2012. Is it right they don't expire?

    • Dunno, but mine has a manufacture date of 09/2014. Can't see an expiry date. Boy business must be slow for VF SIMs in Tassie.

      • They had to dig down the back of that gift card stall to get it. It is a full size sim.

        • Does it work for 4G?

        • @greenpossum: I'm not sure yet (no full sized devices on me atm) but I'll eventually have to get a sim swap done anyway.
          [manufacture date of 23/02/2012 btw]

        • @Food: Ok it's all good, another store had normal new sims and I just swapped them over.
