          Um … and?

        • +1

          Its 4% tea lol

        • +1

@eXtremist: Well I doubt your regular cup of tea is anywhere near that in actual tea percentages. Probably not even close to 1%.

        • +1

@Diji1: yes and doesnt have that much sugar

I know tea and Lipton Ice Tea is not it. Not a bad soft drink though.

You've not travelled much to the US then…

        • +2

Actually, I spent more time there that I would care to admit. And yes, I had to order 'hot tea' at restaurants to get regular tea.

Then you're familiar with American Iced Tea….

    • For someone who usually points out Chobanni Greek youghurt isn't real Greek, you're pretty lenient on this one…

I liked the green tea with mango, but I think it may be discontinued one. :(

Bought a few bottles from my local Woolies, they seemed to have plenty of stock. Green tea with citrus, black tea with lemon, black tea with peach.

  • +1

Just saw someone walking out of Woolworths drinking one of these lol

    • Warm?

      • -1

nah he also bought some ice.

    Grabbed some yesterday, great deal.

Just remember these are no healthy tea drink. They are packed full of sugar just as much as soft drink.

    • The 250ml bottle contains almost 40% of sugar daily intake. Imagine the 1.5L one can give you…

        240%

        • I'll admit I laughed pretty damn hard at that.

        • no one asked the question.

        • @zan123:

          no one asked the question.

        • @A3Australia: there was no question mark.

        • @zan123:

there (sic) was no question mark.

True, there was no question mark, and the "what" was also missing. However, I though that the "…" implied a question.

I used to drink these on the daily, then realised why I was feeling tired and lethargic afterwards (doh!). Turns out these give you a big sugar rush, then you crash hard afterwards.

      YMMV!

However, look at the amount of sugar on the back of the bottle, then divide this number by 4 to get the teaspoon quantity.

Take, for example the lemon one, which has 13g of sugar per 250ml = 78g of sugar per 1.5L bottle.

      78/4 = 19.5tsp rounded up to 20tsp.

Now imagine yourself making 1.5L of tea, then putting 20 teaspoons of sugar in it. You wouldn't, would you?
(Visualising everything this way has helped me cut down sugar alot, not trying to put anyone off, but this is the reality of things that taste good :)

I remember doing a First Aid course and the instructor suggested Lipton Ice tea as the best source of sugar for a Diabetic experiencing Hypoglycaemia.

Before that never realised that there was so much sugar in these things.

      • +1

The "sugar rush and crash" you feel is actually serotonin levels spiking and then dropping. Alcohol and refined starches (eg. white flour) cause a similar reaction although how severe it is varies between individuals.

    • +4

There is a light version with artificial sweetener. They taste OK.

    • +2

Absolutely loaded with sugar, no reason for it, iced tea is supposed to be slightly sweetened only. I buy these and water them down, much better that way.

      • The reason is an effort to make people drink as much as possible of this particular product.

    • They are packed full of sugar just as much as soft drink.

The light version has hardly any sugar in it.

      • +1

yeah but doesn't it have artificial sweetener? even worse for you long term. Better to just buy the sugar version and water it down, or make your own.

        • Yeah that sounds like a good idea, buy it and water it down. Everyone's gunna do that. Really.

        • +1

@Diji1: if you care about your health you would, I certainly don't want diabetes. It's not hard mate, get a glass, fill half with iced tea and top up with water. Flavour is still there and your not consuming so many useless calories.

Some woollies have these in the chilled section for same price. Grab those instead to save electricity or to-go

    Awesome with Chivas..

  • +1

I don't know why these are so expensive. They should be this price everyday. Even the unpopular soft drinks are cheaper than this.

Is the whole range on special? I really enjoy the lipton diet ice tea.

    • +1

      It was at Camberwell, VIC.

    • +2

Is the whole range on special?

Yes, even the diet ones are reduced…

  • There's a sparkling range of Lipton iced tea as well. Weird.

    • +3

      Weird.

      awful…

      • +1

That sparkling range is so bad…. :(

        • yup, tried it out when they where giving them out for free last year, it tastes awful

  • Thanks OP!

These are overpriced to begin with. Got some marked down at the reject shop for $1 each and they were okay, nothing great.
