When I first saw you I was so heavily invested in my current gaming relationship, I couldn't imagine making a change. But you kept showing me all these cool games that I loved so much, games that no one else was interested in, not even from my then digital distribution service of choice. But more than that, you understood it wasn't just about giving me the games I wanted but how I wanted to enjoy them. You seemed to understand me better than any other service did.
Eventually I just lept into your listings and clicked on all the carts at once. I grabbed the Witchers even though I had them on Steam already, and there were some Settlers from my old Amiga days! (Wow, I just dated myself!) Both Deus Ex games, and is that Evil Genius??? Oh the games! And you've never disappointed me. From System Shock 2 to the D&D Collection, Syndicate and the Fallouts. So much love, and so little time to enjoy it all. I can't wait for the Wild Hunt, so exciting.
You worried me there for a moment with regional pricing, because that matters to me here in Australia, but I understand the pressures you were under trying to satisfy everyone; I can't fault you for trying to please everyone. But you came through for me, as I knew you would.

I've never told you this before GOG, but I love you.
I know we aren't exclusive, that I have purchased games from other digital distribution services (those damned publishers don't let us be together always and for ever!), and you make lots of other customers happy as well, but my heart will always belong to you.
People keep going on about "Steam this" and "Steam that", but I have found them to be a shallow mess, and especially lately they've turned into a real full-on Monet. I still look (I can't resist at least browsing a Steam sale), but there's not much substance found among the garbage.
But you're beautiful on the inside as well. There are no strings attached to your affection, and I can take you with me everywhere. Do you remember when I took Deus Ex with me on that trip? Any time we want, we can just get away together without all the neediness of other distribution services.
This may seem a bit superficial, but I also like that you don't demand that I spend lots of money on you. I have a lot of other financial demands, and I don't always have the disposable income to splurge on you. But that's OK, because you find ways to have a lot of fun cheaply too!
I hope you don't find this too creepy, but really do think we were made for each other.
