Massive discounts with massive exclusions !

    • My thoughts exactly

    • +3

and Massive waste of our time!

    • +2

Would've been easier for them to list what is included!

  • These coupons only work online, but do you think I can go into a store and tell them to price match with the online price + coupon? lol

I want to buy a laptop from my local store (they don't have it in stock online).

    • Use Click & Collect

    • They usually do as long as you show them the coupon works online.

  • That's normal!

They should call these DDD (Daily Dick Deals)

    • +1

      or Daily Dose of Dick

Is that why I feel that I've been wronged everytime they show their exclusions list?

  • their codes never work for the hp stream 8

    • apparently it's already onsale for $169

but it's $144 here, which is $25 off DDDicks DDDeal

i tried it on an acer laptop which is also on sale and that worked
theres no stock at eyeo and not my local area

    • thanks for confirming, i tried a code earlier in the week for the hp stream 8 and no luck and same thing this morning. I was beginning to think I was doing it wrong.

    • I've had the same problem (of the code not working) three times (three different recent "$25 off" codes) with the HP Stream 8 (which is not in the listed exclusions). It's worth contacting their support using the support form (DSE phone support is not available at the times of these deals) if you want the $144 price.

These daily deals are really sick
Only found 2 things worth buying -Temporarily out of stock! Another way to exclude items already "on sale"
    I will ignore ddd further

  • Pebble for $101.65, get it or wait a bit longer?

    • Way I look at it, the exchange rate has screwed things up. The normal price jumped to take account, and to do noticeably better than this at the moment would take clearance pricing, and luck.

I get it now on the understanding you aren't likely to see much lower in the foreseeable. Or wait for the Time to drop in price (next Christmas?)

Logitech Remotes are also on sale at the moment, bringing the total price down to a reasonable level.

      • So you reckon jump on it now?
Also, anybody with a Pebble, is it bulky like it looks?

        • I've got one (in the 'before Christmas' sales)

Actually they don't feel too bulky on my wrist, and probably better than many of the other examples eg http://i.imgur.com/oq4SGJa.jpg (though I'd get the black). The big apple watch is larger on the wrist apparently.

I'd jump, see how the new OS eventuates, and then see how things have developed in a years time.

        • @sane: Awesome, thanks :)

        • Got a red one for $69 (after $20 discount) last December. It looks cool on my wrist, not too big nor too small. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B01t1Zd5bHvpYkxQTUEtaVMzOVE…

Mine is 6.5"/16.5 cm (er…I mean my wrist) so I use the 3rd and 4th hole on the band. It has 9 holes so you can choose which one fits you the best.

          Cheers!

        • @721411: Epic deal! I've decided to hold off on one for now and see how I like my FitBit when it comes (from the UTAS free deal). Thanks for the responses :)

  • What would be the best value laptop to get with this sale? I'd like something fairly powerful for Photoshop and web design work. Preferably under $1000. I haven't kept up to date with PC hardware since then Pentium 3 days :o

  • What. No Frenzy?

    • frenzied dick cant come back a 2nd time

I think the Galaxy S5 is the cheapest Australian stock at the moment at $574

Used the MASSIVE25 code (x2) to buy a tonne of Philips LED globes, which are at a decent price with 25% off. Could have been ever so slightly cheaper to get Masters to price match, then stack with the recent LED '3 for price of 2' but sometimes it's not worth the time & hassle of convincing the local Masters staff!

Wow, that is a face full of Dick Smith. A buk**ke of specials..

  • The Samsung Galaxy Gear FIt is only $101.65 after the MASSIVE25 code with Click & Collect.

  • I've almost got smithed by Dick a few days ago. I saw a decent Samsung monitor at a good price ($239 after $10 discount code) then bought it C&C using the discount voucher. The next day, I checked the price and it was down to $225.76 without the need of any discount code. So, I decided to order another monitor and return the first one when I went to the store. I prepared every reason possible in order to help me deal with the staff if the store refused to give me a refund. Luckily, when I went there, they only had one monitor left so I got it and my refund without being asked too much.

The whole thing is that DSE keep changing the prices and offering discount codes almost every single day really pisses me off. Who know what they're gonna do tomorrow?

    Price list:

    13/4 319 [old price]
    14/4 239 [249 - 10 (discount)] (my 1st order, returned)
15/4 225.76 [1 day only] (my 2nd order, got it)
    16/4 224.1 [249 - 24.9 (10% discount)] ($1.66 not worth the hassle)

    • I don't think dse does change of mind returns? The last few times I've been there, they have had signs to that effect

      • Thanks, I'm aware of that but the problem here is their weird pricing policy. It is OK if they change prices like once a week but once a day is unacceptable. Not to mention DSE jack the prices up while offer discount codes (e.g. eBay promotion) to make customers think that they have good deals.

Another thing that drives me crazy is that I bought some ENELOOP AAA batteries during eBay 20% promotion. A week later, I received an email from DSE said that my item wasn't delivered at my address but their nearest depot. The reason is that I wasn't home around that time. That is not true because I was home the whole day on that day. The driver didn't even call me or leave any notice so I totally had no idea about my item until I received their email. Thanks to Toll Priority for their **** service! I paid $5 for delivery cost and then had to go to their depot to collect the item myself.

I have purchased many stuff from DSE before and was very happy with them until these incidents happened. Anyway, I'm lucky enough to get my money back but should be more careful next time I purchase stuff from them.

  • MASSIVE25 not valid, lol. Tried with Kindle Paperwhite.

Kindle is excluded this time around (often excluded).
