  • Does any one know if the size is related to the screen or the length of the band? Not sure if I need small or large

    • +1

It's your wrist size. Specs on the Fitbit page. If you are right on the edge, go large. You can always go into store and swap over

      • thanks

        • +2

I have the large and am about mid range on the band. A small would be for a really small wrist from what I can see….

        • @thecraw: Always get the large unless you have very very small wrists. This allows you to also shift it higher up your arm for a much more accurate reading when training.

    • <6.2" wrist suits small size according to FitBit

  • I had a small flex but a large charge hr

  • Cam someone tell me the point of these?

    • +3

To alleviate you of your hard earned.

No idea. They're horribly inaccurate so really of little use to anyone who wants to measure their fitness. In spite of knowing this many people say it doesn't matter which basically makes me me think they're in computer network fairyland still (this is my pet name for the current hype cycle that involves IT … essentially people give products a halo and forgive things like wild inaccuracy and a lack of any supporting evidence for claims simply because it's a computer that connects to a network. Basically it doesn't work but people imbue it with magical properties due to it being connected to a network.)

      • +1

What do you mean by inaccurate? I have the Surge and have compared the results of that device against other health and fitness devices and it seems to be quite spot on +/- 1-2%. The distance tracker also seems to be spot on when compared to other devices, so overall I have been quite happy with it.

      • +1

They're dumb in my opinion and make you look like a tool (an expensive bracelet that looks dumb), but according to my friend it motivated him to exercise.

So yeah, if you want motivation, get this..
        ?

Though honestly, I think you should look for some other sources for exercise if you need motivation. Exercising should be fun, not a chore.

Its a commitment device. Its accurate enough to measure your daily activity which is a step in the right direction if you want to be more active. The ability to sync with your friends (both in android and IOS) is also great motivation.

I don't think this is for fitness junkies - this for more casual folks looking for an extra push.

  • Damn, just bought the Charge HR from Harvey Norman on Friday, got it for $175 thinking that was the best price I'd seen!

    • +2

$128 3 weeks ago @ DSE, But was only Plum colour :)

      • +1

And a pre-order, and not a word from DS re the status since then, either.

        • HN website is indicating stock is due in July. Dick is making good interest on our purchases.

        • I called them up re the plum pre-order status…they indicated a may 15th due date, so hopefully will be delivered soon after then.

        • +1

          @waderr:
I contacted them and asked and they were not sure when plum were due, but thru were happy to send me 2 black instead for no extra fee. Really happy as I wanted the black anyway

        • @pranksta: You ordered two plum and now they're sending you two black? Or you ordered one plum and they're sending you two as compensation??

  • the coupon code is not valid :(

    • Yes, it is, did you type it in CAPITALS, because you have to.

oh crap crap crap , I didn't realise there were sizes and ordered large. I have tiny wrists.
oh- anything over 6.2" is large apparently (my wife would probably agree) - my wrist is 7" so large is probably fine.

    • same here the coupon code is not valid

  • Charge has gone back up in price

  • +1

The Fitbit charge Balck Small shows up as $119 when you search for it then after clicking it changes to $143 that's odd

    • Someone just edited the title and upped the price lol

      • Yeah I did, the special was SAT Only and has now ended :)

  • thanks OP been waiting for a charge HR sale!

  • Thank you! Been eyeing the HR off for a couple of weeks and hopefully can collect it instore today :)

  • Stock issues, HR large. Got a call from DS Bourke Street and even though it shows stock online the guy said they have none and is now trying to source from another store for me, or it will end up refunded…

Good price for the charge Hr. Unfortunately it's rubbish, would not recommend.

    • +1

"It's rubbish" doesn't help anyone. Care to elaborate?

What didn't it do that you wanted?

I don't agree with your statement, how can $144 be a good price for rubbish?

      • +1

It's a good price relative to the market for this product…

It's rubbish because the heart rate monitoring function is woefully inaccurate on the rare occasion it even detects a heart rate.

        • +1

I don't know why they are allowed to market it as a heart rate monitor because it only measures your pulse. I also had to restrain myself from making a joke about you not having a heart.

  • Thanks, wanted it for the last 2 months. Missed the previous deal. Got Hr which my wife uses and now going to compete with her. Yes great motivation tool as I have seen her how active she got since I got her this for valentines since she competes with her friends.

  • Put my order in at around 9am and order still not ready. Slack IMO.

    • Did you choose click and collect? I did and they didn't send out another email apart from the initial one (and paypal), check the website out if it is ready for pickup

      • Yes click & collect. We rang up and they were quite rude saying they will email when it's ready. I ordered headphones from another dick smith yesterday and that was ready in about 1 hour

  • sigh bought one of these yesterday, couldn't sync the bluetooth to my iphone :(

  • Got my confirmation email first thing this morning at 8.30am for 'click and collect' . Ordered yesterday around lunch.

  • ordered last night around 10pm, waiting the confirmation email
    good price , thanks op

  • Ordered on Sunday 10pm , now is 9:52am tue morning , still waiting confirmation email ……. Why take so long >.<
