  • So basically you're buying 10 coffee boxes (slightly cheaper than rrp) and getting a free coffee machine.

    • +1

But thats still only about 1kg of coffee for $99.
Good for non-drinkers who don't with to serve their guests instant.

  • +1

I've been keeping tabs on this machine + capsule, pretty sure it's been this price for a while now.

BTW saw a standalone machine in coles for $59.

    • +1

Posted this deal back in Feb, then the price went up to $129 in March. Now it's dropped down again, but not sure how long it'll stay at this price.

      • Every time I've walked into my local OW it's still been advertised as $99, this'll probably be the lowest it'll go you reckon?

  • +1

This deal has been running for a while now. I bought one for home, liked the coffee alot so bought one for work too :-)

  • Anyone knows the best before date for the capsules?

    • +2

12/15 and 2/16 are the ones I got.

  • "There was an error processing your order. Please try again or contact customer service centre on 1300 OFFICE (633 423)." anyone getting any luck?

  • +1

    What is the coffee like?

    • -8

knowing pod machines, probably like rotten dirt

    • +6

We have the Lavazza Mio at work and I would say 100% better than instant and slightly better than Nespresso. It is no where near as good as espresso with freshly roasted and grounded beans.

      • +3

        Agree with all of this.

      • I read this and it got me thinking a bit. Freshly roasted? Does anyone actually serve freshly roasted coffee beans? AFAIK theyre just freshly ground.

        • +3

Really depends on your definition of freshly roasted, doesn't it? To me, beans roasted within a week of drinking are 'freshly roasted', since you need to give beans about 3-4 days to de-gas after roasting before beginning to consume them (that's why coffee bags of beans/ground have one-way valves built in).

  • are these capsules compatible with Lattissima?

    • Latissima is a Nespresso machine

      • +1

        That's why I ask.

        • exactly. From what I understand there's about 3 different standards for pods. Nespresso, the k-fee that aldi uses, and another one (map? or something). Would be handy to know which standard this machine and pods are.

        • +2

          @salem: See here;

          Looks like they're their own… :(

    • +1

Nope, not compatible with anything else

  • +3

when you register the machine, you get another 32 capsules sent to you within 14 days

    • Does it apply to Lavazza Simpla? It seems like it is only for Lavazza Amodo Mio Minu.

    • +1

Nice find cheapo, but the T&Cs state it's for the Minu only.

      • After registering by entering the serial number, the website said the capsules will be sent out. Finger-crossed!

        • got mine

    • I used this offer with my minu machine, it took a couple of months to come through, over Xmas mind you. It was two different boxes that are sold in Coles, not a few from each type, which is what I was expecting.

    • After registration, I ordered a special promotion $30 (from $129) milk frother with free delivery and 1 box (16) bonus capsules. Arrived today, good quality, way better than Aldi's one.

  • I've got one of these machines and use it almost everyday; any deals on the pods themselves?

    • +1

Better off buying this bundle and sell the machine for $20-30 on Gumtree?

      • Thought of this, but the pods are all different, so you'll only get a few boxes that you like, lots of useless boxes.

If you see a rep in a TGG store or Coles, around mothers day, fathers day, Xmas, other promo, ask for a few samples, I ended up with one or two from each blend! If I stuck to the deciso blend that I first bought, I'd not be using the machine anymore.

Also the machines don't last for ever, 1.5 years if you're lucky, so good to have a backup. Hmm, maybe I should get it…

  • It's been OzBargained! Out of stock online :-(

    • +1

I bought at OW Glen Waverley this afternoon just before closing, there are still plenty stocks there, at least 9 on the shelves.

  • Are there any deals on the capsules out there without the machine ? i remember myer selling them for 50-60% off about a year ago.

Myer do seem to be selling them around 15% off.

  • An Officeworks rep just told me this is now out of stock across all stores in Victoria…

    • There are at least 3 in stock in Werribee. I just popped in then.

Quick search on the office works site shows them as in stock in Caroline Springs too.

      • +1

hmm… well then that staff member I spoke to at Carnegie lied! lol

        • Name it and shame it. I know a lot of them just say out of stock too lazy to check stocks for customers.

  • A lot of stocks in Melbourne City

  • Are these pods considered a single shot? How many shots in a large flat white at a cafe?

    • 2 shots in a large flat white at a decent cafe. These I expect would be a shot each, but if other pod systems are anything to go by, they'll be a slightly weak shot compared to good cafes. Probably on par with an average cafe.

    • The local cafes would use 18-20g of freshly ground coffee for a large (two shot coffee), in Italy they would use 7g per espresso, these pods have 7.5g per capsule. I prefer the red packs, stronger tasting, to my taste. You could always put a triple capsule coffee through, still saving a few bucks per coffee from the local cafe! I think two capsules would be plenty strong though.

I've saved over a hundred bucks from my local café spend in only a few months. Would recommend trying this machine.

  • Not a great bargain, just looked on gumtree and the machines dont seem to sell.
So 188 caps divided into $99 is 52.6cents a coffee.

    • +1

That many espressos would cost $658 at most cafés, a saving of $559. I'll give it an upvote just for that.

      • Sounds fair but the way you define a bargain is unusual. If i cook at home all delivery hero codes are not bargains?

        • +1

DeliveryHero codes are a bargain no matter what, because of the money saved.. Same concept here, you're just trying to muddy the waters!

        • +1

@ryang: he is trying to compare cafe coffee with homemade coffee so if i compare delivered food with home cooked food i will save more money. I dont see a problem with my comparison if his makes sense. You dont see the sacarsm in my comment do you?

  • OK hows this, its a bargain if you happen to be a coffee lover and dont have a machine. :p

  • Just picked one of these up at the Virginia (Qld) store. At first they said there was no stock but they found the 144 capsule pack and gave me the machine as well. If you go there, just grab a machine and get them to grab the extra capsule pack from the box on the top shelves about the machines.
