A small discount is not the same as a bargain.

Thanks for the comment. For an expensive spice like Saffron, even "a little" saving is heaps. Also, our prices are already very low. If you want to buy saffron in major supermarkets, you must pay $14 for 0.1 gram! $14 for 1/10th of a gram!!

      • Ok, and how much is yours in comparison?

        • +3

          Woolworths: $1,399.00 / 10g
          Saffronstore: $49 / 10g

You'd have to be an 'idiot' to buy saffron from ColesWorth.

        Your prices are quite good.

    What is saffron used for?

    • +9

When added to your food, it increases your ability to use Google.

      • Ah… Thank god, I don't eat it.

Classic. I don't normally upvote for funny comments. But you deserve it. I'm still laughing.

Saffron is used for it's colour, texture and aroma. It's rich colour and taste makes dishes so much tastier! It also has a lot of health benefits. I suggest you have a look at our blog at:
      http://saffronstore.com.au/category/the-blog/
      AND
      http://saffronstore.com.au/health/

      • I would have to question texture

        • I'd have to question taste. And also health benefits of something that weighs milligrams.

The only thing there I'd agree on is colour. Perhaps aroma.

But then again, how would I know? My mrs does the cooking. She told me it's colour only. But we've never bought fancy saffron.

What is difference between Khatam Premium and normal one.

    • Khatam is the type of the packaging. We have plastic and khatam packaging. Premium saffron is a "Super Sargol" saffron which is higher than "Grade 1" saffron.

If packaging is not important to you or you have your own saffron container to store it, then plastic is fine.

    Doing my maths:
    5g pack is = $22 ($4.4 per gram)
    10g pack is = $49 ($4.9 per gram)

I am looking to buy the bigger pack, but it looks like its cheaper to buy 2 small packs. OR Am I missing something here?

    • Same goes with 2 * 1gm vs 2gm pack.

    • +2

it is part of our sale. We realised that more customers tend to buy our 2,4 and 5 gram packs. Therefore we have made them a bit cheaper than the rest.

      • You got it wrong. 2gm is costlier than 1g *2 pack.

        • I'd rather invest in the stock market

        • That's all good. We are happy if you could save even more in that way :)

@CandyMan: Sure. I hear Medibank shares is a strong buy

          @Saffron-Store:
It's intended robe a joke only on how expensive it is ( seems like it's worth it's weight gold). I do buy safron when my wife orders me too, and I think this is a good deal deal if the quality is good :)
Edit: I'd probably need to work overtime to afford the $200+ deals

@CandyMan: No worries mate. Well you know where to find us when you get the orders from the chief.
Contact Faz when you're ready to buy and he can fix you up with a discount I'm sure. His details are in the "contact us" section. Cheers

Ordered 1g pack to try. I used to buy from Vic market. Let's see how's this saffron.

  • Hey Rep.
Is this Kashmere Saffron or the Iranian one?

    • Hey mate, it is Iranian Saffron. All red, Grade 1, Sargol Saffron

  • +1

Iranian saffron is the best in the world unlike the junk you usually buy from woolies. Try this for a recipe:

    • +1

Iranian saffron has a better smell(floral).
      Kashmir saffron is more woody(earthy)

I think its just personal preference.

  • This promotion is valid until Tuesday guys. Have a great weekend!

  • Last day! Happy shopping
