  • Very good price,
Using one on my Samsung TV, another on my media PC and raspberry pi

    • I can't for the life of me get it working on my pi

      • Works on MK808B Plus :)

      • I had more luck with these keyboards on the pi over the IR remotes

I have this keyboard and hate it, the trackpad isn't very accurate and the trackpad buttons quickly stopped clicking properly

Very unlucky. Ive had one in a VERY harsh environment (workshop).

Sawdust, grease covered hands, multiple drops, high humidity, changing temperatures (non insulated area), and mine is going strong! will be buying another 2.

I've found these to be more durable http://www.msy.com.au/qld/varsitylakes/keyboard/13977-micros…

Cheaper as well and less hassles getting them to work with various devices.

      • Will it work with a Samsung smart tv?

        • oops

      • I have one of these. I can't compare to the logitech because I haven't used that, but in general I'm quite happy with the MS Keyboard. Currently using it on a HTPC across the living room - works well enough. Touchpad isn't the best, but it's not bad either.

        • Only problem is integrated buttons.

If you're trying to do actual work with it, as opposed to using media functions integrated buttons becomes a pain.

@MasterScythe: to be fair, it is a media keyboard. It's probably gonna be crappy at real work.

        • @yaziyo:

          But it's not!

Dyno tuning a car its perfect, setting up CNC machines its flawless, programming arcade machines, its amazing (range alone!)

all uses I've used it for.

      • pricematch it @ OW for $31.35 ?

      • I have one in lounge room that gets dropped on tiles and still functions like new, and still looks newish.

Only issue I have is more with the touch click I hate that on laptops, and there isnt a way to turn it off that i have seen with the logitech software

    • How much force are you applying to the buttons? seems like far too much, maybe you should claim it under warranty

  • I bought one two months ago from HN for almost twice the price. Wish this deal had come then. Good find OP.

I get delivery at $2 too - that's very reasonable!

  • Bought one recently, and it's quite a terrible keyboard. As mentioned, trackpad isn't exactly smooth and worst of all suffers from input lag from 1m away. So no good if you're using it for a HTPC.

    • Install the software so you can control the pointer speed. If you have any other lag after that you might be too far away from the receiver or your processor isnt up to run windows

      • I've already installed logitech setpoint, im literally 1.5m away to the PC from my couch. And I definitely don't think it's to do with my processor, I've got a pretty beast PC.

        • I'm running it on a i3 gen 3 and 1tb green drive and windows 7 and about 2m away and not seen any lag.

Maybe try reinstalling your windows again.

        • Changing Battery might help? Or try moving to another computer to compare result?

    • I have similar issues, I can't really work out what it is because sometimes it works perfect and sometimes it doesn't want to, massive input lag.

I've bought these for school and have them installed in about 30 classrooms. So far about 90% success rate, sometimes the trackpad can be a bit tricky but in general I have no problem using them from about 10-15m away. Also have two at home for htpc use, one works perfectly the other can get sluggish further than 2m usage. I'd still buy it again though the MS one linked to above looks similar and may be worth having a shot.

  • It's been this price at OW QV for a few days now

    • I just got one a OW QV.
Scanned at $39 and had to show the guy, on the shelf it was marked as $35

Price matched at JB HiFi for $35.00 - can upload receipt if anyone needs it?

Bought for $35 and $2 shipping for my Samsung TV
    Thanks!

Just picked up mine from Office Works CBD for $35 plus a whopping $1.75 5% discount, I would love to spray champagne over all your faces in celebration.

  • Mine works great with my LG TV. Was super surprised when I plugged it in and it worked immediately!

  • +1

I've had this for a few years now, picked up for a similar price. I'm not sure if I've ever replaced the batteries and still runs like new connected to the htpc.

  • Purchased K400R a couple of years ago. Entry level keyboard and track pad quality. I could not recommend it for HTPC. Suggest you at least find one in a store to see if it is worth the money or it will live in the bottom of a drawer like mine.
I replaced it with Logi K830. It costs more but it feels better to type with and the trackpad is far better. It's also back lit - a real life saver for HTPC. BTW rechargeable battery lasts a long time too.

use this with my Samsung BD-H6500.. works fine about 3m away.. trackpad isn't smooth to touch but i don't have an issue controlling the cursor on the tv

this price is pretty "standard" though.. it's been like this (and even cheaper) for a couple of years now

  • I bought one online from JBHiFi almost 2 years ago. It stopped working recently. Paperwork that came with it suggested it only had a ONE year warranty. I emailed JB HiFi and told them that it stopped working, but that I expected a keyboard to last longer than that within my Consumer Rights (without being an a-hole about it).

They told me to come in to a store near me and they exchanged it on the spot. Me = very happy.

  • I cant say how good this keyboard is for this price. Obviously it's not going to be the most amazing keyboard but it does its pretty well for under $40.

If you want a keyboard around this size with a mouse instead of the trackpad then the MK220 is a good alternative for $19.00 -

Interesting enough I started looking for this keyboard today and the only place I haven't check was The Good Guys. the lowest was Officeworks. Thanks a a lot. Picked one up on the way home and it works like a charm with MK808B Plus.

Also, just while writing this comment I have tested it with Curved Samsung TV and it works perfectly fine. I can type into search dialogue, move the cursor with the pad and bring up the menu. Volume key doesn't do anything though.

  • have one of these for the TV connected house server.
    it's not that good

the F1-F12 keys are annoying to use.
the mouse pad is very average.

    just my 5 cents

  • Bought another one for the bedroom HTPC, use one in Lounge and works great when not using remote

  • Scored one. $2 postage to north tassie ! ( only one is in south) was expecting to pay a LOT more
