AUD$20.42, you can changed the currency top left.

  • But what model are these earphones?

    • +1

Theyre the new xiaomi piston 3.0's. Quite a bit different to the 2.0's. No idea whether this seller has a reputation for genuine xiaomi products though.

      • The rep has posted 2 xiaomi products before and no one has said anything about not being genuine.

      • +1

says version 2 on link provided

        • They are the 3.0's.

Tickle me suspicious, but Xiaomi sells these earphones for RMB99 ≈ US$15.91 (plus shipping). With free shipping, you're even undercutting Xiaomi on their own product.
Similarly, Xiaomi sells the USB LED light for RMB19.90 ≈ US$3.20. But you have it for $2.06 and free shipping?
      https://www.allbuy.com/detail/30A1014C-7EC7-035B-CDE5-8BA0B8…

Assuming AllBuy isn't an official Xiaomi retailer and must pay retail price before middlemanning them on for a profit, aren't you selling these at a loss?
Not that I don't love a good bargain, but what's the deal?

      • +1

A lot of stores sell for less than the producer. Just look at any electronic product. At some point in time, a retailer was cheaper.

        • Yes, but that's typically from retailers who purchase the products wholesale, so they're still able to sell at a profit.
Except for a few select official partnerships, Xiaomi sells its products directly to consumers and there are no other retailers. The usual online stores that sell Xiaomi products (the tinydeals and ibuygous and whatnot) are grey market resellers, tacking on a few cents or dollars to make a profit. I assume (but someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that AllBuy operates in a similar manner.

If that's the case, then how is AllBuy making any money on this? In any other scenario (or perhaps any other brand), there'd be red flags going up around this one.

          @monkeymuffins:
They commented below that they're willingly losing money on this deal in order to build reputation with customers, and I doubt the loss is much anyway

        • @snynx: But we are still worthy to earn more trust from you guys ~

      • +1

Hello @monkeymuffins,Thanks for your notice about the price for xiaomi. Just what i mentioned before, we are a newbie on OZ, we prefer to share the profit with our real customers than paying into the google ads/ facebook ads. we still believe that first order is not our final goal. that is why we can sacrifice our profit or even lost money to proceed that. We just want to earn more reputation for our brand, more trust from royal customers. :)

Still that word, if any one still have any question about our product or service, pls Po here or PM me , we do welcome.:)

Thanks again for all support from you guys~

    • Hi there,

On 30/04 I ordered a Xiaomi Piston III In-ear Earphone w/ Mic. from Allbuy, and according to Allbuy website, my order has been shipped. However I haven't received my item. Can you double check? I'm afraid the order might have been lost during transit. FYI my order number is 20150427200058627.

I have already sent an email to Allbuy support service. Hope you can help me with this since I'm planning to go on a holiday soon and would love to get the earbud before I leave :)

  • +2

Are Xiaomi earphones actually any good for the price?

    • +3

Yes, they are one of if not the best for the price

      See review:

      http://www.neowin.net/news/review-of-the-xiaomi-piston-30-he…

    • +1

I frankly found Piston 3.0 to be very V shaped compared to what I listen to.
Doesn't mean that the earphone's bad, it's just that it's not flat; it's a "fun" earphone.
The bass is slightly overwhelming for me, I had to adjust bass when I listen to rock.
Of course, this is just my opinion on it.

Not a bad earphone, I'd probably be hesistant on recommending this to everyone, because V shaped sound is only good, imo, with certain genre like pop and hip-hop.

      • Ah yeah the Xiaomi do look pretty good. I shall purchase them when my Sol Republic dies. Why did I spend $70 on Sol Republics T_T

        • +2

V shaped earphones are not my cup of tea or forte in terms of my knowledge goes.
My preferences lie more to open headphones that are flat in terms of its sound because I tend to listen to many many different types of music going from classic, pop, hip-hop, EDM to metal, in other words, random. So it's up to you to take my words as a rant from someone who's biased because it's not his preferred sound.

My advise is, just like what you have and get Xiaomi out of your mind until it breaks or get it now.
If you start regretting getting the earphone you own, you usually end up hating it or treating it badly (from my personal experience).
Also, you usually end up hyping the earphone that you didn't get, thinking that everything that your earphone cannot do can be done with the other earphone without valid reasoning or with other people's hype.

It's better to get the headphone/earphone out of your mind if you have a decent pair that functions properly.
Or be like some people, like me, who ends up getting multiple earphones/headphones and swap them around as you feel like.

Personal opinion, though frankly speaking, as far as I've seen, this earphone is hyped right now.
It's just released, it's a model that's after one of the earphones that people consider as decent, there are reviews that I've seen that seem to be biased and those seem to be circulating around. In short, how many people do you actually think have gave it a fair go?

Not saying that it's a bad earphone, I own it. I think it's a decent earphone, the sound signature is not my cup of tea, but the earphone itself performs very well. I'd probably have to say that it's one of the best earphones I've ever owned so far as far as my memory goes.

        • +1

          @AznMitch:

I think all the hype is about one thing

These are the best bang for buck headphones you can buy!

        • +1

          @AznMitch:

Thanks Mitch. Very detailed explanation of your experience with the Xiaomi and other earphones. I ended up purchasing the Xiaomi earphones because i wanted to compare the quality of a pair of value earphones with more popular brands.

        • @SevenSmurfs: Defining best in a hobby where everything boils down to personal preference is very hard. I frankly would not be able to stand listening to a metal song or a classic with these without touching the equalisers around. I guess an earphone performs like this at this price is definitely bang for the buck, but is it the "best thing ever since blah"? No, there is a hype on these cans. I think they are very decent for their price, but that's it.

        • @AznMitch:

That's basically what I was trying to say. Wasn't saying they were the 'best' headphones however for the money, definitely best bang for buck spent in comparison to other headphones at that price range.

        • @SevenSmurfs: Best bang for the buck on earphone often implies that it sounds amazing. The sound signature, imo, is V shaped which does imply limits on what it can play well. I've ranted enough on another post about pistons, but the problem I have with this "hype" is that everyone is assuming that it sounds amazing based on:

          1. Piston 2.1 which doesn't necessarily make 3.0 amazing (For example, HD700 from Sennheiser vs HD600, in terms of popularity)
          2. Reviews that I think are biased.
          3. This thing is released like a month ago, how many people do you think gave it a fair go? Especially at the time when I wrote that, when it was around the time of the release.

If you want to say this is the best bang for the buck headphone, I think something like KOSS KSC-75 is there at the price range, which in my opinion sounds "better". So yes, best bang for the buck is questionable as far as I see as the performance of this was not clearly verified nor you can put "this sounds better than this" without bringing in your preferences.

  • Good price if genuine.. Paid $32~ in early April and still hasn't arrived from ibuygou

    • Coincidentally, the set I ordered from iBuyGou (shipped 10th April) arrived today.

      • Dang…are they any good?

        • +2

Eh… decent. I haven't got any time to give them a proper test this week, and I'm not much of an audio reviewer anyway, but I'd say they're good for the price and on par with the V2.1 in general quality. Need to find some time to properly compare them. I had them shipped by Paypal Parcel, which might be faster than the free airmail if you chose that.

I'm still concerned that the Allbuy ones might not be genuine. For all they claim, the last time I checked DX (which these guys are part of) is basically like Amazon/eBay, and it looks like they're just a marketplace other people can add products to - which makes it hard to say whether it's really genuine. They do tend to honour refunds, but that's more hassle :\

  • Is this deal is for piston 2 or piston 3? The description and tittle are confusing
    Ok- got it.
@this price should i buy v2 or v3? Anyone here compare their quality?

  • Buy first, think later.

    AUD22, not complaining at all!

    • Thanks for your support, but if any issue for this product once you have, especially for the quality feedback, pls let me know~ we will solve that with xiaomi brand owner asap.

Meanwhile, as what i promised before, we will full refund if anyone receive a not genuine xiaomi earphone from Allbuy and pay for compensation~

Allbuy team needs your support anyway.~

  • I use these are work so i don't have to hear the boss.

  • +1

How can you sell the Piston 3 cheaper than Xiaomi? + plus shipping+handling

    • +11

To be honest, we allbuy are newbie on OZ, we only offer the best deals to OZ-er to build our reputation here first.

We believe that making money from the first order is not our goal~ we are building the trust - bridge between customers and Allbuy.

That is why we can even sacrifice the profit to build our Rep here.:)

  • Ordered one for myself, sis seemed really happy with her Piston V2s' so ill take a crack at the new version, hope this pays off :).

  • Will this good - priced deal last for 3 more days OP?

  • Thanks got 3's good deal rep

  • Thanks OP and Rep, ordered a pair. Any idea what's the ideal delivery timeframe to Melbourne, closer to 12 days or 25 days?

    • +2

          Still waiting for a response….

Interesting how selective the rep is, regarding answering questions.

        • @harsain:

          Hello here,

So sorry for the late response here :(

I am here, and honestly, we choosed s stupid carrier who promised us all packages will be deliveried in 7-15 working days. But actually it will cost almost one month or more. Now we replaced a new carrier, Only cost 15 working days between shipped day and delivery except very desolate areas.

So @harsain, can you give us one more chance? let us send you a new replacement? We donot want to loss any royal customer here.

          Regards,

          Win

  • Bought 2, I hope they will be as good as everyone claims them to be.

  • +3

Do all buttons / functions work with Android phones (Nexus 5) or are these fully compatible only with Apple products ?

    • Maybe, xiaomi want to be the king of the android market like APPLE for IOS~ :)

Lei Jun is fulfilled with huge ambition, Keep eyes on that.

      • I dont think there are other competitor in IOS , :-\

        • Till now, they are not the real competitors with each other, but who knows what will happen in next sec~:)

      • Why does the piston 3 product description say "for Xiaomi / IPHONE / IPAD". Whey does it say iPhone / iPad if it has limited functionality with those - and why doesn't it say "Android" and confirm all buttons/ functions work with Android ?

        • Hi rep. Any chance of getting an answer to this question please ? Thanks.

  • I'll give these a shot, see if they're any good.

  • Hi REP, you need to have an "Express Paypal checkout",
as do not want to sign up another account/password just to pay this
(Tried the facebook login, nothing happened?)

    • Thanks for your advice, we will consider this.

But to be honest, we have recommended customized items based on your order history and viewing history on Allbuy.

Especially recommendation is great user experience on our mobile and APP

But donot worry. we are improving our user experience with customers' advice.

  • Why its not showing in usd? I have some usd sitting in my paypal account and want to use it

    • Hola, we have multi currency function that match your local IP automatically, if you want to see that USD currency, pls change that on each page left-top corner~:)

  • Dammit, gave in and got some. Thanx OP.

  • Perfect time for this. My sennheiser cx300's just broke after a year and I've always wanted to get the 3's after high appraisal of the 2's. Hope they're genuine.

  • Rep, any possible deals for Xiaomi 16000mAh battery bank?

  • Do the function buttons work with Android or are they ios only?

  • How would these compare to a set of skullcandy headphones that are $35?

    • Significantly better. The xiaomi pistons are very highly regarded on sites like headfi. Doubt you could find better pairs of IEM's for this price or even double. The only problem is that the version 2.0's had a bit of a counterfeit problem, so i'm iffy about the reputation of this buyer.

  • Bought v2 and v3 plus xiaomi band, me like xiaomei..

    • +2

Dong Guan / Shen Zhen xiaomei? Wink Wink
or perhaps you like laomei? *ILF

  • Ha! excelent :D Just gotten me a set of these

  • Might wait for head fi\joker definitive review to learn what improved. meantime good luck, will hold on to the 2s.
Freq response graph would have interest too.

  • +1

I'm currently using a v2.1, and I have another one as a spare. Tells you how much I like them. When the v3 was released, told myself to wait for the price to go down before buying as I really don't need another one. But I bought one anyway since I am pretty sure it will not be as low as this ever again (at least not until V3.1 or V4 is out). Hope they are really genuine!

  • Got it!

  • +1

Already using v2.1 but buying these as spare!

  • Bought them cos my Pistons V2 fell from my bag and got rained on recently haha

  • +2

If you try a place an order but forget to add a shipping address, you get a message "Hey dear, please select your shipping address".

LOL. Is this website fair dinkum?!

    • +1

Hmmmmm, thanks for your advice for our still-not-enough-official notice words, we are not native english speaker with toooo much chinese mind for that. Already passes on this advice to my copywritting partner~ we will update our slogan to make more official~:)

      • Haha, no problem. You are my favourite rep on Ozbargain already.

        • Thanks~:)

  • +2

Bought one! Even though I already have V2.1 but why not. It is cheap and heck i loved the v2 so why not support Xiaomi so it can produce more quality and cheap items :)
