Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) Return ex PER $407, MEL $468, OOL $488, SYD $498 @ AirAsia

650

Good evening everyone. Stumbled across these fares while searching for a friend's trip to Vietnam. No idea when they end, so I'd grab them quick. Seats only seem to be available for May & early June but you may also have some luck for later on in the year. Happy travels :)

As always with my deals, here's the proof:

Fares are quoted per passenger in AUD and include taxes. A separate processing fee of up to AUD 10.00 will be charged per flight per person for payments made with credit and debit cards. This fee does not apply to one way or return bookings departing from Australia where payment is made using PayPal.

        *Ho

  • Surely it is time for a BIG sale from airasia?

  • Via KL :(

    • What's wrong with flying via KL?

        Takes longer…

From my experience, the general level of customer service in KL is autoicous, as if they don't care about their jobs, and want to lose customers.

Enough for me to want to avoid Malaysia.

        • Wait till you get to Ho Chi Minh airport then. Last time i flew in, all the immigration workers were asleep at their desks.

        • Have you been to the new airport? I found it a big improvement over the old one.

        • @Snoopy113: at least they were not awake enough to ask for your pocket money

        • @Snoopy113:

Thats normal, last time I was there the x-ray scanning area was optional. The staff would like look at you as you walk by, tip of the day is to not give them eye contact.

        • @Gaz1:

Yes just last month. It is… Beautiful? I think that's the word. The airport is amazing (architecture wise).

Service wise… It was actually a stop over, and I was reminded why I don't like that country.

Air Asia service at Sydney airport is what you'd expect from a budget airline (not amazing, but they get it done). Air Asia in KL, they don't seem to give Adam. Two people in front of the queue? Wait for 15 mins while the workers finish… hanging out? And when you finally get service, they look like teenagers who don't want to work (seriously). They look miserable, and their service reflects this. Rant over.

Not quite as good as the $106 return from last month to SGN.

Airline Ratings are notoriously bias, they were even on today tonight not long ago!
Note that flights outbound from Australia are through Airasia X, rating '6 stars'
and Malaysian Airasia is actually rated '4 stars' (same as scoot, cebu, and tiger)

    • Interesting 'food for thought' re daily mail/airlineratings.com. It is good that AirAsia X is rated 6/7, and I will just have to stick my neck out with my connecting flights from Kul onwards on a 4/7 rated airline.

  • After my Bali-Melbourne flight was cancelled at last minute by AirAsia I needed to rush to book an alternative flight. That was bad enough, but then the refund process was a nightmare. I have only just received a refund after over 3 months worth of contacting to demand a refund. Getting emails saying the refunded had been processed, ones saying payment has been sent. All not true. In the end, lodging complaints through consumer affairs ended up getting the refund processed.

What did I get for AirAsia holding onto my money for 6 months? Nothing but headaches and time wasted
