  • where are they made?

They are made in China along with 99% of the worlds leading footwear brands.

Thanks, I go out of my way to buy from the other 1%…

We used to make great quality shoes in Australian, now we get imported ones that are mostly crap…

You should put in your product page the country of manufacture, so customers can make informed choices…

        • +4

This is a non-exclusive retailer, not a manufacturer. Get off your high horse. This is a cheap price for these shoes.

        • Maybe you should ask the mods to make it compulsory for every deal to show country of manufacture. Although gosh that will be hard work for the grocery lists each week, but oh well fairs fair, whats expected of one should be expected from all.

        • -2

          @macrocephalic:

I usually buy from retailers, not manufacturers, and I'd like to know where the products are made before I make a purchase… If you don't care, good for you…

          @chloden:

that will be hard work for the grocery lists each week

Country of Origin is listed on the supermarket websites, so you can make informed choices.

Also, your normal selling price for these shoes is $49.95 and NOT $99.95

    http://web.archive.org/web/20150403110254/http://www.brandho…

Claiming you normally sell them for $99.95 is deceptive and misleading and against the law.

    • +1

The price of $99.95 is the suggested RRP price provided to us by the suppliers. This is the price you would expect to pay at retail stores. We had some of these shoes on sale at $49.95 and now we are offering them to you at $29 + $9.95 Postage with Coupon which is an absolutely great deal.

We posted a similar deal recently and had a fantastic response, please see: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191535

      • +2

The price of $99.95 is the suggested RRP price

But it's not your normal selling price, so it's a deceptive and misleading price comparison…

        Read the link…

It doesn't even mention it's a RRP, not that it makes a difference.

The only reason it's there is to fool customers into thinking they are getting a bigger saving than they really are…

We have no intention to mislead customers. At the end of the day, you are getting quality mens shoes and boots at $29 + $9.95 Postage with Coupon which is an undeniably great deal.

We have no intention to mislead customers.

Then why are you posting misleading price comparisons that are against the law…

"Misleading prices may include a ‘before’, ‘was’ or ‘strike through’ price that is not the price those items were sold for in a reasonable period immediately before the sale period started"

    Disappointed…..

  • Hows the quality

  • How long is the order fulfilment cycle? I'm still waiting the order that I placed on Sunday..

    • Please contact us via: [email protected] and we will give you an exact update on your shipping status.

      • So what is the frequency of you checking unfulfilled orders and updating customer on the status? Once a week? Or just wait for customer to email you?

    • +1

Metro Melbourne here, I put in an order on Friday, got it on Monday.

      • Are you happy with the shoes you received ?

  • Great stuff, waiting for a different line of stock to be on sale though, bought a pair of the Pistons last week already.

    • Are you happy with the shoes you received ?

      • +1

Bought the Piston boots, happy with what I got, beats paying $80 bucks for Julius Marlows on sale.

And @jv, it's true, if you wanted quality, you would buy no made in China. But looking at nearly all the clothes that you buy, 99% of it is made in China. If you want to buy stuff made in other countries, sure, but there are decent quality stuff being made in China.

The Raoul Merton boots are very similar to the pair of Julius Marlow Massives that I own, and seem very similar in quality.

      • Great thanks need some for a wedding. Will probably need 2. Are the shoes similar in design (not quality) to these? http://www.florsheim.com.au/shop/style/223405-001.html

        • Yes they are a similar design :)

        • -3

@jv: 2 pairs. Take your useless comments elsewhere JV

        • -1

          @grechie88:

          2 pairs.

          No worries Rolf…

        • Just found 3 pairs of size 9 in the warehouse, added them for sale, get in quick!

        • @brandhousedirect: have bought 2 pairs any chance for faster delivery? Still waiting on my delivery from last Friday :(

  • I bought the Raoul Merton one for $49 from you guys and after two months of wearing, there are cracks across my shoes just above my toe lines… WHY??? And they are so freaken comfortable too…

    • Sorry to hear that. Please send pictures of the problem to [email protected]
In the meantime you may want to buy a new pair whilst they are on sale in this promotion as they are comfortable shoes.

      • +1

In the meantime you may want to buy a new pair

Why should they have to buy a new pair?

Two months of wearing is very unreasonable to be having such problems.
What is your warranty on these shoes ?

        • I will need the supplier to assess the customers pictures of the shoes. The reason I suggested they buy a new pair, is because the customer said they are "so freaken comfortable" and perhaps may want to buy a spare pair at this bargain price whilst we are resolving the other issue.

        • +1

          @brandhousedirect:

I will need the supplier to assess the customers pictures of the shoes.

Why? we have statutory warranty laws in this country…

Are you not an Australian company with an ABN/ACN ???

Warranty is with the seller, not the manufacturer…

        • I need to see pictures. That is not unreasonable at all.

    • there are cracks across my shoes just above my toe lines…

Exactly why I posted my first comments in this thread…

The quality of the leather and stitching has really gone downhill since they moved production off shore…

      • Most shoes are made in China these days…Whether they are dress shoes or athletic shoes such as Nike, Asics, Adidas etc…That is the reality of the world we live in.

        • +1

Sorry but as jv stated, 2 months of wearing them is not good quality made. I have a few $10 shoes made in China and Vietnam and wore them every day to work for a year and they never cracked….I oil them every 2 weeks too.. :(

Tis a shame but if i am going to buy from you it would be Julius Marlow and i am not 100% sure if quality is better than Raoul Merton since probably the same company manufactures them

        • Hi I am happy to assist and to review the quality of your pair. Please send pictures via email.
If the shoes were comfortable as you said, it is worth giving another pair ago at this bargain price.

        • @brandhousedirect:

If the shoes were comfortable as you said, it is worth giving another pair ago at this bargain price

or you could just replace the poor quality pair for free, as per statutory warranty.

      • +1

it is all about quality control.
        regardless of geographic region.

        • Except you can pretty much map shitty quality control geographically

  • +1

I bought a pair last Friday and they were received on Tuesday. Fit well and for $38 delivered seems a great deal.

    Thanks.

  • hey store rep,

i would like to ask regarding the sizing for the following items.
Raoul Merton Player Mens Leather Dress Shoes - 7 UK / Black
Julius Marlow Clout Mens Leather Suede Shoes - 7 AUS / Maron Suede

May i know the exact size conversion to cm? for both 7uk and 7 aus

    • Hi please email us at: [email protected] and we will look this for you.

      • email sent. hope to receive reply asap. thanks

  • +1

Rep, got any more of those Raoul Pistons in a 7UK? I always miss out :(

  • Thanks OP. Order placed. Good price.

  • Purhcased the Julius Marlow Daring slip on shoes in 'Carbon' colour (only choice) last week. They arrived this week.

Haven't worn them yet - not sure about the colour - a little more brown in them than I thought - not exactly charcoal. What suit colours would this work with / complement??!

    • Hi the carbon colours works great with grey and navy suits. It also works well with black suits if you wear a grey tie or grey shirt. This colour has been very popular and is on trend.

      • +1

I'm on trend - whooo hooo! Thanks rep.

      • I also bought a pair of the Dare carbon shoes. Yes these 'carbon' shoes are more a dark brown than what I think most people would think - a dark grey/ off black colour. So buyers be aware of this. After consulting with my partner and daughter I reckon I'll keep them and give them a go- not normally a colour I would buy though.

  • Rep,

I wear size 10 shoes (UK/AU) and my feet are 26cm long. However looking at the information provided on your website, it shows size 10 is 30cm internal length (see below). Does this mean I should be instead looking at getting a size 8 for a better fit? And what happens if the shoes I get still dont fit me? Who pays for exchanges/returns/refunds?

The approximate internal length measurements are:

    size 7 is 27cm
    size 8 is 28cm
    size 9 is 29cm
    size 10 is 30cm
    size 11 is 31cm
    size 12 is 32cm
