NSW TrainLink 2-for-1 Tickets for Interstate or Regional Train Rides in May

120

Same deal as last year.

Flying is probably cheaper and faster for say Melbourne-Sydney, however this applies to any regional service, such as places not covered by airlines (cheaply).

  • No baggage fees (40kg of bags per person)
  • No need to worry about a taxi to airport
  • Good for those who fear flying?

Train journeys are naturally much slower than air travel but give so much more as far as sight seeing is concerned if you have never seen the country. Also it can be quite peaceful (if you go outside school holidays!).

    • Agreed! If you can afford a flight thats fine, but if your option is bus or train…. train is awesome!

Bigger seats, more legroom, ability to get up and stretch legs, and much more scenic/relaxing. Onboard shop with snacks/magazines etc isnt as overpriced as you would think either!

If you havent been on a service recently give it a go. I went to Sydney from ACT and loved it!

  • Keep in mind that due to last weeks super storm for all journeys between SYD and BNE along the main northern railway there will be bus services at some points making your journey slower and more uncomfortable.
