GEE7

Now a "near-best" price (w/ Code), but better than a recent one for same phone… [Optus] 3G only. (Another OzBer told us Code "GEE7" expires 31 May)

"Free Shipping"

Cf: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182109 …for spec's, limitations, higher prev price, etc.

Let us know your experiences with this phone…

PS One we saw an associate unwrap seemed to be from (or for?) India, I seemed to have been Opened (as one pair of tapes were cut), but 2 additional pairs of tapes were uncut, out of the shipping bag. Is this good enough?

The Zenfone 2 would boast a higher higher battery spec, Lollipop 5 preinstalled, an extra SIM slot and more network bands + LTE support, and the processor will also pull slightly ahead of the Snapdragon 800. Camera however is slightly worse. It'd set you back a $100 extra though.

    • actually depending on the intel CPU chosen the 1.8 Ghz version would be less or somewhat equal to the Snapdragon 800 however the the top spec 2.3 Ghz zenphone which i believe your talking about does blow the SD 800. but otherwise i totally agree =P

    • Android on x86 is still quite buggy, I have a zenfone 6.

non removable 2500 mah battery will be a killer for some looking at this

    • I've heard the battery life is pretty great actually

      • And… of course, if you need more run-time, PowerBanks are cheap, if you direct-import them from HK.

In fact, before Code was known, GearBest had an offer at for this phone: Pay $1 more for a reasonably-large (in mA capacity) PowerBank.

(If you buy with Code GEE7, see if you can get that deal, & let us know)

It is only USD 158.97 using code GEE7 and expires on 31 May.

    • Thanks for that.

Yep, that's closer to the min.price I saw in a prev OzB deal.

  • In regards to the tape being cut, a lot of "chinese" phones come pre-installed with Chinese based apps, as well as not having the Google Play Store pre-installed. These middle-men (Gearbest, Geekbuying etc.) Will use the phone briefly to remove a fair bit of the bloatware, change the default language to English (or one of your choice) and install GAPPS (Google apps) for you. It's a very convenient service. Plus, it gives you the benefit of not having a potential DOA product, as it should have been used to do these tasks.

I can't comment on this particular model, however I've purchased multiple Chinese branded handsets, and they have all been exactly what I expected.

  • I bought this phone and the OS is great with unique and useful utilities

It's a customised Android like Sense or Touchwiz
