I think the RRP of 10 bucks is a tad high.

260g of Frozen fish for 10 buck? Me think not.

The going price is usually around $39 a kilo now for stuff like Tuna, Ling and other "known" varieties. You can always get that tasteless paste that is Basa cheaper, and "hake" [ not Atlantic hake, but hoki :-/] and blue whiting are always cheaper if you just want something white with a bit of skin, but the price would be around standard, especially as they have waved a bit of cheese at it:-)

Rite Price has been carrying these guys' pies for some weeks. You can see where they make their profit on them, but they are pretty good standard for frozen pre-made, so I'd expect these fillets to be as flavoursome as it is possible to make the non-entity called cod. It was the U.K's choice for fish'n'chips before they managed to utterly collapse the Newfoundland schools some decades back :-(

I'll be keeping my eye out for these - food value for food value, you can replace red meat with 1/3rd the weight of decent fish, so it's a pretty small cost for a main for 2!

Their Salmon and Barramundi pies are well worth watching out for..

It's way…. over price. It's just cod, not a fancy fish.
      RRP should be around $5.

  • That's a good price, wish I'd checked in Coles earlier :/

  • They go alright if you're a bit lazy after work,

      Gracias Señor.

  • They were $2 at my local a few weeks ago and still no one was buying them.
    Thought they tasted ok.
Wanted to buy the battered cod but they were not at that price.

I bought them and thought they were awful. We cooked two, one Spanins, and one Cheese, and made the zucchini and cucumber salad, as listed on the pack. Chucked both out, and ordered a Pizza, using another Ozbargain deal.

I got the curry one.. fish is bland as can be.. sauce made up for the taste

  • Same price at Coles Beldon W.A.

  • On special for $5 at Bondi Junction when I was there Saturday.

  • Still selling at Coles Keilor Downs, Vic. Tried the red curry steam with extra vegies salt & pepper and thought it taste nice. A balance meal for $3, can't complain.

    • My red curry one had a broken bag and was freezer burnt, so I didn't get to try it. It always puzzled me that cod was the favourite batter filling in England, when there was [North Atlantic] hake and haddock available. It holds together well with a good texture, but has all the flavour of foam polystyrene when the cook forgot the salt.
