Link doesn't mention they are reduced.

    What do they normally cost?

Same size is $4.50 at Masters.

        Same quality though?

Go check both out tomorrow jv, and let us know.

I can tell you from buying some today that they had a big sign with the price at $4.98. They scanned at $2.50. So $4.98 was their previous price.

great find, I was looking for one to soak my bbq plates and grill to clean it…

    • It will cost a fortune to fill it with 42 litres of caustic soda. And what will you do with it all afterwards?

Much cheaper and safer just to spray with Oven Cleaner, whilst sitting on some newspaper

Heat and wire brush…done! Maybe some water on the hotplate if it's really filthy but if you scrape and oil it at the end of every cook you shouldn't need it.

Please don't use chemicals on your bbq.

      • It is not the top grill or hot plate. Just the indside of bbq stuff like, Flavour bar and Heat Refelctors etcc..

Just clean with kids sausages before you cook your own.

    • I was thinking the same, but don't know if it would fit. Dimensions for these are 36x36x38cm.

Instead of sunscreen, can I wear it to protect myself from sunlight ?

I bought six of these a few weeks ago at OfficeWorks for $2 each. They were marked down to $4 but scanned at $2. They are the soft style.

Quality is similar, I think possibly identical to the Supercheap Auto 40L ones which are normally about $11 but are regularly (and currently: http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/SCA-F…) on sale 2 for $10. I've bought many that feel the same and have been happy with them. They don't last forever, after a few years of use carrying laundry they develop cracks down the side eventually, but I can live with that, and to be fair they have taken a beating and were left out in the sun a few times which faded and probably weakened them a bit.

Much better than the awful hard ones they well at Woolworths or Coles, which tend to crack easily. I know friends who bought the harder plastic style, and they tend to crack the first time they're dropped or squashed. The softer ones can be kicked around to your heart's content, I think it's mainly age and being left out in the sun that weakens them.

EDIT: I just noticed that the new ones have 'UV Protected' written on them, so it's possible they'll last much longer than my old ones if I leave them outside by accident! Awesome.

  • Great post OP. I'd much rather see something that's great value like this than a bunch of "reduced" products with BS "original" retail prices from DSE. I guess people all define value & bargain differently…

they look like the same ones i always buy from the reject shop for $6

if left outside they will dry up and crack eventually (my one did after about 6months)

ive kept them in the shed it has been 4 months still look brand new

good to fill up with ice and put drinks in it. ice doesnt last long but at night will keep everything cool till the morning.

    • I found the same with ones purchased fr, sun seemed to damage them. But these ones say 'UV Protected' so maybe they'll last longer. I'll find out pretty soon, as I bought six of them.

Jesse Pinkman should have bought one of these.

these things are gold - used them as ice buckets at parties, moved over 8 tonne of soil/gravel via them and use often in the car for the kids wet/sandy stuff from the beach as well as my wetsuit. Also demo'd two bathrooms and laundary and carried everything out in them (all the same set of buckets).

possibly more valuable for day to day life then the humble pool noodle and enloop batteries - and likely just as many OCD nuts who will collect every colour and keep the buckets with original manufacturer tags….

The very small ones (like 10 litres) can be used as squeezy mop buckets. I also use a small one for handwashing and soaking instead of filling the whole laundry trough. Uses less water and leaves the trough outlet available. Big ones are used as laundry basket, and keep one for outdoor uses such as moving soil and washing any animal/pet related stuff outside with the hose.
