      That's for hotels.com :)

      • Oops :)

    and combine with 6% CashRewards
and get Member Rewards credit >3% from Hotelclub

    • Looks like you get higher cashback with Member Rewards credit through the app, but that would mean forgoing CashRewards cashback. So probably best to stick to the lower Member Rewards credit through website so you can still get the CashRewards cashback.

  • How do you enter the code?

Just a heads up to anyone taking the Amex HotelClub offer. On the checkout page, make sure that you click "Debit or Credit card" and enter the card details on the HotelClub website instead of selecting "Paypal".

I've registered 2 Amex cards for the HotelClub offer and made 2 hotel bookings. In one booking, I selected “Debit or Credit card” and entered the card details, received an email straight away and 3 days later got the statement credit.

For the other one, I paid with another registered Amex card through Paypal. It's been a week and still didn't receive email nor statement credit. I reckon that paying through Paypal is not qualified for the promotion even though the registered Amex card is linked to the Paypal. My 2 cards are the bank issued cards and I can’t find the way to contact Amex to clarify this.

    • Great tip thanks for the heads up!

    • Paypal will not work. It is stated in the terms.

The following transactions are not considered eligible spend for the purposes of the Offer:
(i). Purchasing a merchant’s goods through a third party. For example through a department store and/or concession store (e.g. David Jones or Myer), online aggregator (e.g. PayPal) or retailer

      • Too bad. I overlooked that and my $40 is down the drain now :-(

  • does hotelclub charge fee for cancellations, i remember a year or two ago, they charge $25 per cancellation

    • Check per hotel, it may say "free cancellation up till <a couple of days before your stay>"
I've never seen hotelclub charge a fee. It's usually free cancellation or cannot be cancelled.

  • Ratestogo currently has 18% off, and they're essentially the same website

but you wont get the $40 off $200 Amex

        check your credit card statement.
processed by the same company ;)

    • I like RatesToGo as well but HotelClub also gives you credit to use on future stays which for me personally is a fraction cheaper than RTG.

Sometimes they are absolutely even, and if you want your discount upfront, 20% RTG vouchers are hard to beat.

Right now you're much better off with HC.
