    The prices at Hotelclub are always higher than other searchers. So the savings may be less than $40.

      Thats a very broad statement that is quite often not true, especially if there are coupon codes floating. Plus they have bonus membership rewards, and/or I think there is cashback via cashback.com.au.

        I waa referring to their prices compared to many others without any coupon. That has been my experience using various websites for quite a long time. I only mentioned it to remind others to double check other sites to see if they could get a better deal elsewhere.

    I got cashrewards and Amex rebate thing last time this deal was up with hotelclub. $250 booking came to about $170 or so with $50 amex rebate and $27 from cashrewards.

    Some wedding had then manage to spill out over the entire hotel and we couldn't get a seat at (included) breakfast, dinner or in the bar so I wrote a letter and complained and got a $300 gift card. WIN!

    Good stuff, just used on an Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls. Definitely a good deal for hotels that are usually exempt from coupons!

      You don't need a code. Cash Rewards provides 6% cashback automatically if you go via their portal as usual. As of 1 May, they will provide cashback even when a coupon code is used.

      I've registered 2 Amex cards for this offer and made 2 hotel bookings. In one booking, I entered the details of my Amex card on their website, received an email straight away and 3 days later got the statement credit. For the other one, I paid with another registered Amex card through Paypal. It's been a week and still didn't receive email nor statement credit. I reckon that paying through Paypal is not qualified for the promotion. My 2 cards are the bank issued cards and I can’t find the way to contact Amex to clarify this.

    I would imagine paying via PayPal, they have no way of knowing it was AMEX as PayPal don't pass on your payment details?

      It's not Hotelclub that need to detect if the payment is made with AMEX, but rather AMEX that need to detect if you've spent $200 with Hotelclub. The fact remains, they can't do this if you've used PayPal. You need to pay the merchant directly.

    How can I manually register my Amex card for this offer? David jones cards are difficult to register.
