HIF $50 BONUS EFTPOS Card for Joining, Any Extras and/or Hospital Policy (Health Insurance)

200
FB50

Just use the code FB50 when signing up to any new policy from HIF. It's just recently been re-activated this morning. There will be a coupon box you enter this into when signing up. This will let HIF know to send you a $50 EFTPOS card in the mail along with your shiny new solid plastic membership card.

I've been with HIF since February (for hospital) and for probably a year prior to that for extras. I get roughly 40% back on all my chiropractic and dental bills for only $180 a year!

The customer service is absolutely second to none. They are a little busy but only because they have extremely well trained staff and are one of the best, they also had the lowest price increase this year out of all the funds so people are flocking to them! They are completely not-for-profit (no shareholders) so everything goes back to the members with cash reserves to ensure they can payout on claims.

I don't usually post deals so please excuse me if I've forgotten something!

Don't forget HIF's referral rewards (which I'm assuming this would stack with): quote an existing member's name and membership number when signing up, and they get a $70 EFTPOS card as referral reward.

There's a list of OzBargain members who are happy to refer you (and maybe share the reward) here.

    • HIF offered this to me but I refused. I'm a little bit of a 'VIP' customer but I honestly believe they are the best in the market. I just wish I could reveal who I was in real life but alas not…

      • are you broden ?

      • Do you have a moustache?

        Are you Richard?

  • what are the T&C of the $50 GC

    • Join, enter the code. Unfortunately because I'm one of the first to be notified they haven't written them yet.

I'll put it this way… I signed up for fortnightly payments for the LOWEST cost extras plan at $180 a year… and they still sent me a card! Pretty much consists of signing up and they'll send one. They aren't the kind of company to shaft customers. I'm going through a sticky situation at the moment, I joined in February and I only JUST discovered I need neurosurgery. They are moving heaven and earth around the government legislation to try and get it to me!

Hell… my tooth removal cost me $300 and they paid $140 back straight off the bat with no waiting period on my extras! Plus they've been paying about 40% of my chiro every few weeks!

Just out of interest, how do you get neurosurgery covered under an extra policy?

        • You don't…

You sign up to a hospital policy later on after purchasing the extras cover and were so highly impressed by the service

IN THE TITLE: I've been with HIF since February (for hospital) and for probably a year prior to that for extras.

I really love my HIF Health Insurance - they have had the lowest premium increases for 2 years in a row, plus they've got an app to make claims via where you can just take a picture of the invoice and send it off and they do the rest. I've also found their dental benefits excellent.

Got my $50 eftpos voucher for signing up, extras cover is pretty good

  • How could we stack the referral though, don't you enter a referral number when you signup, you can't enter the promo code and referral number?

Is HIF not based anywhere so you can go to any dentist and get the same benefits?

    • +1

dentist generally has to be a registered practitioner but pretty much any dentist in australia

I'm looking at signing up, waiting the year and getting a crown done and HIF looks good so far, quite high limits and percentage you can claim.

I've just called them regarding some benefit so found out that they currently have 2 months waiting period waived on all extra plans till the end of this month. Plus $50 eftpos card from the Facebook promotion (quoted code above) and that if u refer someone to switch or join, you ll get $70 eftpos card on top of the $50. But the person who you refer will not get any. :) cheers

    • Have you signed up yet?

has anyone got their gift card?

      • Yes, I did last Saturday. Still waiting for membership number and further info. They told me 2 weeks to get the membership card and within 4 weeks for the gift card.

Also this promotion is expired end of this month (mar to May)

        • Thanks for letting me know, I will make sure I apply before the end of May

        • @strikerzebra: Nws, got my membership number yesterday, can start access and claiming online. Need to wait another 7 days for my card to arrive then I can start claiming :) cheers

        • @annajh1244:

So you have to get the physical card to claim?

The reason I ask is I have a dentist appointment on the 11th of June which I will need to claim for

        • +1

@strikerzebra: if you don't want to pay out of pocket yet, then wait for the physical card. If not pay full amount, ask for receipt with item codes of treatment you received. Then claim back online, recommend you to get all the treatment items code and rang HIF if it's covered before proceed to treatment.

          @annajh1244:

Ok thank you, I am just getting a checkup and a few fillings so I'm sure it's covered as that is just general dental.

          @strikerzebra:

Almost certain they will cover that

I know it sounds a bit greedy. Can I sign up to hospital cover and extra cover separately and get two $50 gift cards?
And get 2 different referrers to share the reward twice?

    • They gave me two different bonuses when I signed up for my covers so I can't see why not. Of course, I'm plugging the hell out of them in return :)

    • You can only try. .. depends if their system is smart enough to pick it up

  • Just signed up with the code and under an oz bargainer for a referral bonus, will let you know how I go
