Looks ok, it's $16 off the standard price of $85 delivered. Definitely not $70 off. :)

    • Yes, but it's still likely to be 50% off with Repco's pricing.

From now on I am asking myself the need vs want question before I buy stuff. This one I want but no need.

  • So is Motorola a rebadged oricom?

  • can't seem to find replacement batteries on eBay for this model. being a Ni battery. how long will it last?

User guide says these units can take either the supplied battery packs, or three AA batteries:

I'd take the "10km range" with a grain of salt, though. The range quoted for CB radios is rather like the "up to 24Mbps" of ADSL2. You might get reception between two mountain tops that are 10km apart, but don't expect anything like that range in an urban, built-up area. Even in country areas, UHF radios won't transmit from one side of a hill to the other, because UHF radio signals only travel in straight lines (and won't penetrate soil).

  • 10km range! I might just buy them and take my time machine back to when I was 8-10 years old. Awesome.

User guide says nominal 1.5 Watt (ie, far below 5 Watt CBRS limit).
