  • Must be nationwide was on last week as well
I am in Brisbane and can confirm this is running

  • Found in Perth multiple Stores.. Bought a pair of 10W cool white BC ones, haven't tried it though.

Yep same in Wollongong, bought a couple of packs.

The 10 watt ones are pretty bright and the bulbs look well made, solid. This is the best current deal on LED bulbs outside the rubbish on eBay.

Do you know the lumens rating by any chance?

Edit: This seems to be the one:

It's an average globe…I think I'd still pay more for Philips brand, the hot running of this globe doesn't lend itself to long life…

      Yeah that is the one.

Only had it a few days, seems good. Not bad for $5 each. The Phillips ones are over $10 each aren't they? It will take you a long time to get that back and only if the Coles one fails early. It seems pretty efficient at 8.6 watts and mine seem bright.

As I said they look nicely made and solid. I have been impressed so far, if they fail early I will be less impressed :)

only $5 for a 10wat globe though, Philips are a heap more than that, around $15-$20

that LED site you link says its runs hot at 85c, when I look at a Philips 10watt it is 84c so no real diffrence there.
The only thing I see is the yearly running cost is cheaper with the Coles one (not counting the cheaper purchase price)

  • Are they dimmable? If they are not, replacing the existing lamp with dimmer could be a problem.

    • +2

      no, not dimmable.

saw this in World Square, Sydney store last week.

  • Same at Burwood, but I passed because I'm not too sure how they stack up against other brands like Osram.

Also, the Power Factor is terrible, but this won't affect your electricity bill.

I'd hate for the LED to start dimming prematurely. They are supposed to last 15 years.

These are the ones I have in my house currently, been using them for a few years now.

  • Bought 2 6W Warm White to use for desk lamp. My current Mirabella Petite Spiral 13W Warm White are too bright at night. Thanks!

  • No screw type in the 10w left at Randwick, we anyone know if there are any around that area? They still had some 8w

  • I swapped a few Chinese cheapies with Coles 10W warm LEDs this morning. The Coles ones are noticeable brighter and warmer. I like them..and so does my wife. I'll be picking up a few more tomorrow.

    • I'm surprised too! I bought the 6W ones and they seem to be brighter than, or at least as bright as, my current Mirabella 13W. I returned the warm white and got the cool white because the yellowish light makes me feel sleepy when I study at my desk.

  • nice.. I bought a pack today of the 10W warm white BC type globes and replaced the 'ancient' 15W CFL in my loungeroom and the LED is brighter (yes, brighter than the CFL after it has warmed up). Will go back and buy some more and replace the other 8 or so globes in my house with them. Might get an 8W cool white for the toilet and laundry though.

    • Ewww….I hate cool white in any room…just looks so crusty, clinical and like a dentist surgery colour… :p
