WTB: New Oven (Westinghouse WVE665S)

Hey everyone,

My oven decided to blow up (~30yrs old), so I'm looking at a new oven.

I'm looking at Westinghouse WVE665S (888mmx596mmx568mm)

Harvey Norman $1189 (-$25 with newsletter signup)
Good Guys $1188
JB Hifi $1193
AppliancesOnline $1193
Masters $1399
PowerLand $1049

Can anyone find me a better deal, or do you have any recommendations for a different oven? I will probably end up trying to price match/get a better price from HN/JB/GoodGuys, as they're relatively close and can pick up, and the extra $25 off.

Also; I'll need someone to remove the old oven/install new oven - the current/new one will need to be hardwired out/in. Best to call a local sparky for those types of jobs?

Thanks OzB community, you rock!

Edit: Oops, should have put it under Find me a bargain.. Can't change it now? :/

You state that you are looking for WVE655S but all of your links are for the WVE665S. Which is correct?

In any case, you are probably best off purchasing from Good Guys and then claiming their price guarantee for 120% of the difference refunded.

    • Good pickup - thanks :P Copy/paste is more accurate than my erroneous typing ;)

Good Guys probably won't price match PowerLand's price being that it's online/NSW store. They're also $1 cheaper than any of the local brick and mortar pricing.

Saying that though, if the prices drop before EOY, I have the price guarantee. Thanks for reminding me about that!

Betta have it for $1149 if you want a local bricks and mortar store. Otherwise Billy Guyatts have it for $1109 with free delivery to Perth. I believe that both would qualify for the Good Guys guarantee.

Awesome - thank you for your time!

  • Do you have an Amex? Have you signed up for the Harvey Norman cash back?

    • The missus does. Are you talking about this?

        Yes. :)

Are those list prices? Have you tried negotiating in person? I suspect you'd be able to do much better simply by asking for each shop's best price.

    • They are, but it's good to be armed with competitors pricing before the standard 'No mark up on ovens' or similar. I will definitely be asking for the best price which I'd hope will be lower than the list prices ;) I'll probably make an executive decision on the weekend.

      Thanks again for everyone's replies!
