  • Any way to get android on it?

    • +6

Why would you want android on it? Just buy a Huawei Y550, better all round phone.

      • +1

        Y550 sales are all gone.

      • Every phone should be running it. Blackberry, symbian, Windows… ergh. Just stop-already. And being handcuffed to iTunes, hilarious. Android is the answer.

    • Nope. (As far as I know)

    • +2

You'd not want to most of the times anyways, with that sort of spec, it's going to give you cancers with Android.

  • I wouldn't recommend this phone. The screen is awful, and the lack of proximity sensor hurts (my dad found the screen would activate and mess around while on a phone call).

The revised version (Lumia 532) is better.

    • and double the price

      • Fair enough… but I know the Telstra version has been as cheap as $50.

Anyway, the point I was making is the 530 is a terrible phone at any price.

        • Bought mine $29 Telstra locked at BigW some time ago. It's a decent back up phone though.

    • For 50 dollars you can't get much. It was meant to be as cheap as possible. So they had to cut off some stuff.

the optus prepaid is only $49

    http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/optus-nokia…

I bought it yesterday. price beat Harvey Norman $45.6

Happily unlock the phone via optus website for free.

    https://secure-unlock.com.au/ou/launch

I was a little disappointing because I was expecting dual sim slots. This optus version only has single slot.

The overall feeling of the phone is ok. the screen color not as pretty as iphone. and the back plastic cover is quite slippery. lack of grip.

Nevertheless, it's only $45.6. great backup phone or a toy for kids.

    • Can i unlock any optus prepaid phone for free?

    • Are you sure this is free? It indicates an $80 charge applies - but how do they charge you?

      • +7

        no charge.

I just fill in the form and click submit. next pop up the unlock code. Try it.

        • I'll be damned. Good work, mate. I expect if there was a charge it would have asked for a credit card at that point.

          Awesome work 93561…

This should be posted as it's own deal….

    • Is there anyway to unlock Telstra lumia 530? I bought it sometime ago. looking to unlock.

    • I thought Harvey Norman only Price Match…. How did you Price Beat?? How many %? Where is the number $45.6 from? 6.9% OFF??

      • +1

        Harvey Norman was selling $48

so Officeworks beat 5% to $45.6

    • thanks.

    • Thanks.. Unlocked one..

  • Is this dual sim? Thanks

    • no it's not dual sim

  • I paid only $29 for this phone a couple of weeks ago at bigw

    • Me too. But those in BigW are Telstra locked.

I've also got Denim update last week.

    • how to unlock telstra?

      • From Telstra, http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Pre-Paid-Mobiles-KB/Ho…

        Unlocking Fees

There is a fee to have your Pre-Paid mobile phone unlocked.

It's $80 for phones activatd 6 or less months, or never activated; and $25 for phones activated more than 6 months up to 2 years. There is no unlocking fee after that.

Make sure you have enough credit in your main credit balance (not including bonus credit) so the fee can be deducted from there without you reaching for your credit or debit card.

Once payment is completed you will be advised of unlocking instructions.

Optus is still offering 3 months free Netflix ($12 a month plan) with the Optus locked version. I got one from HN for $49 via an OzBargain post. With the assistance of 93561 above, it's now unlocked. I use mine as an iPod Touch style player for the gym. Works great! They take up to 128MB microSD cards so makes for a great high capacity music player. In fact, unlike an iPod Touch, this has GPS too so I use it running to track my training. The form factor is virtually identical to my old iPhone 3GS so i already had a bunch of running accessories that accept it. Winner all round.

    • 128mb? ;-)

      • +1

I believe that he means 128GB microSD card.

      • +1

        Yup, you got me.
