120

Just replaced the tyre(225/55/17) on my Forester with Hankook Ventus, buy 3 get the 4th free. $465 in total, comparing it to current price on jaxtyres.com.au I saved about $200, $171 each there. I had these changed at Norlane Tyre Service in Geelong but the gentlemen there said the deal is available at all Hankook dealers.

You should get more pumped up about them, don't be so flat.

However, a bit of rotation may be nice, to help with your alignment.

Checked my local dealer here, looking for two. Quoted me $160 each.

  • Just out of curiosity, how do you take advantage of these deals if your car's tyres are fine? Do you just buy the 4 tyres and bring the new tyre with you at your next service (when one of them is worn out) and tell them to chuck it on the wheel?

I've done this and just paid for fitting, balancing and realignment later.

At the time, I found buying tyres from the US was significantly cheaper than in Australia; and I brought a set off eBay (my office mailroom wasn't too impressed with me when 4 tyres turned up). However that was 5-6 years ago, so it might be different now.

wow you take the cake for getting tyres delivered to the office mailroom, would love to see a pic of that.

Some stores will swap your tyres over for free if you buy the tyres from them; if you keep your receipt they might honour it later. Otherwise you can just pay a tyre shop to change your tyres. I would say $50 for all 4 is reasonable. If you have a relationship with the shop they will usually do it for nothing if they are not busy, it's heaps easy and doesn't take very long.

Note: You would never just replace one tyre. You should always replace them in pairs at least and have the newest ones on the front.

  • Can't find any detail about the deal on their website

For whatever reason its not mentioned on their website, find a dealer and give them a call for a quote.

  • Thanks op

  • Tyres have short life time , even if they are new and never used . so I buy tyres only when I need them . every tyre stamped with the manufacturing date , it is four digits , 2 for the week number and the other 2 for the year for example 2814 mean week 28 in 2014 . so this tyre is almost 11 months old.
