  • Wow did you type all that up from the image?! +ve for that alone. lol

    • you can select the text in the PDF file to copy and paste it

    • hehe

Judging by the use of upper and lower case, he probably used some form of OCR on the PDF file. I might be wrong but that might explain the case of the characters.

    • Why OCR when you can copy and paste?

    • It was a copy and paste job. What would have happened is their designers will have their fonts setup to use a constant case that doesn't distinguish between upper and lower case charachters. This problem can also occur in some design rastering systems as well.

I shouldn't know this much on the topic, that's what you get for working in marketing/communications.

You WEREN'T supposed to mention it… It's supposed to be a SECRET !!!

lol these guys have a sale each week

lol, is ur nickname stand for the rival David Jones by chance? :)
+1 for the massive detail text above…

    • agreed. they are like perpetually on sale.

10% off all apple MACs, plus myer one point!!!

    • +1

does that include those apple laptops?

  • Pretty good, 10% of mac for people who's looking for discounted mac :)

  • +2

i will give u a positive for sharing ur secret with me, dont worry i wont tell!!

  • +1

A further 50% off the already reduced items. I'm in!!

  • so is this for myer one members only?

    • If it's the case, you can always subscribe on site in any store… it's free!

    • nope, its an everyone sale event - just that they're not advertising it other than to MyerOne members a day in advance.

      • Just wondering how you get this as I'm MyerOne member myself but never got any email regarding this sale.

        • Long time MyerOne member, maybe they went list picking when selecting how it was sent out - but who knows.

  • and I think stores are open till 9pm on 2Dec

Went to their sale last week, made a trip out to Knox.
They must have the slowest staff known to mankind and on top of that only had minimal registers open.
They could double their sales if their staff pulled their fingers out.

Used to be an employee at Myer. I'm not defending myer/myself but gotta pass a bit of lenience because the payment machines were over 60 years old and slow as hell. They're in no way as easy to operate and nothing like the machines at a supermarket. It takes minutes to get through all the prompts correctly (make one little mistake and the whole process needs to be restarted). They look a bit like a DOS computer from the '80s.

Have a bit of a peek at the screen next time, I swear I ain't making excuses.

      • if they haven't siphoned the money offshore they might've been able to upgrade the POS :(

  • would staff be able to use their discount on top of these sales?

    • Probably. Assuming it's the actual staff and not staff buying on behalf of friends (a bit unfair in my opinion) =/.

  • Thanks!

Secret sale my ass. Saw two ads on TV during the 6 o'clock news about this 'secret sale.'

    • +1

Yeah, just saw those ads myself :(

Oh well, at least we all got a few more hours than most to plan for it.

  • I wonder if the 10% off apple mac is on top of the already reduced price in the current catalog? $1499 for the entry macbook pro in the catalog -10% would be $1349.10. Considering cost price on the floor is about $1440, that would be a damn good bargain.

    • It's not. Read the post. Current catalogue prices are invalid as part of this sale.

      • That'll teach me for not reading the top, I was looking for fine print at the bottom of the pdf.

    tHANKs fOR TYPinG ThiS uP!!!

  • I think i will get some Jeans. $45 for some Maddox jeans sounds good, and $35 for Reserve not bad too.

Not really the best time to be spending money on my self though, i'm sure the rest of my family will not be able to drop everything to go tomorrow and by me a xmas gift.

    • Can vouch for the Maddox jeans, they are the cats pyjamas (not literally). Good wearing, long lasting.

  • not so secret when it was on telly today…

  • I just came back from Myers for some denim and the variety and style wasn't that great. It reeked of sales gimmick to pull people into their stores.

  • I went there, found some good stuff on the 50% off rack, +1 from me

    • Me too, looks like that added a bit to the reduced racks recently.

  • Saw the ad in the Daily Telegraph. Yesturdays one to be exact!
Oh well the deals are still pretty good even though styles were limited (was looking for a darker coloured shirt) but I walked away with Levi jeans for $70. Usually on sale for $70 so it's alright I guess.

  • went to both blacktown and parra stores today.. clearance clothes were all meh

  • got an imac. it was ok, about $200 off. considering that macs usually don't get discounts i'm satisfied with it.

  • Myer are a joke. For a premium retailer who stocks premium products at a premium price you at least should expect service better than that of Big W and Target. The sale didn't seem too bad, but I wasn't willing to wait the three hours it would of taken to get served at the Perth store. I felt sorry for the poor guy that was working in the mens business shoe section as he looked really stressed. Another resounding failure for management, hire some staff or give your existing employees more hours.
