    Affiliate marketing link

    • actually I don't think it is… the direct link I got from searching from Dell.com.au (I don't have a Dell account) and the lifehacker link are ever so slightly different but there's nothing I can see that identifies Lifehacker as getting a kickback.

      • Oh bugger… negative vote revoked. Apologies!

  • If it is, it's a lifehacker affiliate link not mine, I saw the deal there and copied it here. Seems fair to me.
    How can you tell anyway?

Direct link from searching via the front page is http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=au&l=en…

    • It definintely went through a tracking link when I clicked on it earlier…

go through the main page, seems like a good deal although who would use pics so small and there is the no ink imaging etc interesting deal

    • yeah, it's not for me.. bu it's a good price if you want/need such a thing.

      • i might buy just for R&D hmmm good price though and especially not a mistake from what i can see

note this is like lexmark printers the consumables are the eal cost ie paper for this unit (zinc or whatever trademakr they call it)

    • small? … what!? 3"x2"!! Thats a bit useless isn't it? I can look on my phone/camera/PDA LCD is I want that small.

I nearly bought one assuming it was standard postcard size. thanks!

      • Maybe as a present for a niece or nephew … or even a relative who still prefers photos (yep, even small ones) …

Also, other people said it uses the same paper as the Pogo printer (from daye) … which suggests the print outs will actually be sticker photos …

okay … maybe someone else can figure a purpose for that :)

  • Looks like the Polaroid Pogo ($20 at Kmart - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/18231) except spruced up.

Looks like it uses the same paper too.

  • Dell EPP codes work for this offer as well, taking down the price by an extra 10%.

    • +4

      RACV code (4MZR3KTJJRT0VS) gives 15%
and since paper is about $18 for 30 from OW for the pogo printer, with this turns out to be $42.06 (after discount) for the printer and 96 sheets of paper. Not bad.

      • I ordered one using my Employee Purchase Discount, and then ordered one using the code above - don't know if you need to fill in the Membership number though…

Sorry, I simply can't trust any Dell so-called "bargain".

    • Do you ever vote + for anything?

      • -3

Yes, but I'm not like many in here who blindly select "+" for almost every post.

Nor do I get upset by people who "-" my posts. I don't take it personally.

There are some regulars in here (e.g. Elephant) who "-" every post I make. I mean, wow, get a hobby :)

        • +3

          Yespleasethankyou

Maybe posting a deal yourself might change your attitude - very easy to criticise others, but coming up with goods to share seems like a bit of hard work. - or should we say "hobby"

  • yes ordered as I have plenty paper. Will compare with Pogo when arrives. Still no go on iPhone.

  • -2

Sorry, Dell deals automatically get a downward vote from me.

    • why?

  • +1

I already have a Pogo too, but I got this deal just because of the paper… Officeworks is 18 for 30 sheets, so I would've paid 54 bucks to get 90 sheets. This was $42.06 for 96 sheets, plus a free printer to give as a gift. :)

  • Looks pretty good. Anyone know where you can find the wasabi paper (on it's own) on the Dell site, or elsewhere?

    • read above. cheapest way to get more paper is to order another printer. Throw it out when the paper runs out :-(
Its the same with toner and ink often.
If I had to pay for a genuine toner cartridge, I'd rather buy a new laser printer. Fortunately DX sells toner refill.

    • I can't seem to find it on the Dell website on its own, but OfficeWorks is selling 30 sheets for 18.95 or something.

    ohh noooooo DELLL againnnnn

You going to revoke your positive for the router from Dell?

It’s kinda funny you and YesPleaseThankYou and others voting negative for every Dell deal, when you still have a big fat green positive for the Dell ‘deal’ (not that the error was ever a deal) that sparked this rediculous and ongoing tantrum.

      • There's a time limit on how long someone can revoke a vote, on their own.

That said, if they want their votes revoked, they can post on the "talk to a moderator" to ask that their votes be revoked.

  • The old get your with the consumables trick.

anyone actually got notice of shipping yet?

    • not yet for me, but I paid for credit card and so I don't know if that takes longer or what.

      • You'll know when they do an authorisation on your credit card.
My bank even sends me an email when that happens (St George)

    • ordered 2 on Wed 2/12/09, payment by cc, still at order acknowledgement stage on Sat night

    • I ordered my two on 1/12/2009 and have received them today. :) I have printed via bluetooth from my Windows Mobile PDA and no problems.

Just a hint for people printing via BT, just "send file" rather than "Print via Bluetooth". You don't even need to pair it first. The printer just receives the graphics file and auto prints it.

  • Excellent deal, especially for the paper. I bought a pogo from Kmart for $30, and then a couple more at $20.
My brother went to America recently, and i got him to bring me back 3x 80pk of Pogo paper pretty cheaply. But this Wasabi paper is even cheaper.

I think the Pogo printer is better quality, with metal construction with a nice finish and solid feel. The wasabi looks a bit cheaper and plastic build.

Bought a couple wasabi now. The 48pk of paper for $6.60 is actually better value than the 96pk for $20.90. But obviously you have to pay for a printer with every lot of paper, so i went for the 96pk.
Keep in mind that 24pk is free, and the a 48pk is $6.60. So it's not $6.60 for 48pces, it's $6.60 for an extra 24pces. And the 96 pack is $20.90 for an extra 72pces.

Just received a date for shipping my order of 17/12/09

  • Can any one confirm whether the Pogo Zink paper is compatible with the Wasabi? What I've read so far suggests that it's not. This would be a problem as it seems that it's almost impossible to get more Wasabi paper in Australia.

  • Received my 1st Wasabi from Dell. Expect the others (for the paper) next week. Many thanks to the poster of this deal.

I've done experiments with the Wasabi and the Pogo and can vouch that either's paper can be used. I slipped a sheet of the opposing brands in each of them and loaded up with the correct blue sheet for the machine and all is well. So yes, the heaps of expired paper that I've bought cheaply from Officeworks is fine. I'm keeping these sealed in the fridge.

These work fine on my Nokia N95 but of course not the iPhone ( email the photos to computer or bluetooth device or mms which is a bit expensive)

    • I went into Officeworks in Nov or Oct, and they still had paper with use by 8/09 for $6.99.

I asked them would they reduce it cause it's expired, and also explained that Kmart have the same expired paper for $1 a pack. The guy checked with his manager and came back and said no.

What a bunch of unethical bastards, selling expired paper to people at full price. Obviously your local store was different. How much did you pay?

PS: Dell called me yesterday saying delivery of my Wasabi's will be Tuesday 15th.

Also, i thought there was a bluetooth app for the iPhone to give it full BT funtionality, or close to it?

      • -2

There was reason why that shouldn't have been price-matched.

        • First of all, i didn't say it should have been price matched with Kmart. I said it should have been reduced because it was expired. And i quoted Kmart's price to them hoping that they would follow the trend, not necessarily match the price.

Anyway, would you like to share with us the reason why you believe it shouldn't be price matched?

Is it because K-Mart's pogo paper price was for a clearance item, and Officeworks state in their terms that don't price match (-5%) clearance items. Is this the reason, or is there some other nugget of information (or personal opinion) you want to share??

      • tell Officeworks that Dee Why store sold off there paper to me at $1 for 10 packs and $3 for 30 packs in Oct/Nov when I asked for the deal and mentioned KMart/expiry date etc. I spent $30, or more if I wanted, over two visits with two different managers on the expired paper that works fine on the Wasabi (another two arriving tomorrow according to Dell).

Yes there was an iBluetooth app but apparently the author has been excommunicated from Cydia. Just do a search for ibluetooth in Cydia…

        • Ok thanks. Obviously my local store's manager is a bit of a tosser. They don't have any more now. I was actually thinking that someone else went in there and asked the same thing and they said yes. Cause there were 3 packs sitting on the rack for a while, and then they were all gone all of a sudden. Maybe a different manager on duty, i don't know.
Anyway, my brother brought me back a lot from America, for about $2.95 per 10 sheets. And now i've got a bunch of Wasabi paper coming for slightly less, so i'm pretty stocked now.

          I don't have an iPhone, i don't like it.

Looks like the price for the 96 sheets option has gone down a few dollars but the "4MZR3KTJJRT0VS" coupon which takes 15% off the total price does not work anymore.
Edit: Coupon still works in the home section but not the small business.

    • Wow, it was like $21, now it's $16.50.
The price for the 4 pack has risen though, from $6.60 to $8.60.

Yeah the coupon still works. :)

Got a call on Thur or Fri last week saying delivery would be on Tue 15th between 12-5pm. And the guy attempted delivery at 11am. >:(
I was home actually, but was asleep. But if they try to charge me for re-delivery i will tell them off.

  • +1

I received mine the other day with 96 sheets. The box also came with a 12pack so its 108 sheets in total.

  • Can anyone please tell me what the expiry was on the paper that was bought from Dell?

    • 3/2010

  • Printer is now $49

  • Pogo now $150 at Officeworks. Rec rtl $200 (Ted's Camera). Polaroid out of bankruptcy!
