  • I think they have these every 6 months. Good for those who need a priter.

      A priter?

So which one is the cheapest with following features:
    Multi print scan copy fax
    Duplex print scan
    Wireless
    Mono
    Laser

It's not part of this promotion but the MFC-L2740DW is what you're after.

Has a low duty cycle but enough for home usage and the generic toners are cheap.

With 5% price match at Officeworks you should get it for under $230…although they won't always match certain stores but it all depends on who you ask at the store.

      Good luck.

  • What are the participating resllers?

    • "For information regarding participating and authorised resellers, please contact the cash back customer service team on 1300 761 785 or e-mail [email protected]"

They've specifically excluded Officeworks as one, probably due to their price matching policy.

  • In the same boat, looking for a cheap duplex scanner to scan a stack of old documents. Unfortunately many look to be beyond what I'm willing to pay (>$200), even with this promotion. Interesting how duplex printers can be gotten so cheap, but not duplex scanners…

Have thought about just getting a cheapie single sided ADF scanner (have seen them <$50 on special), manually scanning both sides and writing a script to weave the pages together.
Currently just abusing the office scanner at work (which is quite nice, supporting duplex A3 and only takes ~2 seconds per page to scan), but would prefer to have something at home to avoid having to cart around stacks of paper and hogging shared facilities.

If you use a 1 sided scanner use PDFSAM and these instructions http://www.pdfsam.org/wiki/howto-mix-pdf/ by default it does 1 page stepping with reverse order on the second document (as if you were using a document feeder, untick the reverse if not)

      • Nice!
Saves me writing a script if I go that route :)

Yeah so far the best around my price range is probably this unit:

      http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=2519687…
brother ads-1600w. Unfortunately no cash back but it ticks all the boxes, wifi, duplex scan, ocr, etc

      • That does indeed look like a nice scanner. Too bad about the price though.

Interesting that the all-in-ones would be cheaper, but bulkier (this matters a bit for me) and much slower scan speeds, though I don't mind just letting it run in the background.

ALMOST needed a new printer but my old Cannon came good in the end. But a TIP…before buying a printer check the price/availability to you of aftermarket ink, ink is the biggest cost of ownership.

    • Thats why I choose brother usually (with friends and family when asked), about $10 max for 4 ink for mine, replace maybe once every few months, I swear some of the aftermarkets have more ink. Also Brothers have 4 separate tanks unlike some still with the old 1 black, 1 colour BS
