      Cheers, added to the post

      • Add to the title if you want, might get more votes & stop a double post.

        • Did my best to fit in the title. Cheers mate.

    • I'm still waiting for DSE to send me a message telling me it's ready to pick up my Eneloop Rouge 8pk.
      Bought it 6 days ago, are others also waiting a while to get theirs?

  • OUTPUT max. 1 A
    will take forever to charge any newish device

    • -2

      Pretty much this. Be wary of charging any smart phone built in the past 3 years. Minimum acceptable output is 1.7-1.8A.

      • What exactly does "minimum acceptable" mean?

        • +1

          Means if it is less than this the battery on your phone or tablet will drain faster than it can be recharged. Very common for cheap car chargers and old usb wall chargers.

          @julz:

          That doesn't sound right. I use the 1A charger that came with my M950 mouse to charge my OnePlus One at my desk and it is fully capable of charging it to 100% even when used.

          Also I use an old blackberry wall charger (probably like 500-700mA) to charge my HP TouchPad overnight and it is always fully charged by morning. It complains about it if used from dead flat, but anything about ~5% and it works fine.

          I don't think "minimum acceptable" is the correct term to use. Perhaps not the fastest charging thing, but then if fastest charging was the most important thing I'd get a higher current rated charger.

        • @julz: Those cheap charger you are referring to outputs around 350mah. They are from things like bluetooth headset or old Nokia phones. The 1A eneloop battery is not really the same thing.

        • @Domingo: Some phones don't drain nearly as fast as others. My LG G3 for example drains faster than it charges on 1A if I'm using it at the same time. 2A however will actually charge the battery even if I'm using it heavily while I do so.

          @potplanty:

          I'm not disagreeing. My old cigarette socket charger didn't prevent my Nexus 4 from draining with GPS and google maps navigation on at the same time.

          However, that doesn't necessarily mean 1.7 - 1.8A is the minimum acceptable. As something thrown in a bag for emergency charges/extra top ups, this thing is fine. In fact, do they even make 2A powerbanks in small capacaties? And for less than $10?

        Works fine on my iphone 5S

      • +2

        That's utterly bs. If your smart phone drains almost 3000mah in a few hours sitting idle then you should return it.

        You shouldn't watch movie at 100% brightness when your battery is low either.

      • +1

        I can use my Note Edge playing a game with this on and still charging at a much slower rate of about 1% every two minutes. Hence my phone doesnt even drain 1000mAH. It is still quite usable IMO. In fact, I've used a USB meter to test voltage drainage from a few different batteries, even ones marked as 2000mAH will struggle to get out 1400mAH.

      Yes, it will take 3-4 hours.

      But this is one of the smallest and lightest mobile boosters you can buy. I don't think people are buying it as a primary charging source, they're buying it as something small that can get them through a couple more hours until they get home.

      For this, it works well and I've recommended them to a few of my friends. For other needs, the higher capacity Xiaomis are a better option.

      Edit: Also, we are talking about $8.49 here!
