        • @helnandez: Someone seems to be so emotional here LOL. I just shared my experience and sure we see many others too. I may be Mr BadLuck but I just needed to prevent my fellow ozbargainers fall in to same bad luck (and pain) dealing with those guys. No need to go to Harvey, luckily there are decent sellers out there for better bargains, that is why I am here. Not like someone here to protect GearBest (something like that).

  • Code 'LK3NOTE' doesn't seem to be working now.

    • Yes, lucky I have placed the order but hasn't paid.

  • Soon we will have to bombard the customer support asking when they are planning to ship :)

  • +1

I ordered a k3-note from GearBest on the 15th of May and it's still not shipped yet. Gearbest CS tell me it could be 14 more days before it gets despatched. :(

  • I don't think they have stock right now> have to wait phones deliver to US first then send to us.

better to buy local stock on ebay

  • +2

Gearbest stay away from them the reason being they are a very dodgy company they take forever to post item.if and when the phone plays up and most of these Chinese phones do some are better than others you don't get warranty and when it packs in they offer you a percentage off what u pay I was offered 35 dollars Australian for a Sj 4000 action cam we payed about 92 for it then they offered me 39 dollars told them no I am going through a shit fight with PayPal so if you want to go through a shit fight buy off Gearbest if not go through bang good and tiny deal they are very good to deal with only trying to help people from loosing there hard earned cash

    • I'm just surprised that the Ozbargain website didn't pick up all the "shit" words and replace them with "obscenity"

  • Got this reply.

"We expect to receive the goods in 7 to 15 days . We have 3 options to offer: "

    ……………….

Oh well this is for my son not in a great hurry.

    • What a crap company. Why can't they display then "Shipping 15-30 days" and then we can decide if we want it or not… :(

      • +2

Because the Chinese aren't know for their business ethics. Promise something, take the money and then change the conditions. They work on the logic that people like superforever will let them get away with their shifty practices. Start a Paypal dispute.

        • +1

A guy posted on whirlpool he bought it on 30May with expedited shipping and now the "DHL saying that the shipment has been collected (Singapore). "

        • @superforever: Probably that guy works for GearBest.

        • +1

          @Ozdeals:

The whirlpool poster seems legit, he has over 500 posts and joined 2006…

        • +1

These type of sites don't actually stock anything most of the time. They just resell others who dropship. It's just luck of the draw which provider they designate your order to (and if they happen to have stock).

        • @PainToad:

I think may be just because of the deal is so popular over the world. Some do have good experience with them of course not so popular deal.

Like Banggood so far I have not problem with them, most arrived within a month.

  • Guys I'm totally legit…
Just very lucky in this particular case…
The parcel originated in Singapore which could suggest a dropshipper in between.
That source may well be dry by now…

In the meantime customs status just updated in Melbourne :)
If all goes to plan I'll have it by tomorrow.
    Will keep u posted…

  • This phone seems promising and also backed by Lenovo, I'm an Apple fan but considering getting it as it seems good!
I did find it from a HK seller on eBay for $199.99AU delivered http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Lenovo-K3-K30-t-Phone-5-0-4G-LTE-…
As least its backed by paypal if it doesn't turn up I suppose

    • Look at the spec, it's a lemon, not the same!

      • My bad… its a fake i see

        • +1

Not a fake just not the same model 5" I think.

          We call this model lemon.

      • netRAT is my collegue, and we both work for gearbest.
        Are you happier now?

      • "1 Year Manufacturer's Warranty"
Sure, if you fly to China.

        • May be you ship to them and they shop to China.

    • Different model… 3G and 4G don't even work here, only 2G does lol…

  • Got my K3 from GearBest this arvo after ordering it Thurs, using the (from memory) $8-ish DHL express delivery (think they were advertising discounted or half-price DHL express delivery at the time) so, happy with delivery time then. The Lenovo seal on the box was not intact but I am presuming they preconfigured some settings. Did not come in any sort of protective packaging (padded bag etc) so that's not so good but I can't see any damage arising from this.

    • Any first impressions so far?

      • +2

Minimal sorry. Can't get video streaming on some sites, and the handful I tried (that worked) on youtube were just horrible. It is stacked with bloatware that (after reading a bit on whirlpool) will not go away or stop running. Apparently some guy even disabled some by rooting, and it still came back. There is no cyanogen support for it, and I'm still too new at this to try anything else just yet.

Photo's looked fine but I took them inside on nightshift, and image stabilisation seems to be an issue. Screen is nice and big, and haven't had any trouble with lagging aps or functions.

So- lots of bloatware that may be difficult to remove, and the video player it came loaded with is no good. Also- and I'm assuming it is the going from 4.2.2 to Lollipop, I don't like how it renders web pages. There is still a fair bit of Chinese language with some functions.

Am happy with it so far, and look forward to getting more out of it after a root and rom.

        • +1

If you're rooted you can delete the apks. No way they can come back then (until next update).

        • @PainToad: Cheers, that's promising.

        • +2

Very tempted to switch from Zenfone for app capability but all the mucking around you need to do to get this phone working well sounds like a pain. Hopefully someone is working on a cyanogen

  • Yep, mine has arrived today as well…

    • +1

Are you having issues with video playback or streaming video? Mine is atrocious in regards to this atm. Youtube looked woeful and other streaming sites would not even load. Was the seal on yours open also?
Interested to hear any thoughts/tips so far.

      • +1

There seems to be an issue with YouTube in current firmware. It sort of freezes upon launch on my device. To get around that I installed Viral (pro):
        https://play.google.com/store/search?q=viral%20pro&c=apps&hl…

Haven't fiddled too much with streaming services yet but the above does seem to work ok as an alternative, at least for now until better/tested ROMs become available.

        • Beauty- will give it a go. My youtube launches ok but it is literally unwatchable, it's this pixellated mess and that's on wifi. I avoided using any of the bloatware it wanted me to, could this be the reason? I also can't use mobile internet, again I presume it's because I cancel any of the bloatware apps it keeps trying to get me to accept/agree with the terms etc.

        • @COR80: nvm- tried firefox on it, and the streaming video was just fine. Must be just the hopeless browser and player it is pre-loaded with.

  • Tinydeal is now selling these for $AUD246.96 delivered, so this GearBest option was a good saving.

    • Still USD$159.99

  • +1

Mine (yellow) is still being processed after a week and a half. Not in a hurry though.

  • Anybody ordered with register post got shipped yet?

  • Still waiting…

  • Still waiting on my order from 14 May to be shipped!

    • Still waiting for my orders to be fulfilled as well (I selected TOLL/registered postage). Sent a support ticket to GB and just got the reply:

We are sorry for the inconvenience that has been caused.

We has just got the item from the manufacture.
We have to do a little test first to ensure that the quality of the item is qualified.

Usually it takes 3-5 working days to test it.
We will ship your order as soon as the test is finished.

If you have further questions, please feel free to submit a new ticket.
Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.

  • Mine was shipped
08-06-2015 Despatched to overseas (Country code: AU)

    • Registered post? or DHL?

      • I think I chose Singapore Post (as I remember, we had 3 options: normal post /free/, Singapore post /free/, and DHL /not for OZB people/)

    • Same status and date as yours

  • Anyone that's got one and is on Virgin Mobile?
I can't seem to set the right APN settings to enable mobile data (4G or otherwise)

Ordered mine May 28, still not shipped.

    • +2

Try this ([email protected]), I had been in contact with a rep from GearBest re: my K3 on this email, and he sorted it out.

      • +1

Or there is a rep on ozbargain, just message gearbest.

        • Just sent a message to gearbest on ozbargain so hope they can help. Just geting told by Gearbest CS that its about to ship just wait 3-5 more days but it never dose & its been a month now. :(

        • +3

          @Cyzar:

Same here, still waiting…if no dispatch emails by Wednesday morning I am requesting my money back. This is beyond a joke now…

        • +1

I agree ,we shouldnt be fooled like this… cant beleive they make us wait with no status updates …

Can we all organise a walk out - ask for refund. I think luckily I paid through paypal.

I am happy to ask on Wednesday as suggested here.

Let them learn a good lesson - dont ever fool Aussies…

        • +1

          @scotty34:

Mine got shipped last week by Sing post still waiting.

          Ordered on 30May.

        • +2

@superforever: Thanks for the feedback mate…great you will get it soon…

But this gearbest practice is so annoying…

I just dont understand what mental satisfaction they get out of showing "in stock" then fooling people into buying it

Its all about how to make money fast without spending a dime…the new world order..

        • +2

          @scotty34:

Can OZB just black list them? It's both fair and helpful for the community.

  • +1

They are an awful company to deal with, order from gearbest and expect the below:

25/05/2015 - Order placed (Expedited/DHL with shipping insurance). Original order showed 1-3 days dispatch time

28/05/15 - Live chat: Told order will be dispatched same day

29/05/15 - Live chat: Told order is delayed for 1-3 days

01/06/15 - Ticket opened: Told again delayed for an additional 1-3 days

05/06/15 - Part order shipped: No phone included

05/06/15 - Ticket opened: Told phone further delayed by 3-5 days

15/06/15 - Ticket opened: No reply.

So I'm now at day 22 and still the phone hasn't been shipped.

    • Update: I opened a paypal dispute, they are now claiming the phone was shipped to me. Luckily for me their shipper in Singapore completed a packing slip without the phone and their support agent on 05/06/15 confirmed to me that it didn't ship. They are extremely dodgy. Avoid at all costs.

      • You ordered on 25/5/15 still within 45 days, can you open one?

        • Yeah, I mean I already did and as part of the dispute they've claimed they already shipped the phone as part of the package on 05/06/15.

        • @BrutusB:

I mean paypal allowed you to do that with 45 days?

        • @superforever:
Yep, just went direct to the dispute center and filled in the details.

  • My dashcam even they posted the photo of the parcel, AusPost only said initiated. Seem like they still hasn't send it to post office.

When tracking my item, what does 'initiated' mean?
The tracking status 'initiated' means that the sender has entered shipping information into our online system, and either:

    a) the pickup has not yet been recorded in our tracking system, OR

    b) Australia Post has not yet received the item from the sender

Pickup information is usually confirmed within 24 hours.

    • If you picked Singpost/Auspost, don't expect any tracking details except for the initial entry into the system (information received). It will arrive in about 3-4 weeks in my experience…

  • MOD EDITED. This is exactly what I warned about, unfortunately seems you guys going through the same pain. You guys better raise paypal disputes as they take time to resolve the issues. Paypal disputes will be much better rather dealing with GB's customer service

    • No need to try and continually re-ignite a week old dispute with another member please, they can no longer reply in this thread regardless. You can make your point without the reference to that member. Thanks

      • Hi MOD, still this is an active thread and I don't get why I can't highlight my point to a member when time has proved it clearly. In my opinion modifying my comment is unfair as its my right to express my idea and I didn't 'attack' anyone!

        • You are attempting to reignite an argument with a member who can't even reply in this thread as I mentioned. It is pointless and continually referencing and trying to spark a reaction from a member is a form of trolling. Should you wish to continue this further contact us via twam. Otherwise please keep the comments directed towards Gearbest. Thanks

  • Do we need to do something about gearbest?

    • You may like to read through and also add to this discussion thread, hopefully the Gearbest rep can reply there also as they have previously.

      Thanks

      • +1

Wow, thank you for posting this thread - after reading through it I don't think I would ever want to deal with them seems most people either asked for refunds after 2 months or received the product after 3 months.

  • Seem like singpost didn't update the status, hopefully it is really on the way.

    http://forums.getpebble.com/discussion/7037/received-trackin…

    • After contacting GearBest via OZB my k3-note has now been despatched with singpost but not tracking info yet. I also hope it is really on the way!.

      • As somebody mentioned in the G1W-C's thread, Singpost never update after initiated.

  • +1

I am going to cancel the order…paypal dispute…

I dont ever want to deal with unethical business.. ..Oh cant even imagine what will happen if after 4 days the k3 wont turn on…"oh yea I got Warranty" ..yea right..yes we got a paper but no support .

The phone I have now died just a day after the warranty expired but the customer service guys talked to the manager and they replaced it with a brand new phone…thats real people….

I would rather pay bit more and help an honest guy to grow his business…

    Good bye Mr.Gearbest….

    • I actually requested to cancel and refund my orders 2 nights ago, no reply since. Paypal dispute started…

  • Mine just arrived today. Brand new unopened box
    Seems fine

    • Hi can i ask what courier did you choose? and when you order it?

      • Ordered about 8 hrs after this deal got posted.
I choose the free delivery option. Got dropped off by Aust Post

        • Looking at the bag. It appears to be sent through Singapore Post

oh they included an AU power plug adapter thingo that was outside the box..
Quite happy.. Hopefully the phone lasts

        • Ordered about 8 hrs after this deal got posted.

I ordered a few days later, hopefully should arrive soon.

So your tracking status didn't change from initiated, right?

Around 3 weeks to receive it I would say it is reasonable, around the same from Banggood.

I think the big problem from them is their "in stock" status. They didn't ship directly from their China warehouse to customer that is why have to wait that long before status changed to "Shipped".

        • +1

          @superforever:

Yer tracking was never updated from initiated

        • @Roary: notnfor me :(

        • @Roary: not for me :(
          Oh mine was open too

        • @spy:

As I remember some said gearbest needs to open it up to check before they post.

May be they flashed the "International" ROM before they ship.

    • Dose it have google play installed? I thought they had to open them to install it.

      • Yes its installed.
Pretty confident they didn't install it.

When I first turned it on it had to go through all initializing and setting language etc
Battery was seperate.. I dont think its ever been switched on.

        • Would you please go to settings, about and see what ROM installed?

        • @superforever:

          Build number V1BEUI_V2.5_1511_5.444.1_ST_K50-T5

          Android version 5.0

        • @Roary:

          Is it already rooted?

        • @superforever:

Doubt it.. how can you tell?

  • i paid extra for the "faster" delivery option. apparently its been dispatched almost 2 weeks go. ive asked for refund on the delivery, no reply. i wouldnt shop from gearbest again unless its those $1 junk i dont need

  • Arrived by snail mail.

  • Mine arrived today, it seems to be good for a cheap phone.
