I was there customer for over 4 months. Everything else seemed ok but there is definitely some issue with their data calculator.. Charged me for 7.5GB with total $120 bill. I am with vodafone with same usage and no extra data required over 3GB.

    • hmm was considering joining until i saw this… did you ever resolve ? or you paid $120?

      • +2

I have been with them for 2-3 months i find the data calculator to be pretty spot on and very very quick update. Way better than liveconnected which used to take 1-2 days
right now my android reports 196mb where spintel reports 195mb

    • +1

How are you with Vodafone with same usage? There's no such thing as same usage.

    • I've been with them for 4 months with 500mb as I am mostly on wifi at work or at home. As far as I can see the data calculator appears accurate enough based on my iphone usage stats.

  • Are international sms included?

    • $0.35
      per SMS

    • No and you have to drill down into usage to see them. Same with international calls.

would I be charged anything before I receive and activate it or would they charge the monthly bill when they process this?

  • Just hardly seein how any activation could be worth 25, realistically it ain't normal.
    (Sympathies reps)

also I mean Voda prices out [3 x $12] w 35 to have more of everything (ongoing

    minor MVNO vaya replaced [3 x $7]= 21 with superior Low end-value. (X3 more)

Wat was obtainable here that is not elsewhere, but apart from cheap support ?

  • DO NOT USE SPINTEL !!! They F#ck3d me on a Home Phone/Broadband bundle…

    • Really? We've been connected on a business bundle for nearly 3 years.

In saying that, QLD has had a lot of ADSL faults and outages (as in 5+) in the last 3 months, throwing us off the net for a day or 2 at a time. Each time it's blamed on Telstra. The phone has gone crackly a few times also apparently due to provisioned codes being automatically removed by mistake by their system. But a $69.95 grandfathered Unlimited ADSL + home phone in a Zone 3 Regional area? Find me better ;p

      • I guess that I will have to elaborate for everybody's benefit :(
QLD would get a good ping because they use Telstra (for country broadband) but they told me that their data goes through servers over East (QLD I think).

Other people's opinion's link here first (NOT ONE GOOD REVIEW !!!): http://www.ozbroadbandreview.com/company.php?id=45

I signed up with Spintel when I moved to Country WA (can't win 'em all lol).
Off-Peak had many drop outs and was all but unusable for anything but browsing.
Ping times for Battlefield 4 were crap at virtually all times (MASSIVE FAIL !!!) :(
After two or three weeks they finally admitted that they had over subscribed people.
They have the WORST service that I have ever seen and I am NOT young (just experienced) :p
There is so much wrong with their Service/Technical Support that I will not even bother to go there.
I have also worked in the computer industry for many many years and was able identify their technical support lies very quickly.
I also had the same issue with iPrimus before Spintel (Telstra also) and Telstra could NOT fix either issue…

I started a Service job with Spintel on about 10th October 2014 and did NOT come to a final agreement and pay them (reluctantly) till 9th March 2015. HINT: I eventually had to ring them from three different numbers (Home Phone and 2 x Mobiles) at the same time constantly for about a week or two and yell at them down the phone to do something (ie Cancel my Account or get a realistic Cancellation Fee).

I eventually went with Telstra and have had GREAT speeds from day one (compared to iPrumus/Spintel).

Spintel = WORST SERVICE EVER !!!

This deal is for mobile. It maybe the same company but your broadband experience is irrelevant.

        • +1

Whirlpool reviews have bad feedback on land line & broadband too, but Spintel is good for Mobile.

        • I still disagree, but hope your feedback is useful to someone.

        • @krouton24:

The gist of my argument is: Spintel = WORST SERVICE EVER !!!
I will dis them every chance that I can get.
Bad Service/Support is generic to Mobile and Broadband if it is the same company.
I just thought that I would let all in on the pain that they put me through.

So, get your cheap Spintel mobile and pray that nothing goes wrong.
I hope that you get crappy service and can dis them too one day :)
YES, I did neg your comment if you were wondering !!! Feel free to respond in kind.

Try get this video or Service/Support with Spintel (Waiting Waiting Waiting Sleeping)…lol

Spintel = WORST SERVICE EVER !!!

        • @meniac: Oh Christ getting hysterical. Bad customer service with low cost ISPs is pretty much standard. A TPG, Dodo, ClubTelco etc customer will tell you this.

My point still stands, find me better than $69.95/m for unlimited adsl2 + line rental with unlimited calls in a zone 3 regional area. You get what you pay for, and for us that's just fine.

  • I've used them before, however, Spintel isn't competitive anymore with all the discounts offered by the main telcos.

The only advantage to their plans' structure is the bumping, which truly separate Spintel from other MVNO.

    • It is their structure bumping that keeps them competitive for me and my usage (minimal with the odd burst here and there). It all comes down to usage preferences really.

  • +1

would the best method be to just choose Small for everything and then let it adjust to your usage? There is no disadvantage doing it that way right?

    • That's what I do :) Just note that once they bump you to the next tier it's a permanent switch unless you override it (e.g. if you had an unusually high data usage one month and got bumped to the 2.5gb option, you would remain in the 2.5gb plan from that point onwards UNLESS you went on to their site and selected the "change plan" option). This isn't overly inconvenient but it's important to remember if you don't want to keep getting charged more. Also note that the change you select is only applied to the following month so you should change it back to the option you want to be charged for next month as soon as you get bumped

      • Better change on the last day. Because you are allowed to change once.

        • That's true, you could still get bumped in the phone or text category afterwards

      • Ohh right I didn't realise it just stayed at that level, I thought it always dropped back down…good to know! thanks for that :)

  • I put an order through start of last month. Have called them twice and emailed. I keep getting the same answer, its in progress. I even emailed to cancel my order as its been 4 weeks but got no reply. I wanted to give them a go but sounds like they are too busy and were expecting all this attention.
