  • Does the power bank take protected or unprotected 18650

$1.95 in that listing. $1 is for the option of data cable.
shits me how ebay allows this options type listing.

You're right! I was sucked in by the title. Heres another one that is cheaper ($1.29)

      • Is there a chrome addon or something to get rid of the listings where they do that? I can't stand it either.

can put filter on value 1.01 up
          sort of filters the rubbish.

I've reported eBay ads for deliberately misleading, or falsely advertising their prices, by exploiting that feature. In Australia, they should be advertising their highest price in the eBay search list to comply with trade practices.

$1.29 for blue, $1.37 for others.

Edit: Is there a way to test the true capacity of a battery? The last rechargeables I bought from China were dead with about 3 hours of Wii controller use and I strongly suspect they weren't the printed capacity.

These things any good or is it just too cheap?

  • Is this something I could tinker with to make a motion activated sprinkler to stop cats pooping on my veggies?

Edit: ICStation, I think you need to bring down your price. It can be found on eBay for $3.59 with an antenna extension.

Love your translators re the ESP8266:

A low price, only to earn a small profit base, hope that this will bring more rapid development of animal networking
Two powerful internal ran LWIP agreement
supports three modes: AP, STA, AP + STA coexistence mode
perfect simple and efficient AT commands, allowing you to develop more simple.

Animal networking, huh? LWIP agreement, chuckle.

Actually I'm tempted by this one, I read a description of it in Silicon Chip in the library. One caveat is that the serial levels are TTL, not the old school +/-12V. In case you are wondering, the ESP8266 allows you to connect your microcontroller to a WiFi AP.

    • Yeah I had a laugh at the 'animal networking'… Now even my dog and cat will have an IP address!

  • would this be any good if pair with eneloop?

    • No, it requires a 3.7V battery.

  • Be careful with the powerbank.

I had 4 of these and one was smoking when my daughter tried to charge her NDS :(

    • I have two of these and they are ticking when charged! Like little time bombs.

      • throw it away - I did
