Bose Soundlink Mini Bluetooth SERIES 2 | $269 (Was $299) @ Sydney Hi-Fi

60

Was shopping around online yesterday for the series 1 version till I came across this. Didn't know a series 2 was released and couldn't seem to find it at any other retail site just yet.

Normal price says it's $299 so you save $30.

I was doing my own investigation today. Apparently the battery hours is improved and the newer version allows charging via micro USB port.

But the improvement doesn't justify the price difference. Currently if you buy at DJ online it's only $157 after Amex and cash rewards.

    • Is that for the first gen? =O

    • I think it does, charging via USB is is is sooooo convenient. Especially it is portable and the extra charger weight and size bulks it.

    • unfortunately no stock at djs anymore though (and its listed as 209 not 199 anymore either)

Yep, but at 209, it comes down to 157 when combine it with AMEX and cash rewards.

Although out of stock for delivery, apparently you can still get it as click and collect for that price (if your local stores have stock).

I think the microUSB charging is a hugee improvement. I've got the Sony SRS-X3 which can be charged via microUSB, and not only does it simplify the cable situation with my other devices, but I can charge it using my Xiaomi 16,000 powerbank which means it can last for days.

Nevertheless, $269 is a bit much and I'm more than happy with the Sony X3 for $80. To my ears, the X3 sounds just as good (if not better) than the Soundlink mini.

      • Same boat as you. Got the X3 during a sale at JB. Does the job. :)

Best feature is NFC tap to connect.

But yea, picked up this soundlink mini 2 as a gift for someone who I know did want it and nothing else. >_>

  • Also the rrp for 2nd gen went up by $50. I believe it's to do with weaker au dollars as price in U.S. is still the same as the first gen.

This is an exception though. The soundlink mini kicks ass.

i initially read that as "2 for $269" which sounds like a much better deal :p

    • Glad to know i'm not the only one

    UE BOOM. that is all.

    • Bloated bass. All you get.

  • So it's here for $269 with FREE SHIPPING:

Save $15 on shipping which is what was posted here.

  • Series 2 and still no apt x support?

Pretty amazing people are still comparing the UE boom and soundlink mini. 1 has no bass, 1 has bloated bass. Both lack features of modern bt speakers and both are outdated.

$269 opens up many many options for bt speakers and there are heaps out there. Do yourself a favour and explore them.

My picks sounblaster roar, denon envaya mini and the harmon kardon onyx studio.
