  • It's not a daily or flash so don't buy it just yet.

Never buy a game during Steam sales unless it is a daily deal, flash deal, community deal or the last day of the sale. Follow this flow chart and you'll be right, https://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/ysnJ4LN9PkQ7nVhoF2ugKbzPjGe…

    • Not such a big deal anymore since you can buy it now then refund and rebuy it when it goes on sale for cheaper.

I do question whether it's worth posting deals for individual games though…

      • Yeah, refunds to make it a bit less of an issue. It all depends on if you can wait a few days for it to have a real sale, if not, you'll have to jump through some hoops later on to get the cheaper price (if it does get cheaper).

The price of this game has never dropped. First time it has been on sale on Steam since release.

Even though that is the case, it is good practice to wait it out in Steam sales. You could get it on the first day of the sales for 20% off and then go through Steam Support to refund the difference if the game were to get a larger discount (might end up 33% or even 50% off at some stage these sales), or you could wait for it to go on a special sale (daily, flash, community, etc) where it is guaranteed to be the lowest price for this sale.
If it doesn't go on a special sale by the last day, you still get the 20% off that you would have gotten on the first day, no harm done.

For instance, I'm after the Myst series. Right now they are 50% off, and that's a good deal, but they might go for 70% off tomorrow for all I know. I probably wont even be able to play any of the games I buy this sale until it is over, so waiting for the last day to buy thins means nothing.

TL;DR Unless you have to play it RIGHT NOW, it's much easier to wait it out.

As much as I agree that it's better to wait during the Steam sales, does this really deserve a neg? I guess you could say it's likely to be discounted more, but that's a speculation. I personally don't think it's neg worthy. Though yes, you should definitely wait for it to go on daily, community, flash, or last day of the sale. It's not like they are going to remove the discount during the steam sale and price is only going to go down from here if it goes on any of the deals.

      • Probably should have reported for dupe instead of neg (should be part of the main steam post).

  • Not a deal, Steam Sale started today so there are 1000's of games on sale now. This is not a daily/flash/community deal so not noteworthy compared to any of the others.
