  • Heaps of posts in forums on denim update breaking the GPS. Thought of buying an extra one for GPS…..perhaps not or don't upgrade.

the microsoft music is really good playing all current hit music without ads.

  • I checked out couple of stores and they all have this phone for $59. Can someone advise when does this deal start?

  • Do you need to keep the sim active for longer than 2 days to get the netflix? It says it comes with free 2 days credit but from what I have read it can take up to 2 weeks to get the netflix code via sms. I don't plan to keep the sim so don't want to have to add credit to make sure its still alive. Thanks

  • Checked here in Sydney CBD and it is still marked at $59 :-)

  • The sale start date must be written on this Dick Smith catalogue some where. Any one got this catalogue might be able to look it up?.

  • Dick Smith Macaquarie Park, NSW refused to give it for $29.. price still $59 in-store. Wants to see complete terms and conditions on the ad before he'll adjust the price.

    • Yes because the sale hasn't started yet. Seems no one here seems to even know when it actually starts. As I said it must be listed on this catalogue some where. And it's probably a sale that isn't supposed to be public knowledge yet.

Hopefully the catelogue is not on the bin when I get home tonight, but I'll update regardless.

I got this catelogue yesterday night in Beecboro area in WA… just incase anybody can beat me to the update.

FYI. There's no stock in the Perth city and from what the guy told me in the theres not much stock in WA. He did say Baldivis had lots.

        • road trip to Baldivis it is ;)

    • Do you mean Optus Nokia 530?.

      • Try this guy if you have a Telstra locked 530 here
My Telstra locked 530 was unlocked by another guy who currently does not have any listing for unlocking.

  • Can anyone advise if it is simply a matter of activating the SIM card to be able to claim the Netflix?
    - can I get rid of the phone.
    - and I don't need to add credit to the prepaid sim?
    Thanks :-)

Did you read the FAQ ?

      • Activate the included SIM by 5 Jul 2015.
      • Within 14 days you'll receive a link via email, SMS or letter to claim your voucher.
      • Voucher claim link is valid for 14 days.
      • Vouchers expire midday 30 Sep 2015.

It would be smart to keep the service active at least until you get the voucher link SMS. You don't need to keep the phone, you could pop the SIM into a different phone.

      • The sim only comes with 2 days credit, will you be able to receive a sms without recharging? Thanks

        • If you don't want to keep the service, just activate the SIM on the 'My Prepaid Daily Plus' plan. That gives you $4 credit (good for 500MB data and unlimited calls/SMS each day for any two days (doesn't have to be consecutive) within six months; or 1GB data and unlimited calls/SMS for one day within six months).

You'll still get inbound calls and SMS, for as long as the service is active.

        • @Thrift: Thanks!

        • I activated last night, got the Netflix voucher claim SMS tonight - so a 24 hour turn around.

Just picked up 2 from Kmart Midland WA thanks to this deal

Heaps of stock both in the cabinet and behind the counter!

  • Already have 2 (for kids) and bought 2 more today as GPS.

  • Are people activating these online or via phone? - I've activated one of these (kmart deal) and two wireless broadband dongles online & haven't received codes for any of them, only activation emails… Two weeks have passed on all of them & am now have to chase each one of them up by phone. ;'(

    • Online, but it's activation, not unlocking.

Or do you mean Netflix codes?

    • Still haven't received my Netflix codes either. Do they come by sms? Do you need to have added credit to the phone plan to receive sms's from Optus?

      • Activate the SIM on a prepaid plan (eg, $2 daily plan - you'll get $4 credit). You don't need to use any credit, or add credit.
14, 24, or anytime up to 14 days, you should get an SMS with a link to an Optus page that gives you the Netflix code.

        • For 3 seperate SIM cards I've activated (all online), I didn't receive any codes. After getting ringing up to see what the hold up was, I've received 1 of the three codes 48 hours later. (They said to wait 24-48 hours after I rang them, which was 2 weeks after activation). Will need to ring up again today… Spending a LOT of time on the phone and am seriously wondering if it's been worth the trouble to be honest… :-(

        • @Winston1: I activated by phone, got the SMS 24 hours later, and been watching Netflix :)

  • Well at least even if the local Dick Smith store is sold out the catalogue states that a raincheck is possible.

    • Just go to Kmart if you can :)

      • I suppose if the Kmart store even still has it in stock. I'm hopefully going there tomorrow. This Dick Smith sale also starts tomorrow. Besides as i said Dick Smith will do a raincheck on the Lumia 530 even if temporarily out of stock so nothing to worry about.

  • Does anyone in Perth just want the phone and don't care about the netflix?

    • yeah pretty much. i'm only after the amazeballs GPS functionality.

btw. i keep wanting to pick up that 10c in your profile pick. damn you!

  • Oh Cmon, I cant find this catalogue advertisement online with Lasoo or anywhere, waited till after 2am, website says only home delivery go to checkout still says $59, I had already rung a few Kmarts, Can anyone verify this deal as need to get one as already passed the Lumia 532 onto my friend as I knew I could get THIS DEAL somewhere somehow HELP, does anyone know where I can get this Lumia 530 somewhere in the Blacktown area be it Kmart or Dick Smith PLEASE

    • I got the DSE catalogue yesterday with the $29 Lumia 530 advertised, it said the sale starts today (Thursday) and ends Sunday.

      • did you get the catalogue in Sydney or another state, can't get my head round website saying home delivery only not in store and still $59, oh well will ring my local first thing in the morning see if bait and switch, the Woolies deal for the 532 rang around Blacktown 4 out of 5 stores ordered them but never received them for sale, got one for my friend but none for me drat it. Thanks for the reply

        • Yup, suburban Sydney. I got one for $29 from my local Kmart on Monday, but they only had 2 in stock.

They might not have the cheap price on the website, it's often not consistent between the website, eBay store and catalogue offers.

  • DSE website has updated, reducing the price to $29 + $7.95 shipping, valid till 21 June.

  • Shipping kills the deal. Will go to store and see if they can match the price.

    • I think it will be scanning as $29 at the cash register so you should be right.

  • Plenty of stock at the DSE Rockhampton store. Kmart Rockhampton still had one left in display cabinet after i just bought mine there.

  • Picked up one from DS Geroge street during lunch break.

  • Could we price match this at office works?

      • Good on Officeworks. I see that Harvey Norman still wants $48 for it. Who'd buy that from HN when you can buy it from Dick Smith, Officeworks or Kmart for $29.

I think get serious Harvey Norman charging $19 more than the competitors for exactly the same phone.

  • Chatswood still showing for $52 but selling for $29.

  • There's a few at the Perth city store in WA, just picked one up!

It's showing at $79 but scans at $29.

  • Does it take an Amaysim sim card? or is it locked only to Optus?

    • It does take an amaysim sim card. I use amaysim on my Optus Nokia Lumia 530 phone that i bought from Kmart for $29. These phones are locked to the Optus mobile phone network (not locked to Optus itself but the mobile network) and amaysim uses a rebranded Optus sim card (configured for amaysim) on the Optus mobile network. Works just fine.

So if you plan to use an amaysim sim card with these phones it means no network unlocking needed. That would be good news for you.

      • Thanks, that suits very well then.

  • Anyone get it unlocked without having to go through Optus?

    • I'm waiting on an unlock code i bought for $25 from http://unlockmymobile.net.au but it's been since last Thursday afternoon and now being 3 business days later and i'm still waiting to hear any thing back.

    • Go through optus using online chat, be nice and you will get unlock code.

  • Got mine unlocked from Optus. I have a postpaid plan with them so no questions were asked.

Also got my Netflix code. When I redeemed the code it said I got $35.9 credit. Does that mean I get almost 4 months free Netflix?

    • Probably $35.97 credit, equivalent to 3 months of the $11.99 plan

      • Ohh ok. I am currently on $8.99 plan. May be I will get the $11.99 plan for the next 3 months.

  • Got both my phones unlocked. The first one managed to unlock out of the box using online and the second after online chat. Sweet. I also have 2 more 530s from $19 bigw deal as GPS.

  • Anyone figured out a way to unlock this yet?

Bought a few to take to Egypt to give out as gifts when this deal was posted. I assumed it would be easy to unlock but it hasn't been. I leave on the 8th of August, I might have to go out and buy prepaid unlocked phones but I don't know what's best under the $70ish mark, I need 4 or 5 of them..

$80 to unlock these phones wouldn't be worth it I would rather buy better phones running Android
