Seems like a good deal for kid's birthday parties

    • +1

Behind the kitchen scene where they play soccer chicken.

      • +3

So that's why my popcorn chicken tastes great, keep it up guys!!

    • Can my child attend with me for the tour?
Unfortunately children under the age of 16 cannot attend the tour for safety reasons.

      • +1

Lol you answered your own question?

        • -1

Unfortunately children under the age of 16 cannot attend the tour for safety reasons.

Yet they can still work there ???

        • +1

Once they have completed the required training, yes.

          Ex-KFC employee.

  • +1

    Quick, hide the pigeons!

    • +1

Pigeon is a $25 dish at Chinese restaurants.

Not sure how I'd feel if KFC served it. Worth a try at least lol

  • +3

It's great that they give you freshly prepared chicken…. as opposed to what you normally pay for.

    • +2

Anyone who downvoted this comment has never eaten at the KFC inside Crown complex Melbourne.
(The Swanston street one always appears to be fresh).

I note that you can't book at this one, so I'm doubtful they are capable of making fresh KFC at the franchise.

      • Let's be honest, while some KFC's are better than others, you are always at the risk of 'not fresh' chicken or chips.

"This is the register, this is the vat, this is the freezer, this is the salt, BYE"

    • Hello free food.

  • +1

There's only 1 store in WA, and it's out in the sticks (Ellenbrook). I wonder if the other stores are all booked out or if they seriously only have 1 store available as part of the offer?

    • there's also Rockingham Beach, Kwinana and Armadale

    • +2

For a second I thought you meant there was only one KFC store in WA, lol.

      • +1

Oh C'mon, we might be Wait Awhile but KFC have been here for longer than I have (and I was born here)

        :)

  • +4

Ozbargain Xmas in July / American Independence day meet-up ?

  • Hey bonezAU would you take a bribe to change that photo?

    • Yes - my request would be lots of grog (you won't have any problems with that) and I'll also need a tax payer funded Holden Commodore to be used this weekend (I have a mates wedding to go to)

      Cheers

      • +1

Commodore? gee, your standards are slipping Caprice or gtfo :p

        • +1

When I say Commodore, I automatically expect the highest model on offer - it is taxpayer funded after all. You can't simply give me a bog standard model, I will just not accept it.

        • @bonezAU:

How about a sherbie in a brown paper bag left in post restante at vic park post office?

        • @grog:

Any chance of something a bit closer to Kings Park? That's where the wedding is.

  • Always on Saturday, I'm never available. :/

    • Well, I have better things to do with my saturday.

    • Would have been better on a Sunday so one could use their Opal card $2.50 limit (for those of us that don't normally use public transport). Then one could make a field trip to Bankstown South (one of the few stores still with "tour" availability),

  • +1

Selected stores only , not every store , right ? ( As from KFC website )

    • Yep. Booked at Gladesville NSW myself :D

  • -4

Surely you lot have better things to do?

    • +1

Are you lost? Did you mean to go to a different website?

      • Nope not lost, serious question, surely there is something else better to do than go to a kfc open day,

        • it's free food. ozbargainers love free food; pretty self-explanatory. obviously if there aren't any participating KFCs nearby then it won't be worth your while.

tell us what's better than getting free KFC then?

        • Ring the store, hey mate the family feast i ordered last night was awful etc, etc etc boom, email you a voucher for free family meal.@tdw:

        • @Chef-Johnson: oh right, resort to fraud to get free food. how genius why didn't i think of that

    • someone sure had way too many chocolate salty balls

  • +1 really love to see how they prepare from fresh chicken to this fried as i firmly believe mostly there chicken is pre-marinated and crumbed and what KFC outlets do is simply open the box and through the chicken in the big fryers.

    • +6

its actaully not, its breaded in the store.

      • Some items like the Zinger Burger are pre-marinated prior to arriving. Possibly the same with Hot n Spicy chicken?

        • +1

the spicey stuff is pre-marinated in whatever it is, but its all fresh chicken not frozen and its breaded in store.

        • @tuzii:
Correct. Sorry, I forgot to add that. ;-)

The other thing people may not know is that the chicken pieces are usually cracked (prior to coating) to prevent any discolouration in the cooking process.
The other day I saw the store manager doing the breading.

  • +1

Last time I went I got paid $50 for survey which was a better deal. But guess free is free.

  • any older ppl do this (without kids) ? ;)

    • Hell yes, I'm taking the kids with me! Father Of The Year…..in the bag!

  • +1

People should tell those homeless people to rock up and those bums around the SYD CBD.
Help them out get free KFC

    • +1

KFCs do not need to smell any worse, thank you very much!

  • SFC is better

  • Unfortunately, one of my nearest stores isn't working.

  • Can't seem to find any participating WA stores :(

    • +1

ellenbrook, rockingham beach, kwinana and Haynes

  • +5

Taking someone on a first date! What a catch I am.

    • +4

Nah you should take her to Maccas for a 30c cone. If she's still with you afterwards, definitely a keeper. Marry her else I will lol…girls are expensive these days

      • +4

Aren't they 50c now? Might be a stretch LOL

        +PLUS for making me laugh

  • Thanks OP, we're in!

  • Got in and after I went through checkout (2min. maybe), all others were gone as well, that was quick, looking forward to "grill the employees with our eyes" lol

  • -8

WTH how come sold out ? Are they limited to 5 per store?

  • -4

In a half-hour tour you'll be taken behind the scenes into our kitchens to see how we hand prepare our fresh chicken in our secret herbs & spices to create the food you love.

Good thing is they have plenty of buckets to throw up in.

    • +7

so joke. much original. very laugh.

  • I think SA stores are sold out now!

  • +2

Honestly I don't care how they are made.

come on show your bargain determination!

    • You must live out the back of Bourke…literally!

  • Thanks OP booked 2 tickets!

  • +1

Went two months ago. It was a great experience. I hope people who got tickets this time don't pull out at the last minute so others couldn't take their places. According to the restaurant manager at the session I went to, those people didn't even answer their mobiles or return calls. Very poor form.

    • +2

happened on my tour as well. if those twits had to pay a refundable deposit for their place they might not be so inconsiderate

  • +2

I'm taking my family there. Zoos aren't cheap, this is.

    • and both have hairy beasts.

  • -1

Seriously revoked? Hey it's 1 hour and everywhere was sold out! How can this be a deal?

    • store near me has all spots avail at 10, and half left @ 11

      • -4

Telling us which store would be more helpful, don't you think?

        • No. I was not encouraging people to travel to my area purely for the sake of a KFC tour, rather, it was to dispute @mooreshady's point that 'everywhere was sold out'.

  • +1

    winner winner chicken dinner!!!

  • I did the open kitchen event and had a meal just a few months ago at the Mackay store. Hopefully the manager doesn't recognise that I've come back for a second helping and kick me off the tour

  • And in other parts of the world, this happened…

  • all sold out where I live around Blacktown… grrrrrr

  • I know its pretty late, but something came up and I can't go to my session tomorrow.

I've got 2 tickets to the session at KFC Five Dock at 11am.

First person to comment wanting them gets them!

  • We here! Woot

    • "Register early to attend your preferred location and time."
Darn, it appears that my fear of commitment has backfired again. Fully booked near me.

    • Us too. Filled out forms. Still waiting.

      • Looks only half of our group turned up…

        • ugh, this shit again. they really do need to think about refundable deposits on bookings so time-wasters don't ruin it for those who are genuinely interested

        • @tdw:

I wonder if anyone will own up above that they didn't turn up

  • Hey just wanting to share that my 10am tour at Werrington KFC was fantastic!!!. Only 4 in our group, and Store manager Belinda was excellent, and the other 2 girls in our group were really friendly… And of course free lunch!!!! :-)

  • +1

Finished a session in Wantirna. They joined the 10am session with the 11am session because only one person turned up at 10am. So from a total of 16 people across the two sessions only 6 people turned up. Such a waste for people actually wanting to come.

  • Lol yeh 4 out of 8 for my session. Tour was great and free lunch!

  • Someone in our group had already done the tour before.and recently. They didn't mind. I'm happy with the way they cook the food. It was a good tour. I enjoyed it.
