        • hahaa, yeah.

  • Damn! Saw this in email.
Can I get that 25% refunded if I bought a pair of jeans last week?
Anyone tried? What's DJ policy on that?

    Editing my own post…
Bought it in store, and the extra sale is online only =(

    • I just tried, unless your online order hasn't already been shipped.
I am waiting for a phone call back from the manager because my purchases from last week have been packed and are ready for shipment. Fingers crossed, i want my 25% refund

      • Update. David Jones honored the 25% refund

    • can you return it in store then buy it again? Just say it didn't fit when you return it and purchase another one. Unsure their return/refund policy though.

      • check Pm
Edit, Nvm you have not enabled private messages Phobo

  • Most items out of stock but still showing up.

    • Yep you have to be quick to get your sizes as soon as you see its on sale.

Just a side note, store rep… I won't be shopping for clothes in DJ's any more. And a sale on things I wouldn't wear isn't interesting to me.

I visited the Sydney CBD store for the first time since Christmas (when it wasn't exciting either) yesterday, and found exactly a token FOUR BRANDS (DJ's house brand generic clothes, eve hunter eveningwear, sara casual/business-very-casual and a small amount of Nouvelle Woman older womens wear) in your Plus department, taking up less than half the floor space it used to and with no signage even indicating it was there. The Macquarie Centre store didn't even seem to have a Plus department when I was there a few weeks ago. Guess you don't want those who aren't fashionably thin in your store, even though you're segmenting yourself out of a significant portion of the Australian female population that has money to spend. I'll oblige by not returning.

When I posted a comment about this on my Facebook page yesterday, a couple other women posted that they don't bother shopping for clothes OR accessories in DJ's any longer. (At which point I realised, yes, that's true… a lot of the very cool designer fashion jewelry and hats DJ's used to sell disappeared a few years ago, too.) For an example of higher quality, durable, fashionable brands that I prefer to wear, check out the brands Lafayette 148, Marina Rinaldi, NYDJ and Ralph Lauren Woman in the US. Surprise, big chicks do want quality clothing and will spend money, though not with an additional Down Under markup tax, on fashionable clothing and even designer clothing that fits without being cut as flour sacks. The trick is that these clothes are already expensive and I'd pay 10% more than I'd pay buying mail order from the US, because it's worth it to have local try-on and service, but NOT 30% or 50% more. For my "good stuff", I tend to stick with the US brands now. I no longer wear Maggie T, because that brand has proven to be far too expensive for the lack of quality in the garments (buttons that come off shirtcuffs on the second wearing, hems that come undone or fray in the first 6 months are unacceptable on $300 blouses). And you used to carry Free Woman, which I like, but don't any more.

…nice rant. They're a business, of course their product lines are tailored to the majority of their customers.

      • At some point, it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. For example, a place that calls itself a department store but which only sells skate apparel and therefore begins to attract only attracts skaters as customers AS A RESULT because others find that they don't find usual department store goods there, could then be said to be tailoring its sales to a majority of its customers, while still misleading potential customers who don't know that, to believe that it's worth a look in, when it isn't.

An 8+ storey department store - by definition a place carrying general goods, not Forever 21 - having a plus size clothing section smaller than my living room is like Dick Smith selling only sodastream. DJ keeps crying poor, that customers don't spend money in their stores. I submit that it's because the people who have historically been their customers can't find anything worth buying there today.

        • What's wrong with that? A business should be free to define/change itself as it wishes and doesn't owe you anything.

Rather than complaining, why don't you take action and shop elsewhere. Or honestly, try and get down to a size that is more catered for… (no offence intended).

        • @oswade: I "tried" and succeeded after 6 months of less than 800 cal per day, and 75 minutes workout per day. The minute I went back to 1200 cal per day on the advice of a doctor who chided me for anemia and other nutritional issues, and stopped shorting the rest of my life to do the 75 minutes of workout per day, I immediately went back up. Metabolic issue. If my hobby was working out, rather than going to uni whilst having a more than full time job, I'd probably be smaller. But, you know… life. And still, a business that calls itself a department store out to cater for all, is my point. If they called themselves a "limited department store", it'd be different. It's like they're aiming to be the Aldi's limited-stock version of a department store. Not attractive from a fashion outlet. There's better pricing and selection, with not that bad a drop in quality over what DJ's is offering, at Target. If DJ's is going to go crying that no one's spending their money there (which they do cry about), they do need feedback that their lines are shite and that that's why.

DJ - most options available to see online, but would not add to the cart. Most Lacoste and Indi Kids options are out of stock.

  • Doubt they have anything good.

I was looking for a doona.

Herrington king wool 270 to 174 @ Dj on special now

Same doona at hn 199 (normal retail)

  • Waiting for the extra % off sale to be available in-store as well. There are a couple of clearance items that I want to get that are just store leftovers no longer shown on the site.

  • I keep getting this error:

Error: Sorry, an error has occurred while trying to retrieve the inventory status of this product

Grrrr! Even though it shows up as 'in stock' in the shopping cart after refreshing many times.

  • Don't forget the AMEX send $200 get $40 cashback deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/192897
Got $470 with of Diesel branded clothing for $170.

  • No matter what I try to add to the cart I keep getting the error:

"Error:The product you have selected cannot be purchased at this time."

Every. Single. Product. Even suits worth several hundred dollars.

Rep, what' going on? It's been like this since 10pm. Tried multiple browsers/internet connections etc?

    • That happens when the item is out of stock. even though it says in stock atm , the amount of stock does not refresh till the next day i believe.
I was able to purchase a few items last night no problem at all. I'm sorry that you couldn't.
When this happens i usually choose click and collect to see which actual store has the item in the correct size and call them directly to purchase over the phone and you can get it delivered for free if you have a DJs Amex. But i guess you cant do much after hours
