  • It's a shame, this was going for around $280 during that short lived 20% eBay code. I was going to post it but it expired.

Occasionally when DS have those $x off $xx codes it works out quite reasonably priced, especially if you don't want the eBay voucher.

They had this yesterday ($45) off

  • Wish we had one of those everyday dse codes now. I want to sell my slatebook for this.

  • Nice concept, but the screen is too small to use as a notebook for any extended time.

    • mini HDMI output, so with a monitor, keyboard and mouse (bluetooth) you've got a competent system. Got this setup myself, sufficient for work type stuff (Office, outlook etc…) with SideSync running my note 4 at the same time.

With the low power consumption, HDMI, bluetooth, and USB 3.0 input you could tape this to the back of a TV and make it s "Smart" TV. Price isnt far off those similar spec-ed chinese windows TV boxes, with the luxury of usb 3.0 and mobility as required

  • Is it true if i buy any laptop under $300 I get the money back from tax return?

    • Laptop purchases made for work purposes can be claimed as a tax deduction. Good thing here is you can claim the full $348, with the $50 credit separate.

but it is > 300, hence you need to depreciate over 3 years.
Get something < 300, and it is done with in 1 year.

    • +5

And you don't get all your money back, only reducing your taxable income by that amount so your only getting back the income tax on your purchase at your applicable tax rate.

  • Note new 2015 version unveiled yesterday.

  • This can run android emulator like bluestacks right?

Since it's a touch screen system you'll probably be able to run android apps properly too.

    • +2

wont be as smooth as native android. I run bluestacks on my surface pro, it's sluggish and eats a ton of resources, thats on an i5 ulv. Get an android if that's your main purpose.

      • I've heard that duOS works better than Bluestacks, but haven't tried it myself.
