Good morning all. As stated here, Specsavers was the other offer I wanted to post for the 1500th. Jack Hawks has been sensational to deal with, but he asked me to wait until Monday so he could be around to field questions. So pick what you like, add to cart and apply coupon tightarse1500. Jack has made the offer valid for 24 hours (but may extend at his discretion). Have a great day :)

Do you deliver to PO Box addresses? Couldn't find a FAQ or delivery info on the website. Or I'm blind.

  • Hi Jack, I'm new to the specsavers website so can you clarify one thing it saids "
$30.00 per box of 3" , is that 3 pairs of lenses or simply 3 contact lenses?

    • +5

Jack can confirm but usually it's a box of three lenses. Great if you're a triclops, not so great for regular humans.

    • +1

      Hi boozler

That's correct - it is just the 3 lenses per box as that will relate to the prescription for your left or right eye. So you'll need a minimum of 2 boxes that will last 3 months of those monthly contacts. If in any doubt whatsoever call your optom, or our customer service team on the number I noted above.

      All the best
      Jack

      TightJack - really doesn't work.

      • You'd have to squeeze it a bit, but I'm sure it would fit. ;)

  • They don't stock my preferred lenses so I have to use their BnM store. Great deal though.

  • +1

Thanks TA and Jack. Awesome deal!

Jack any chance you have plans to introduce 1 day True-eye 90 packs? It doesn't matter much when you have great deals like this but can save a few dollars at normal prices.

    • It's a fair point and can't really comment on the plans - but understand it is a customer preference to save with multipack deals.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

  • Yes! Finally no minimum spend. Trying to juggle around that $99 minimum that usually pops up is a pain. Thanks TA.

  • Do I need a prescription before ordering one and will I be able to claim the purchase from medibank provided I'm covered for eye care benefits?

  • thankyou Jack

Yes you need a prescription - but you dont need to show it (ie you take the risk if the prescription is not suitable). Yes check the list of healthfunds - BUPA definitely works.

    • Sorry what does that mean?

I know what my prescription is for contacts but I do not have a printed copy?

So how does that affect buying and claiming?

      • Hi SamR

If you have a prescription and know what you are ordering, then you are good to go. You can definitely order online with us and claim with your health fund using their online claiming portal. Tends to be a case of just entering a few details and they refund really quick.

        All the best
        Jack Hawks

  • Thanks TA !

Jack, do you have 1 Day Acuvue Define (Accent Style) contact lenses?

    • +1

      Hi kazi

I would acknowledge there are still products in the market we don't stock online and believe we are working towards getting a better range. It might be you can ask for this particular product in one of our stores - however the offer will not apply when buying over the counter.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • Thanks Jack

  • Will order it tonight as I don't have my prescription with me, hope the deal doesn't end until then!

    • +3

Plenty of time. Offer is good for at least 24 hours.

      • Put in my order last night. Ta, TA

  • Thanks for the deal, two pairs of acuvue dailies for 70

  • Hi store rep.

Hoping you can help…. I buy glasses from Spec Savers all the time… I have my prescription which has a +/- under the SPH and CYL columns… is this what I need to order contacts?

    • Hi ezza

Prescriptions for glasses and contacts lenses are different. You'll need to visit one of our stores for a FREE trial. I would encourage you to do this as they will explain everything you need to know and go through it step by step.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      http://www.specsavers.com.au/stores

      • Bugger is by the time i get to a store this deal will be expired (ie - 24hrs hours)

        • I keep telling myself to do the free trial, but I haven't got around to it. I should really do it since I can get a rebate for health insurance (instead of wasting it).

We'll just have to wait for the next offer. These 50% off with free delivery offers tend to happen every few months based on history.

  • Ta TA!

    Awesome "1500th" deal.

TA clearly has some great contacts!

    • +1

      heyoo!

  • Excellent deal!

  • Would be epic if we could get a similar deal in New Zealand ;)

    • I note I can't access Choicecheapies.co.nz which was the equivalent site over there run the good guys at Ozbargain. Anyone got news on that?
      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • You would need an account there I presume as they have separate login backgrounds.

        • This.

  • Hi Jack,

Any chance of getting stock of the Purevision 2 HD lenses?
    http://www.bausch.com.au/our-products/contact-lenses/lenses-…

Currently you guys only stock the original Purevision variant.

would be interested in placing an order of the 2 HD's if you can get them :)

    • Hi rysith,

There's a similar comment above - if it isn't in the store right now - I'm really there isn't much I can do. There's a bit of movement on the Purevision products at the moment so just keep your eye out for them in the store - and I'm sure there will be a deal in the future to take advantage of.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • No problems - thanks for the info

  • Switching from fortnightly to dailies, the base curve options are different..8.5 or 9. If i'm 8.8 in a fortnightly which one to choose?

    • +1

A question best answered by optometrist. Can you visit one today?

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • I can check my old packet tonight if there's sure to be stock left across the acuvue range?

    • I had exactly the same issue, with 8.8 - wasn't sure so I checked out with 9's. From knowledge it relates to the curve fit on your eye so I went with 9 because it was closer - i might be completely wrong

    • I went with 9. No issues here.

  • Thanks TA and Jack :)

  • Hi Op,

Can you claim this back on private health insurance?

    Cheers

    • I've never had a problem claiming online Specsavers order from my health fund, regardless of whether they are full price or discounted.

    • Yes you can.

I was able to claim my last one ($50 off $99 deal).

Btw I'm with HIF, better to call check with your health fund to make sure. Cheers

  • Very good deal, thanks.

  • +1

Thanks TA and Jack - $49 for two boxes, compared to $98 usually. Free shipping is awesome too, as it means I'll get more back from my health fund (shipping is excluded from rebate).

  • Thanks TA and Jack :)

Stocking 10 months worth now. But one question, what happened if my degree changes later on while I still have so many of stock?

    • It happens i have a couple of old boxes. I'm heading to optometrist today to update my script before i purchase more. Gov't gives free eye test every 3 years but opt recommends every 2. If you had one recently i doubt it will change much in 10 months unless you have an underlying eye condition.

  • Do you have contacts for Keratoconus suffers?

    • That is a specialty best dealt with in store. Have you had the condition checked out recently by an optometrist? I can confirm they are not currently sold through the online store.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

      • I recently have had CXL done and my Ophthalmologist doesn't want me to get fitted till next month, as the contact might disrupt the healing process.

  • I use the Dailies Total 1. Will these be available?

    • +1

      I haven't got a confirmed date yet… but possibly November. I know - that's a bit late.

      All the best
      Jack Hawks

  • Beautiful stuff. Loaded up on some more fortnightly accuvues which ought to see me through the rest of the football season, and perhaps even into the beginning of the cricket season.

    Thanks!

  • +1

Thank you TA and thank you Jack! I would love for the offer to be extended another 24 hours if possible, I needed to get my prescription checked (at my local Specsavers of course) and could only get an appointment for tomorrow morning
