LG WD14071SD6 10kg Front Load Washer $1198 + $30 Shipping or Free Pick up @ The Good Guys eBay

C20EXTRA

Hi all,

Have been eyeing this for some time. I can say that TGG has not increased the price of this unit for the sale.

FWIW the competitor for this for me would be the equivalent Samsung unit also at 20% off making it slightly cheaper at $ 1128.

Cheers.

  • I won't buy LG for a while again, my washer dryer cracked the drum just outside of 3 year warranty.
The drum outer sealing material is a very lightweight cast resin which won't even repair by using normal plastic welding methods.
The cheapy Sammy I bought has much thicker 'plastic' that seems double walled in some places

    • Try top loader maybe?

Did you purchase any extended warranty?

      • Front loader and, nope, annoyingly. Got taken in by the 10 year warranty on the label….which only covers the motor

  • The question is.. would they take the old unit?

    • Similar Q ^^^

Do they take the machine up the stairs, or just leave it at the courtyard and let me do the rest :)

      I live in a unit, level 3

"FWIW the competitor for this for me would be the equivalent Samsung…"
The equivalent to a Samsung would be a fireplace.

I've bought the Samsung 10kg front loader from the good guys for $1130 (sadly literally a day before their sale when I could've got a $200 voucher) it's been great so far and I'd highly recommend it.

Samsung fires only affected the top loaders but they're discounting the front loaders too :)

There's been major problems with previous 10gk Samsung model… once they reach around 2-3 years..
    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/samsung-wf1104xac.html

Hopefully the new model, doesn't have the same issues…

PS. I've just ordered the LG machine.. a little more expensive, but more likely to last the distance..

My current machine is a LG 7kg front loader, now 12 years old, which developed a little bit of water leakage in the last 3 months….. and a bit noisey.. else.. it still cleans our clothes fine….

After all the Samsung Washing machine issues and LED TV issues.. I really don't feel confident buying their products..

  • wanted to buy a washing maching in jb 'cos i have $500 worth gift card, but it does seem 20% makes a big difference. did not know samsung's washers have so many issues, i may get a lg, or ugly bosch (the cheap ones do look quite ugly compared to korean brands), or maybe fisher & packer, or Electrolux.

Proud owner of Fisher & paykel 8.5kg model WH8560P1. Had it for just over a month and compared to my previous LG front loader which lasted just over 5 years, this beats it hands down. Quick everyday washes, clothes are dry after spin (even did the coin test that they do with miele, asko etc brands and it stood absolutely still), very quiet and efficient check out the Choice (4.5 stars) or product reviews. They rave about it. Bought mine for $850 but if you can get it for under $800 would be an amazing price. Just don't get mixed up with their 'J' model. Hope it helps.

with the 20% discount, this washing machine is currently sold at around $800. Do you reckon a new machine will fit in my 4wheel drive (ie. would like to self pick up from the shop to save $30 shipping fee)?

        • I picked it up with a Ford territory with the right rear seats still up so pretty sure you'll have no problems.

        • @odc1984: thanks a lot. now i need to convince my gf :)

      • Hi just got the same machine. Just wondering if you have connected your machine to cold water only or you connected it to hot water as well.

        regards Nagel

        • Honestly I've only used cold water settings. Easily done over 20 loads since last month. Nil issues thus far.

        • @odc1984: Ok because I have only connected cold water and capped off hot water as it says you can do in the manual. But at the start of a hot wash cycle it sounds like its trying to pump in hot water for a minute or so before it gives up and continues with cycle and pump in cold water.

Was just wondering if its normal, machine is working fine otherwise! :)

        • @nagel:
Guess with the hot water capped off it would be natural for the machine to think it's pumping hot water (phantom limb?). Anyway, hope everything else is working well for you.

  • I bought this bad boy today also with the same deal. But I loaded it with Velocity points by logging in via Virgin then paying with Westpac AMEX where I earned double Altitude points and get extended warranty. :)

  • This https://www.masters.com.au/product/100827566/electrolux-wash… has good review http://www.productreview.com.au/p/electrolux-eww12832.html.
I've got eletrolux washing machine since 2005 and still going good until last week it stopped working for 3 days and started working again. that's when I started researching about the combo and found this. I highly recommend Electrolux.

  • I've been eyeing this one too. I like the idea of a larger machine, and the last choice review of washing machines had the top 3 spots taken by LG followed by Miele. My old Whirlpool (14 years) is still washing, but is making ominous noises. Think I might pull the trigger. I've only got till tonight to decide, and that's good for a procrastinator like me :)
