Even a Microsoft Surface PRO 2 would be better.

    • This is much better than the Surface2, for starters the screen quality is on par with the Surface 3 except resolution and then it's lighter and thinner.

Not better unfortunately. A copy pasta from an Amazon review:

purchased this device to replace my Surface Pro 2. I like the Surface Pro, but my son needed a computer, and I decided I should get to try a new toy, not him. So he gets my old device.

This computer looked very sexy at the store where I purchased it. It is very thin, light, and has a good solid feel to it. In the store, it really looks nice. However, once you get it home and try to use it, a few design flaws become apparent, and then quickly grow to be annoying.

Firstly, The kickstand is very thin, and lines up with the gap between your legs, which makes it useless as a "laptop." I have grown accustomed to the Surface's wide kickstand that allows me to balance the computer easily on my lap. The Tap 11's kickstand works great on a table or desk, but is absolutely useless on your lap.

The screen and keyboard do not connect in any way. Meaning that you cannot use the keyboard to support the screen on your lap either. More importantly, and seemingly very odd to me, the keyboard charges from the screen. However, you can only charge the keyboard if the computer itself is asleep.

Thus, if your keyboard runs out of power, you are out of luck. You cannot attach it, and use phantom power from the screen to continue typing. Instead, you have to put the keyboard cover over the screen, and stop working for a few hours. Why they thought that was a good idea, is beyond me.

I don't hate this device, but I also don't love it.
It could have been a really solid contender, perhaps even a step up from a Surface. But these seemingly small design flaws make it useless for many common functions.

        • I'm not sure why you're pasting an Amazon user review. If you went into the Surface 2 listing you'll find equally negative reviews.

The reality is that they both have advantages and disadvatages but for me the specs from screen to build quality is better.

  • During my windows tablet phase (didn't end up getting one), I read that the battery life on this isn't that good and that the charging is bad because you have to stop using it to charge the keyboard (you need to connect the prongs).

  • If you've ever been in store and had a play with one of these, you might find it not so comfortable to use. See above review

  • I remember sony has exited PC industry.

  • Looks good, especially for the price.
MobileTechReview compares it to the SP2 here:

  • Actually, they are listing it for "$999 or Best Offer". That means you can potentially get it even cheaper by asking for a better price, and then applying the C20EXTRA coupon code?
